TDG: Catan: Cities & Knights, 5th Edition

- Whenever I visit an exotic island filled with resources, I always like to visit its cities and spar with its knights. Now I can do it all the time, in board game form! Cody takes a look at this Catan expansion from Mayfair Games.
Just a head's up: I misread the rule on City Walls, they allow you to exceed your traditional hand size of "7" when the Robber comes out. Also, they are removed if you city is downgraded by a barbarian attack. Thanks, Joseph Lemire.
I only play catan with 'Seafarers' and 'City and Knights' integrated. Best way to play these two is to be with 4 players, but build a 3 person board. In this way you can effectively use knights to block other players and it will become more competitive.

for catan 5th editon cities and knights do you need the base game catan? or does cities and knights expansion have everything you need to play with 4 people right out of the box? then can you just buy the Cities and knights 5-6 player exspansion and play 5-6 players?

do i need catan, then catan 5-6, then knights and cities, then knights and cities 5-6?

This expansion brings a lot to this game for sure.
I love cities and knights and I hate it too. The end game is ridiculous with how much shit is flying around. But the expansion makes Catan much juicier overall with more to think about.

90 minutes is ridiculous. Each game took 4+ hours, that's why we never played anymore and i sold it. Good riddance.
