Nice to see more work on your "E", and to see the join line has only been lead loaded part way, as Ford knew it was a standard fit Vinyl roof on the 2000E model, so would hide the join, cars with fully painted roofs got it fully lead loaded, but they often skimped on doing all of it on cars that had the vinyl tops as on yours.
I'll keep em coming - its pure raw footage whacked together on IMovie - which is so easy compared to video editing. I can film more sections if you like
@@ShelleysCortina yes mate deffo more sections and longer videos. Would be perfect :) I’ve subscribed anyway mate , I’ve also got a really rusty Capri I’m doing and also a cortina estate 2.3 ghia auto :)
@@retrorust3395 i saw one of your latest vids. How is the issue at the unit coming along? I'm trying to get my shell into my shed in my back garden which will involve some mates helping to lift it! But I'm hoping that will spur me on to spend more time working on it
I would get it welded and solid before stripping the paint so it has more protection from damp, rain etc especially if it's outside or it will just oxidize, rust. Not criticism just saying.
Agreed. Just doing the roof as it is good and just needs saving as it was under a vinyl and so not fully painted - and lots of surface rust. Hoping to get the shell to my back shed asap

Yep, I'll fill that part in myself i think as it will be under vinyl, it won;t have to be 100% perfect - and will be good practice.

You need to put some cure rust on the bear metal
Thanks for the reply. Is this needed on freshly sanded bare metal where visible traces of rust have been removed?
Personally I would it is the same when doing new panels always use weld though primer
