For you to assign such heavy meaning to the bad kids rolls storytelling wise and then attempt to diminish Ally’s rolls and Kristen’s luck when she DOES roll good just to justify saying she’s the worst person ever, when in reality she’s been a complicated teenager is kinda telling (and unfortunately a lot of fans think like you tbh). Like you saying “the bad kids try soooo hard” = players rolling bad rolls for their checks and then saying “Kristen gets everything right for no consequence at all” = when Ally rolls good for SOMETIMES silly bits is like. Cognitive dissonance here. And people this season keep removing her non linear character growth from season 1 AND 2 to try and say she’s a bad person entirely is so weird. As if she didn’t sacrifice her life for Riz, as if she hasn’t (as Brennan literally acknowledges) been the best cleric of their generation of all time, as if she hasn’t LITERALLY saved them multiple times through Incredibly clutch rolls… so weird. It’s like people ask for complicated characters and non linear growth and then when you get them (ESPECIALLY when they’re women) all nuance suddenly leaves fans bodies and say they’re the most evil/worst/sinister/shitty person. and again, this isn’t to say your critique of Kristen’s behavior isn’t somewhat valid, it’s just very narrowed and tunnel-vision esque and not actually accepting Kristen as a whole person. Especially when we have moments of Kristen being a great friend and a kindhearted girl (who goes to fucking tell Bobby Dawn literal teleevangelist that his son has disappeared, but he would rather not listen to her because he’s been on the plan all along and her being failed by him on PURPOSE) .. Her checking in on Jawbone, her losing Yolanda after trying to confide in an adult and having to carry that guilt, literally reaching deep in herself to be able to send Yolanda and Lucy’s spirit to a peaceful place without her God to back her up, and sillier moments (like her trying to help Adaine see the hottie Oisin, letting Fig have the pride of doing the shrimp jump after the worst thing that’s happened to her (and to say she’s killed Cassandra herself when a SHIT ton of other factors came into play, literally Kalina taking Cassandra to a place where she could be killed on purpose, Figs curse, Ankarnas shatter stars influencing the fight), attempting to save Buddy Dawn despite him being a confirmed enemy, helping the others OFTEN with bless and circle of power and guidance (like riz’s climatic investigative rolls, the entire fight of ragnarok and last stand)… her trying to take care of her brother best she can, trying to foster a good relationship with her parents who frankly hate her… the list goes on. This is already really long, but the future conversation she has with tracker, im more on her side anyways. To accept the funding and social backing of the literal elves who corrupted a God IS weird, it IS selling out.. in the real world we WOULD call it that. Tracker acts as if the fun stuff wouldn’t exist without the money, but she literally tells Kristen that SHE has to do the hard work while majority of trackers religion and sudden success is funded and supported by the previous devout corrupted elves and NOT her(?!?!?!?!) like … to say she’s put in ALL the hard work is crazy. Meanwhile Kristen literally rawdogged brought her dead god back… no fancy elven money necessary.
