Swapping around the order of the score actually works really well. Witch introduces the point of the song. The bugs appear. Dorothy and team explain how they feel. Dance segment. Witch reprise. It's great! Congrats to the musical director who made the change.
I think this is my favorite rendition of The Jitterbug, simply because of the witch's involvement! I always thought she needed more spotlight. I'm playing the WWOTW this year so I love seeing all of the inspiration for her in this video!
Really? I think that ours is the best. Everyone sings. Unlike this, everyone sings so everyone participates. Plus I, personally don’t like the witch’s singing. I don’t know. Just after hearing our witch sing it, I’m just not liking this one.
They did it differently--the witch isn't supposed to be in this scene, and what she sings/how she sings it is WAY different...but it works. And the choreography is nice. They just made riskier choices than most. Personally, I like that :)
the jitterbug sequence is constantly being done wrong. they always refer to that rehearsal sideline footage that only represents a tiny portion of what the actual scene looked like.
Good work but I dislike how the wicked witch went like THE JITTERbug. Also I don't like how she squealed it didn't seem like something a witch would do
Lol in my school iam doing the play come watch it is on July and iam a jitter bug and Emorl city plz come and watch my school is Montbello park elemary school
Stinks. The wicked witch of the west wasn't even in the jitterbug scene at all-why on earth is she in this. I really wish these jitterbug numbers would try to keep to the idea of the original footage.
@@slimeheaven5449 movies kept detailed descriptions of every scene .what furniture was on set, what costume ,what makeup what lights, they know what the d eleted footage look's like as some collectors have copies of the orchestral screening where the musicians get to see the film as they are creating the scenes or the score with background music. also there are still reels of black and white footage for the editor. so contrary to film mythology all film is not lost
@@slimeheaven5449 because there are things called shooting scripts that tell you what was shot and what was intended to be and the wicked witch was never intended for jitterbug cause Margaret Hamilton wasn’t a singer.
The Witch was absolutely amazing!

She looks more like Zelena from Once Upon a Time. She even has the same hairstyle.
Yes!!
YESS

I love the witch’s costume and how it’s sooooooo spooky and scary
Its very Elphaba like🤷
Looking at different Jitterbug's for our school's production and this is the best one I've seen. Ridiculously good!
I agree. This is the best of two (I haven't decided which is best) out of like 20 others I've seen. Can't wait to perform the show

In the madison square garden production, the wicked witch of the west sings the song
Her costume looks almost like the costume in “Wicked.”
I love this so much omg
i loved this so much!
I wish they had the whole show.
Amazing !!! Wow
Dorothy lost one of her ruby slippers! lol
the jitterbug sequence is constantly being done wrong. they always refer to that rehearsal sideline footage that only represents a tiny portion of what the actual scene looked like.
those 7 people that clicked that the thumbs down bottom are wronggggg
playing a jitterbug will always be one of my favorite roles, but our choreography was really different compared to this
AWH! I remember I was a munchkin in this.
Im uncle henry in a school play and a snowman and a ozian!
Is the witch's costume available to borrow and/or rent? It's fabulous!
Do you have more clips of your show?
She looks like zelena from once upon a time
This is great but the witch could be a tiny tiny bit more evil but GREAT
Thank you Shelby for everything! Here’s a little something for fun: th-cam.com/video/m8VeXxk1fIU/w-d-xo.html

Then make your own version
Well how do you know what the original was, it was a deleted scene in the original movie.
It’s theater the productions are allowed to take liberties
