Australorpes are meaty and pretty and have a generally good disposition (for a rooster). You will be hard pressed to find a better layer than an aurocana! Only a couple buttercups ever beat it in my flock and arocana hens are the sweetest things. Id often hold mine. I grew up with 300 chickens, ducks and turkeys as well. Hope these general traits hold true for you! Very solid chicken choices!
