- Ng Kok Song reiterated his position as a non-partisan presidential candidate, saying this while on the campaign trail on Aug 26. READ MORE: str.sg/iSx9
He explained that is why he is not accepting donations from any political party, or even business groups, to fund his campaign as he aims to avoid being beholden to their agenda.

I have a lots of respect for the very intelligent yet humble Mr Ng Kok Song, honesty count and who are we to judge who he should be with? Age is only a number, remember everyone have their choices in life and we must respect others privacy. Compared to Tan Kin Lian who has been rallying for Singaporeans for 20 years, he just appeared 2 weeks ago to run for this PE. Never heard of him in the political scene before. How genuine can this person get?
He started his company mostly using state's seed funding from GIC, Temasek, and Singapore Labour Foundation, purely dependent on PAP.
Right now his son works as a director in GIC, thus, there's heavy conflict of interest, and despite knowing this, he even have the audacity to run for PE, a position that governs Singapore's reserves, can you say that he has integrity?

But his direction does not address the daily needs of Singaporeans. Especially in the cultural and social aspect... Even though Tan Kin Lian notices the pretty girls (who doesn't?) He has a wife and is a conservative individual... on behalf of the Christian and Muslim community, he support family values and encourages young people to marry early... he speaks a lot about his grandchildren... On the other hand, Ng Kok Song talks about his pets and Tharman talks about sports...
Cherish this valuable opportunity to get a refreshing non -PAP president for sg at this crtical point in sg...who is willing to come out of comfort zone to serve...or else may not hav this sort of chance & CHANGE. anymore.....

Without the ruling party carefully managing the revenues and expenses, how could he performed invest in GIC?
Furthermore, we are aware that GIC is not the sole contributor to the reserve & NKS was only the CIO for 6 years from 2007.

Would would a highly capable leader like Tharman at the prime of his career and intellectual ability want to become President? Stepping into the heels of Halimah is a step up for him ? You CANNOT be serious. In fact if that is his ambition it is a totally laughable one . For one It’s a highly ceremonial job involving some ribbon cutting and trotting out onto the tarmac during the NDP.
The President acts on the advice of the PM mostly,and takes legal advice from the AG and on rare occasions consults independent legal advisors before he follows the bidding of the PM. His or her actions are determined by the Constitution, and precedent.
To a lesser degree the President can act as a bulwark against the political dark arts of a PM if indeed this surfaces and the public is up in arms against it.
Tharman is better off leaving the Presidency to a fatherly old geezer with a suitable CV and good moral standing and set his sights elsewhere where he has executive and serious policy making powers.
The world needs a Tharman and his considerable nous .
LKY aside, the best PM Singapore never had should set a higher bar instead of being a hand-maiden to Loong,humouring visiting VIPs and hosting tea-parties at the Istana.

The candidate selection criteria are too narrowly defined. There should be chance for those who are not from the gov and not from big corporations to stand for the presidential election.
Every election, you are always given a basket of rotten apples to choose from. It's the incumbent power's way of saying, either you choose us, or eat one of the rotten apples. That's how the incumbent retains its power. You think they are stupid enough to let Tan Cheng Bock or Tan Jee say run? Popular and credible people will not be fielded in such a "election"! This is also the reason why George Goh is disqualified... Every and any excuse can be made up to eliminate all opponents that's capable of putting up a good fight using powerplay. Then you are left with weak, weird, controversial candidates to pick from, like these 2 uncles. Today's democracy is a lie and a sham. This is the same for the U.S. where election boundaries are constantly redrawn as if the ground moves every 4 years. Simply to divide and conquer... Voters in USA eventually got sick of the shit they have been eating all the years and decided to swallow the rotten apple and President Trump was born. I hope this election and future elections to come, Singaporeans realise that we have been eating shit all these while and wake up to start to eat one of the rotten apples that's given to us. Not all wealthy people can. Only those who meet the criteria, esp with regards to having experience in running a $500 mil establishment. I personally hv no issues with donations. But each candidate shd only receive donations from non political affiliated individuals or establishments.

TKL has only Secondary 4 education. How is he able to understand the intricacies of investment? His wife was a sales assistant in a bridal shop. She is also not a graduate and probably has same or lower education than TKL. Singapore economy was expanding rapidly when TKL was GM of NTUC Insurance. As Co-operative, the business growth is automatic from members. Fact that he left NTUC at age 60 show his performance was not exceptional but riding on organic growth.
The loss is to strengthen SGD currency so as to reduce inflation since SG imports most of its products, where root caused by the pandemic and crisis between the two europe countries.

1. He is LKY era generation and taught LKY meditation likely due to being trusted by him. Not saying crony
2. He said on a recent interview his FAVORITE PAP leader is LHL.
3. He is endorsed by HC.
4. Why not he confess which party did he voted his whole life. Partisan in a non partisan way? 😅
Which teacher or civil servant who voted PAP openly say they are pap member? This is a question.
