  • Nick runs through our early season program, showing how we target kings when the water is cold and adding a few tips from his years as a fishing guide on Lake Ontario. This program will catch a multitude of species as well since the Niagara Region is full of big schools of fish from Brown, Rainbow and Lake Trout, to Kings and Cohos, even Whitefish.

The one in the video is a boga grip.
They are a little more pricey but that one there is over 10 years old still working great.
We also use the vice grip style Rapala grippers that work well too

What SOG do you guys typically run in the spring? Or do you run Fish Hawks and mainly focus on speed at ball?
Enjoyed this type of video. Looking forward to more like it

We typically like to troll quicker than most. Usually around 2.7 to 3.0 MPH which is GPS. We don’t often use probes more just reading our lines to keep our trolling speeds aligned. We like to troll quicker with the theory of covering more water with hopes to engage more fish. Salmon can move quickly so a fast moving bait can often be enticing while covering 30 % more water with quicker trolling speeds often equals more bites

@@silversalmonchallenge1807 thank you very much! Would love to hear about how you change speeds as the year goes on or tactics change. Thanks again!
