    Thank you very much for sharing your expertise. I very much appreciate your taking the time to compare the Kreg options.

    Very helpful. Thank you! I'm leaning towards an aluminum model like the Massca. You definitely nudged me further that way. The 720 at my local store didn't seem that sturdy and you confirmed.

    You read my mind, I was looking at the new one in the store the other day trying to decide whether I "needed" to upgrade. You helped make my mind up. I did get an Armor Tool clamp for my K4 awhile back and really like it, it's much easier to adjust switching back and forth between board thicknesses. It auto adjusts to the board thickness by itself, check it out sometime, I think I paid like $30.

      Glad I helped! I wasn’t aware anyone made a clamp up grade for the K4! Looks good I’ll have to pick one up. Thanks for the tip!

    I have the old K4 and it’s tremendous. Your video proves that I don’t need to move up. I think new users would like the new one fine. Kreg makes great products like the hinge jig and shelf hole jig.

      Hello Daniel! Glad I could help! I own the drawer slide jig and drawer hardware jig and a bunch of the clamps. I've been happy with everything I've bought from Kreg. Im sure they are under a lot of pressure to innovate and release new products. Glad I got the K4 when it was out. Thanks for watching!!

      Bought that jig to retrofit 60-70 year old kitchen cabinets for modern slides and new boxes. Jig works perfect and was a huge help. If I did that again though Id build the boxes for under drawer slides instead.

    Thanks I have K4 and changed the clamp to an armor tool clamp upgrade. It’s a much better clamp than the original. I was wondering if it was worth upgrading to 720 but this review has me rethinking it. Thanks!

    I have the K4 and I made a small upgrade to it. I swapped out the work holding clamp for an auto lock clamp and it has been great. No more turning the screw when working with different thickness materials. I got mine from armor tool but I know Rockler sells a similar clamp. I wouldn’t change my K4 for any other pocket hole jig. It’s robust and feels like it will outlast any of the newer versions.

      I just bought the k4 secondhand for $20 (along with a $40 dewalt biscuit jointer, a couple bar clamps, and a set of forsner bits), and I already know it'll last me forever. I'm glad I read about the auto adjusting clamp from yours and another comment, I'll definitely be upgrading it to that.

    I do have the 720. I would buy it again for what I paid for it. I picked it up at Lowes for 70 bucks. It was clearance.. Seems fine to me. I also put that clamp on you showed first. It worked fine on my bench, it's wood not metal.

    Very nice job explaining the differences. Enjoying your videos! I have that older one, no dust port though, that would've been nice. I think I would like using it if I mounted it and added some support boards...just getting setup and more serious about stuff, so that'll be happening soon. Keep up the good work!

    That thing around 7:40 is supposed to be a work piece support and stop. Never used it, always put some scrap wood under the long end.
    Thanks for the review, agree not worth it, having the scale for the bit depth stop on the back, or the bottom depending on the orientation you choose, would be useless if you did screw it down to the bench.

    Something that is curios to me is the absence of the K5 Pocket Hole Jig. I bought the K5 and believe it is better than the K4 and has a lot of the benefits of the 720 Pro.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello James! You don’t have to be curious! The K4 is mine and I borrowed a friends just purchased 720 Pro. If I’d known someone with the K5 it def would have been in the vid. Truth is this is still a small channel with fairly limited resources and I have to weight every buying decision. If this vid had done amazing I would have followed up with a K4 vs K5 comparison. I’m sure we’ll get to the K5 eventually. Thanks for the comment!!

    The dust collection alone on the new 720 makes the upgrade worth it. I own both, the 720 drills much cleaner, bit drives down without chip interference - faster and auto adjust clamping for different thickness material is effortless - only needs very light pressure to tight clamp. I am thoroughly impressed with the 720 pro.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kerry! I did not use the dust ports on either unit and I’ve never used it on my K4. I cannot confirm or dispute what your saying and that’s a fail on my part. You make a solid point as I would never hook a vacuum to this for my personal work and it could be causing less performance. I’ll be more thorough going forward. Thank you for the comment!
