Great comparison video , I think you really highlight and talk about the strong points and weak spots which is really helpful . Seems you like the W300 more than the Gunman liked his one maybe it was the air cap , I think he said his was the HVLP cap , I’m really keen on getting a W300 myself ... all in good time , another video I really enjoyed watching
Thanks Mate, yes, i think it's the cap, the WB has long air horns which seems to make a lot of difference, i have the W300 in 1.3 with a the standard H2 cap, it's good but nothing special, the WB in 1.2 would be perfect but the 1.0 is really good so will do me especially as i payed £70 for it, with a pps adapter and a cup, happy days 👍
@@mreightytwenty8709, yeah, i know the feeling, never mind, you have summer to look forward too, we have 31c today so we are having a bit of summer knowing winter is not far away, cheers buddy 👍
Hi Dean, guess it depends what you want to do when you put your feet up 😂😂😂, they will all do what you want but the DV series are very good but pricey, the Pro lites are, as you know, always a good choice 😉
Great video Pete. I'm looking for a primer gun with 1.8, and I was suggested to try out the AZ4 impact junior. But on the other hand there is also a Devilbiss FLT5 ... the price is almost the same .... although I do prefer smaller guns .. which one would you recommend ? Thanks
Hi Kristijan, I've never used the AZ4 in 1.8 but it has the same cap as my 1.3 which works really well so i would imagine it would be fine with thicker materials, the FLG5 1.8 is a good solid primer gun, it is, as you say, a bigger gun than the AZ4 so if you prefer a smaller gun i would go with the AZ4, 👍
I got a Iwata AZ4 1.0 but haven`t used it yet. The 1,0 should be at 1 Bar with base coat, but what about the clearcoat? Is the clearcoat really atomized correctly at 1 Bar, or should I use 2 Bar? Want to avoid orange peel. Best regards from SWEDEN.
Hi Buddy, i use my AZ4 1.0 at 1 bar for base and clear with excellent results, it atomises HS clear well at 1 bar, if you put it up to 2 bar the gun pulses and is no good at all, it's quite slow compared to the 1.3 version but it is a very capable spraygun, sending greetings to Sweden 👍
That was interesting Pete, now I know what I was doing wrong with my AZ4-1 having the pressure set wrong was effecting the fan pattern but at the time I hadn't been painting very long so didn't really know what to look for so just assumed the gun was not right for me. I dug out the AZ4 the other day only to find the trigger had came of and the screws that hold it on were missing, maybe one day I'll get it fixed but it's not really a gun I would use these days having the DV1S and my SRI PRO guns I'm pretty much sorted.
Maybe worth a try, sounds like the "e" clip has come off, maybe it caught on something when it went away, would be interested to see what you think of it, i was truly impressed by the AZ4 AZ4-2 cap 1.3 for HS clear, it does really well and can be flat as you like, the 1.0 is a different animal, it was lagging behind the W300 WB but one is over twice the price of the other so you would probably expect it, cheers 👍
I'll have to have a rummage around in my old spray gun box to see if I can find the clips and pins for it, not sure if I told you what size the tip is in my AZ4 Pete but I can't remember 😁🙄 my memory is terrible these days 😠🤷♂️
Awesome video as always 👏🏻 I have a question and i would appreciate your feedback; I have a small air compressor Makita MAC5200 with 5.2 Gallons tank and that makes 6.5 CFM @ 90PSI; what would you recommend as a mini/midi spray gun with low air consumption (low cfm) between: Iwata Airgunsa AZ4 - with 1.2 ( i know that you prefer 1.3 setup but 1.2 it has another air cup like the 1.0 with much lower air consumption than the 1.3 and probably will have a little bigger fan as the 1.0)// A.N.I R-160 - with 1.2 // or Iwata LPH-80 with 1.2 Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Horia, Thanks buddy 👍, Of the three you mention with the limited air you have i would recommend the LPH80, it's a great little spraygun for smaller items and touch ups, I presume you are not spraying large items?
Hi William, I use mostly Mirka Basecut discs, they last ok and are pretty cheap, I'm in the UK and get them from the link below, clactoncarpaints.co.uk/
As you know, I’ve been seriously considering the w300 since your mentioning.. nice to see the fan between the AZ4 and w300 back to back like that. I’d be curious to a shootout between the w300wb and the sri prolite
Hi Luis, you are correct, most data sheets for clear coat will say a 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4 tip, this is the optimum for a good finish and speed of application, however, it is perfectly possible to spray clear coat through a 0.6 tip without thinning it down if the area you are spraying is small, for example cycle frames, it's just isn't necessary to have a big tip as most of your product will be wasted
@@peteshobbies5383 hi Pete! Thank you so much for your comment. I will invest in a qualitu mini gun for painting small parts of max height 3 inches. Will be applying polyurethane. Again, thanks for comment. Have a good day
It depends on what cap is on the 1.3. The AZ4 1.2 normally has the AZ4 1 cap, which is a 1 bar cap. The 1.3 can have either cap, the AZ4 1, or AZ4 2 cap. If it's the AZ4 2 cap, it will give a much bigger pattern, it's runs at 2.5 bar, so users must more air, but a 3hp compressor should keep up
