Watching your video, I noticed something interesting that I never noticed before. I have a 2006 Fleetwood Niagara and had a 2007 Fleetwood Arcadia that I sold to friends. Same axle in both with a GAWR of 3500 LBS. However, my 2006 has a GVWR of only 3770 LBS. The 2007 Arcadia and your 2007 Niagara have a GVWR of 3970 as do the newer model years. Makes me feel a little better about being at 3735 lbs with my 2006 fully loaded and ready for camping. Also, I bought a TPMS for motorcycle so I could monitor tire pressure and temperature of the tires on the camper. Last weekend, it was 95F out for our trip down and back from the campground. About an hour drive each way. Both tires were at 50 PSI to start. They both got up to about 102F at the hottest while driving. Once stopped, the sensors went up to about 115F before cooling down. Seems to be a good indicator that the tires aren't overloaded and are running true with little friction from road contact.
The tires have different ratings than the trailer. The main problem is the 3500 pound Dexter axle is only rated for 3500 pounds. Due to this any weight over 3700 pounds makes the axle bend mostly on the side with the pop put dinette. The inside of your tires will start wearing out faster.
I've been wanting to get tpms too but haven't found a good one that can reach the signals in my truck. I have a crew cab and the distance is pretty far. What brand did you use?
I did my lift last year. It was too low and I was afraid the tanks would rip out with the speed bumps and spray all the cars behind me. Lol. Looks a lot better lifted and now it even with my truck
I was wondering if you had any other videos available for this camper. We just bought this exact one and are first time owners. Definitely looking for any helpful videos on opening up for the first time flushing the tanks, anything!
@@jamie.andrews I had a weird measurement on my 96 coleman bayport and got a bare dexter axle based on flange to flange measurements. Had the perches welded on by a real welder. My harbor freight welder couldn't even get a tack going. I didn't want to go spring over axle as it would have been too high, but new spring mounts and springs gave me just enough lift to put on 1 size larger rims.
Yea this is why I like doing things myself. They only charged me $80 to install and for me that was worth not doing it myself. I have a Titanium 125 Flux that likely would have not worked for me. I called them today and they are going to reweld them. So far my tire wear problem is gone and I am closely checking.

Yea they are too low from the factory.

I have one other that is an overview video when I first bought it. I plan to do another one soon though so stay tuned!
If your axle came with the spring perches welded on and it was not specified that it was for spring over axle, the axle is upside down.
You are correct! I had not noticed this until today. Taking it back to have them move the spring perches to the top of the axle. Thanks!

Do you have the part number for the axle replacement. Dexter doesn't know what I'm asking for when I called them about doing this for my camper.
I no longer have the camper, but the part number will be on the axle tube itself if you crawl under and look. It should be etched in.
What forums did you go to regarding the axle issues, etc?
I do not recall that was so long ago now. I think Facebook.
I know you no longer have the Niagara pop up, but can you tell me what type of battery box you had, or did you modify it?
If I recall correctly I had a group 27 battery with the large battery box.
Could I theoretically get a 5200lb axle like this but still have the leaf springs on the bottom?
You have to flip the axle or the tires will rub.
Hi, your roof rack, is that for bikes? Or
Yes 2 bikes. You could also strap other items there as well.
