I like how crisis is pronounced cry sis. Maybe that's why earth turned blue (I'm referring to venus and earth being considered sisters) ...and belgian flag
When lumumba fired the president and the president fired him they both rang up mobuto head of the army at the time and demanded he arrest the other so mobuto decided to do both and arrested both of them. A good book about this crisis is The men who stole Africa which is all about African dictators. Some of the book could be great videos like equatorial Guinea where a politician was arrested for owning a olive which was made in Spain so was sentenced to one of the most feared prisons in the world. Also equatorial Guinea had a private mercenary group try to over throw it but was stopped in Zimbabwe on the flight to the country. Also Gaddafi and his son who wanted to be a professional footballer but once lost a game so called his dad and had the stadium ball doused down.
Another good book is the state of africa which talks about even more UN failings like in Somalia where they want guns blazing (black hawk down was happened here) and lost, and how that then meant when the Rwandan genocide happened they only sent a handful of men who were ordered to nothing as the eternal general was friends with the hutus. Also how France actively added the genocide by trying to cover it up and supplying machetes to the government.

Maybe!
"they overthrew both men, established a *one party dictatership* "
Communists: Hol' up. *thats OUR thing*
How did mobutu capture lumumba if he gained power in 1965 and lumuba died in 1961? Help?
US: We protect democracy
Congo: ey commie over here
US: ONE STATE PARTY IT IS
Last time I was this early the girl made fun of me
RIP Patrice Lumumba. His legacy lives on
Congo: Starts to using soviet weapons
America: you weren't supposed to do that
"Because Screw Leopoldville!"
-Conner 2020
Dude, you need to do a vid on king Leopold in the Congo. Show people that he was a monster and his country brainwashed his country to treat him like a hero. Slaughtered whole tribes over rubber.
Somebody: am dissapointed u didnt upload weekly

BRUH MOMENT
Man u make many funny videos hope u get more subs soon

Maybe Belgium did deserve to be curb stomped by Germany two times
As a Belgian, yes also legit every other colonial power did similar things only, foreigners wrote a book about the Belgian Congo. Every single colonial empire deserved to be curbstomped by someone
@@Juanthar Indeed.
bruh people died like the goverment suck but you can't blaim the people who live in Belgium, I live in belgium and I hate this place but on no way did the civilians deserve to get killed by the Germans
@@janaraWinchester Indeed a completly hetereoseksual roman empire is just talking nonsense. Belgium did not deserve it. Nobody deserves war, Germany didnt either. And I am Dutch btw. So its a kind of neutral opinion (althought when it comes to ww1, in ww1 we where slighty more pro German, abeit neutral).
@@axolotl-guy9801 ahm what about policing action in dutch East Indies
Everybody gangsta till a Belgian dude named Leopold shows up
I like how crisis is pronounced cry sis. Maybe that's why earth turned blue
(I'm referring to venus and earth being considered sisters)
...and belgian flag
De que hablas viejo
1960 Switzerland: told me to kill myself and punt me off a mountain.
2020 Switzerland: And we'll do it again.
That’s crazy! I’ll look into that. Thanks!
You've finally uploaded I am so happy
This was fantastic.
Enjoyable and informative
Thank you!
5:10 I laughed much harder at this than any oversimplified video
as always, america's definition of democracy, is when people vote for what YOU want them to vote for

Thank YOU!

Can you update us on which year each thing happened?
I try to put slides in to help, but it definitely gets kinda confusing. This all happened mostly from 1960 to 1962
Ok, thank you!

@@HistoryHouseProductions Thanks
As a Congolese your pronunciation is killing me lol
I’ve offended every nationality I’ve done a video on. XD I do try to learn the pronunciations, but sometimes I can’t find recordings of them anywhere on the internet so then I have to just they my best.
