- Proton has a bad reputation of being a fuel guzzler. But is that actually true? Hafriz Shah joins the Proton 1 Tank Adventure to see if a Proton Saga 1.3 CVT can cover over 600 km with less than one tank of fuel. Watch this video to see how he fared, plus get a few fuel-saving tips along the way!

im user of proton saga LMST...the best car ever...now want buy this type of saga..i love saga so much..
Fuel efficiency depends mostly on the driver of the car..if the car is not well maintained and the driver is a heavy footer and if the car is used in cities, fuel consumption will be higher.

Most of the cars does save fuel in highway, but in city driving some car are hopeless, you know what I mean...

Why didn’t do this thing before the geely bought proton? Generally speaking, proton lacks of advertisements. That’s why proton couldn’t compete in its very own country.

I'm just curious...what is the fuel tank capacity of the proton saga? How much fuel left roughly at the end? You guys should try from KL to up north like Png, Kedah or even Perlis instead. Then see what kind of results you get.
The fuel tank capacity is 40 litres, so we had around 7 litres left at the end.

Lol. My perodua axia Fc is 20km/l with aircond on on highway. When i a bit more lazy it can go up to 22km/l. With average speed 80-100kmh

Can they (Proton) achieve acclaimed 21km/litres of all new Myvi 2018? If no then take my money cause i hate Perodua new engine as it super slow to respond and gearbox are tuned to maximise fuel economy. Damn you Perodua. Now I can't tailgate other people!!

curafat ad iianm, turning eco off only turns the indicator light off. No change in engine mapping, throttle response, gear change, nothing.
It was that way for Axia, and nothing seems to change with Myvi too.

Aerodynamic is great for cars specially to achieve high speed in tiny amount of fuel. The thing is that about the engine mostly..... It depends..
im a new persona owner, i would actually like to know how peroduo fuel consumption is. i tried driving persona the most economical way(hypermiling all the time), the best i mange is 16.3KM/L at high way condition. I totally agree that in this 1 tank adventure, proton has good fuel efficiency, but so do all cars running at highway speed.
for city folks like me, city drive i only manage to get 11km/L. i know that other similar cc cars can achive better than this.

mungkin sebab persona lagi berat. Iriz dan persona body memang berat. Ada hpf. Saga ringan sikit. Saing2 honda city

What if i say my Exora turbo did before 6.4L per 100Km by just driving 90 consistent on the highway? Yes. I did it. Subang - Melaka. Its all on the right foot.

I'm driving a 1st Gen waja with the 1.6L Mitsubishi engine (non-campro), highway driving around 650KM per tank.
50litres tank on waja
My waja 2003 can do 600km
My 91 ford can easily go 600 km with one tank ..

Jim Lee wira 50l fuel tank. Don't compare tank vs distance. Compare litre perkm fuel consumption

your wira have bigger tank and more lightweight than this saga and have less throttle input because your engine has more powahhhh.. So no need to bising
I use this saga on my daily work the best i can got 13 to 14 L/km.
I've tried 700km with just 1 tank with my altis from JB to Penang 😊

600km full tank with 18km/l average FC but driven at constant 70 or 80km/h? I want 1500km full tank with 50km/l FC whilst driving average 120-130km/h. When possible?

This rubbish fuel economy test is funny. Of cos la drive 60kmh will won't burn much fuel. I think a Mercedes Benz E-Class may even consume 20 over kml if driven in this manner

Well, my city non hybrid easily achieved 23.5km/l when cruising below 100km/h with aircon on. Single tank can reach 7++km if long distance

this is not realistic enough. my proton saga 2016 (manual) goes average 11km/l in grab usage. the most it can go 13km/l
