@@scottpm1132 It is very important to start to work with your dog from an early age and learn him properly not be afraid and to trust you. Then everything is easy and looks good!

It takes me 15 - 20 minutes just to get my Americans fully wet down to the skin! They have such a thick undercoat, don't even ask me what it's like when they shed. But after a bath and dry... crazy beautiful. People pull over in their cars and comment.
Yes, it's true, akitas are not for first time dog owners-- for a number of reasons.

I would love your professional recommendations on any pro or budget friendly gallons of dog bath shampoo. I bought one from chewy called buddy wash and it’s a 2 in 1 (shampoo/conditioner). I use it in a dilution mixing bottle 16:1, so far so good. Also I need to get me one of those brush things you use when your sudding up your dog.
For her I use Double K Ultimate, sometimes Double K Grimeinator, and after Double K Solution as a conditioner. I am very happy with Chris Christiansen shampoo's and conditioner's, Iv San Bernard also, but for her I prefer Double K.

How often should I bring an Akita to the groomer? I want to make sure if we get one that it is well taken care of. Also I want to make sure it trusts the groomer and is well behaved.
That depends on amount how often do you groom her at home and wash her. Let's say that every two month is normal for regular grooming at Groomers place. Lucy is coming every two month, but her brother is coming every 2-3 weeks, he has a different coat than her. Thicker. I love all my clients like they are my own. 🥰
my Akita looks almost like that but he would never stand for all that stuff being done to him unless I was there with him
Mine too. The vet won't even see her unless I'm in the room.

@@gabrielaveghea3803 You should do it slowly in step by step. Like with cat!: First just wet towel, than a bucket full of water just to stand inside, and then just to drink water.....and when you go to the body give her treat, or her favorite toy....

Phoenix Zonda and Shernbao Tsunami. I use both of them.
Not even flash cleans that fast.I need her at home.

I have 2 godbless groomers esp when they are blowing their coats.
I am all alone, but sometimes I use 2 blow dryers ;)
What blow dryer do you use? As in can I buy it somewhere? Because I am getting an Akita as a service dog and I want to maintain its coat well!
I am from Croatia. I have bought everything from few Grooming shops here. The blowdryer is Pheonix universal Zonda with doble turbine, and another is Tsunami Shernbao,also dual motor.
I am using Pheonix Universal Zonda dryer and Shernbao Tsunami blaster, but you can try cheaper version like Vivog super 2700. That should be enought for start.

I don't know what the question is, but if you mean to use Furminator for Akita - my answer is big NO!

@@Nighthawk799 I don't recomend Furminator for this type of fur because it can damadge the coat with blades. Lucy is a show dog. Every strand of her hair neads to be in perfect shape and to be nutured and perfectly healthy. You can use it on your dog if he is a pet, but be very careful to brush out the undercoat on neck, back and litlte bit on the sides, but not too much!
Dogs hate being washed and groomed. They hate it.
