Hi there, live your video. I have a question though, I have rooted 3 coleys and they did great in water but once I potted them up, they faded and died? Not sure why this is happening, can you throw some ideas my way?
Sure, Depends on how long you were growing them in water. If you leave them in water for a long time, they tend to struggle adapting to soil. I would let roots get to about 2" long ( which happens quickly on coleus rooting on water) then jump over and plant her in soil. 😀 🪴
Hi there! Yes, you can use a clear container, but I caution against it because algae tends to grow with the extra light coming thru the clear container. So you could use a clear container to see root growth, but i suggest you then put that clear container inside a larger opaque container to control algae growth in the leca. On flushing with leca, we created a video ( on another plant) that shows how we flush our plants in leca. we also have a bunch of other videos on our channel showing us flush leca in water if you're interested. Cheers 😃🪴 th-cam.com/video/_JOOfyN2n5M/w-d-xo.html
Hi there ! You can grow them in water for about a year, but chances are you may develop some root rot after that. So I suggest give it a try and if you see root decay ( roots get discolred and slough off) or if plant leaves start to droop, you will know its time to immediately transfer into Leca or soil. Hope this helps. 😀🪴
😂😂😂 if you cut off half of those leaves you left on there it will root a lot quicker but then I know you know that you’re a landscape designer and a environmentalist😂😂😂
Very interesting video.................. good useful information.......Thanks!!!!!
My pleasure! Glad you found it helpful. 😀🪴
They're beautiful ❤

Can I use a clear pot instead of white like the one you used to make the roots grow? Also what do you mean to flush the leca?
