Oh, that little palette is still so divine! Seems like a great selection of items to bring with you. I'm so glad your travel plans went through and you could be with your mom for Mother's Day. That's so special!
All is well and we are having a good time! I've made dents in some colours but there is still heaps of paint and some colours haven't really been used as much. Always the way! 😂
💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜 if you get really stuck on .2mm leads, Bunbougu has some - they have free post too over $59 which lets be honest, in a pen shop, to easy to do! LOL Hope you're enjoying your trip to NZ....
I found some 0.3 leads today for another mechanical pencil I have. Still can't get 0.2 but I know there is an online store in Australia which sells Japanese things and they have 0.2mm lead refills on there. I guess I shall be making an online order at some point!
I think you have everything with you to do some lovely paintings. I am not traveling overseas but when we're on holiday (by car) I am taking my large Etchr satchel and a LOT of stuff with me. It is so hard to decide what I will need and what medium I want to work with. At the end I only use a fraction of what I brought, haha. Enjoy your time off.
It’s so much easier to take more on an Aussie road trip! Travelling overseas means weight limits and all of that tiresome stuff. We may need to check an extra bag on the way home this time due to buying some stuff, lol.
It’s so satisfying how the palette fit right into the pencil case and still zipped up in the end! I feel the same way about little travel sketchbooks. I don’t want to take anything chunky. I do still need a travel watercolor book with a nice paper and I love the leather cover on yours! Convenience colors are always useful, especially if you know you’ll use them a lot. When you started swatching, I thought to myself, she’s wild, no Payne’s grey! Then I noticed the neutral tint- you’ve got to have at least one of the two😂 it’ll be fun to see what you ended up painting/what you’re currently painting😱
I've managed to do a few little paintings and sketches, and I've used most of the items in my case so I am happy about that! The greens have been used the most, and that neutral has come in handy too, yay. The sketchbook itself is also really great! 😁
nice selection of supplies to tak😀not too many, and not too little. I took a small sketchbook and some pencils when I went to NZ, but never took them out the whole month I was there lol
Thankyou for this, Becky! It was good to see the final selection. It's also great to know that you are completely well again and having a great time. What do I take? Rather a lot! I've usually had a hired car and gone out by myself. While my husband was diving, I was painting - and making friends wherever I went because of it. :) So ... I took my usual camera and lenses, out-for-the day watercolour / sketching / coloured pencil kit plus my usual mini-kit (which went into my carry-on bag) for when I was out with him or not using the car. I missed having an easel, but hey, I did need a little space in my big suitcase for swimwear and clean clothes (as well as some of his rather heavy diving stuff!)
Thank you, we are having a great holiday so far! I figured with international luggage weight limits I'd pack "light", but if we road trip in Australia then I pack more...ie the whole car, lol.
Thank you for your sharing. I like your idea of arranging your kit. I have a mechanical pencil in 0.2 too. I like the tiny line for my draft sketch. I bought the lead from online shopping application, named Shopee. Pentel shop is available there too. I got the lead from couple online shops as I wanted it in different darkness. I also can’t find the lead in any offline stationary shops too. The cost is about $1-$2.5 depends on the quantity of leads (12 or 20 leads). Btw, I’m from Thailand. 🇹🇭😊
St louis art supply in usa might carry lead for your pencil that you cant find...nice idea to use paper swatch in your sketch book....mikelle art mom🎨✍👩🎨
HI Becky, I m a New follower! You convince me to buy this tiny Art Tool kit palette 🎨 I was looking at for monthes !!! I also take the tiny Lihit lab smart fit for travelling and sketching on the go, but my "Home made" palette was a bit thick, and the Artool kit seems to be perfect!!! Coming in a few days 🤗🤗🤗 thank you for sharing 🙂🙏
Great idea to do the double pour. Hope you're having a great time. I'll be curious how you got on with the paper in actual painting. I hear good things about it. Did you buy it in person? I'm actually impressed they used the large sheets cut down, since frequently the other formats are not as good quality. I have a Saunders fat pad that's cut down from large sheets and it still has the deckle edges!
I'm really liking the book so far, the paper is holding up really nicely and behaving well with the paints. I bought this book in a local art store called Senior Art Supplies. They had a 20% off sale, yay!
Could be due to the ratio of honey in the binder, plus climate etc. Many of mine have set well enough, but I did have a less than ideal experience when travelling and the paints in my palette ran into each other - it was such a mess!
A week into the trip already! We are in Wellington now, for a few days. 😊

Everything has worked out well so far, and I am very grateful we managed to get here. So much red tape but it was worth it. 😊
Wow-I am so impressed. I'd probably take more than that just to to another room! Have a really wonderful vacay-you've earned it.
I had to stop myself from packing half the suitcase with art supplies, haha!
Have a beautiful time!
Thank you, we are having an excellent time so far! 😊
Hi Becky hope you are having an awesome time in NZ. I really hope you have packed enough paint and will do lots of pics to share with us. Best.
All is well and we are having a good time! I've made dents in some colours but there is still heaps of paint and some colours haven't really been used as much. Always the way! 😂
Have a brilliant time! I'm glad you guys manage to leave the country !
Us too, haha! Lots of paperwork and rapid tests....but now we are pretty much done except for one form to fill out before returning to Australia.

I use those 0,2 pens. Love them. I have a 0,3 too. If you can’t find lead in the right size, give me a holler and I’ll send you a couple packs 😍

@@BeckyTregear my offer still remains 😀, just let me know if you want me to send you some lead. Every girl needs some lead sending friends 🥰

@@BeckyTregear haha, we always end up with even more stuff on our way home, don't we?
I like your colour choices for your travelling palette. I love your videos.
Thank you so much! 😊❤
Nice little kit. I would travel with watercolours if going by plane and gouache, if by car. See you on Friday.
Watercolours in a palette are definitely the go for plane travel. I would hate to lose tubes going through customs! Some places are so strict. 😭

I'm liking it so far!

What a wonderful travel art kit you have. I love the black paint case. Enjoy your travels.
Thank you, we had a great time! Made it home yesterday, and now I have that fun time of catching up on everything from the last two weeks or so, haha!
Happy travels Becky!
Thank you, happy so far!
I loved that little green pencil case so I’ve just ordered it! Have a lovely holiday!!

I hope you love the Art Toolkit; I’ve really enjoyed using mine! It is looking a lot messier now, haha!
I hope so, I will tell you😉
Great choice of supplies. I really like the pencil case.
Also, relax and enjoy your time with your mother… that’s the point of the trip! Paintings and TH-cam videos can wait.
The videos I did in advance so I have done nothing for the last week or so, haha!

I make my own paints and they have honey but they always dry down so idk why other paints wouldn't?
Could be due to the ratio of honey in the binder, plus climate etc. Many of mine have set well enough, but I did have a less than ideal experience when travelling and the paints in my palette ran into each other - it was such a mess!
