    HOW I REVIEW:
As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:
A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.

Bo, I ended up purchasing the 28L version of this Heimplanet Transit bag based on this video and the other Heimplanet video that you made, and successfully used it as my one bag travel backpack for a few trips already, some are just one to two nights, but I also managed to fit up to a week worth of clothing(Indonesian climate only, no winter clothing), electronics, toiletries, camera and lenses, all under 7kg weight limit of airplane carry on allowance. From my experience, the secret is to use a small sling bag in conjunction with this main travel backpack to carry essential items for quicker access, and to help divide the load so that the main bag doesn't look too bulky and heavy that you'll get gate-checked in the airport gate.
Just want to share my experience, and thanks for the review video of this bag(and the other Heimplanet Transit video as well), which helped me to decide on the bag! I really like the 28L version of this bag so much! At 1.5kg, the 28L bag is just a tiny bit heavier than what I would usually prefer, but it can still pack a lot of gear and provide me with some benefits like weather resistance, load lifter, side handle, some quick access pockets, and the nice big main compartment.

Hey Bo, great first impression. Thank you very much. We always appreciate your honest take on our stuff 🙏 Since there are few people mentioning the older Monolith Daypack 22 I thought it would make sense to share an insight. Despite labeling the new Daypack "24" it is actually a bit smaller than the old Monolith Daypack 22. This is due to the simple fact that we used a different method to measure volumes back in the day. The new method is more precise and is very close to the true size. The old Monolith Daypack would have been a 26l pack using the new method. Thought this might be of interest to some. Cheers, Moritz

I own the Heimplanet Mononith (the small one) and I love the Heimplanet Quality. It's been my daily carry and I use it even for light traveling. This bag looks like a good successor to it. The laptop compartment being accessible from the inside has been helpful, if you use it for an ipad. I find it a good idea, so you don't have to open another zipper for it, if you already have the bag open in front of you. Those extra pockets on the iside are good to see as well. The Monolith was maybe a little too minimalistic in that area. By the way... those exterior straps, that can be taken out can be a life-saver... for example if the weather gets surprisingly warmer and you have to put your bulky winter jacket somewhere, Makes you super flexible when on the road and gives you peace of mind to always know you can attach stuff to your bag just in case it doesn't fit in.

I have the same one (Monolith Daypack). My only complaint is that at the 1.5 year mark, it lost nearly all rigidity. If it's not the back panel, it's sags so it's almost like wearing a loose bag. Everything pools down at the bottom and sags badly. Love the exterior gear straps (for the same reason to put a jacket on if I don't want to wear it). I thought I'd like the convertibility to a messenger style, but it wasn't that comfortable and the sagging on the outer flap makes converting to that look really tacky.
Love the features and the idea, overall. But it really didn't work for me, long-term.

Heimplanet is making good looking designs lately. The inside pockets are very good for tablets or notebooks and avoid falling down. Also good the secret one. Perhaps the laptop one could be better. But it looks like it wants to be a light bag. To me, a very important feature is how the bags suits your body, how tight you can put it on your back. Don't know how this one might be. As always, a pleasure to watch.

Great news, looking forward to this bag. I have Transit 35L and it is great bag, I love they made the EDC version finally. I have used Minal daily and Evergoods CHZ 22, but I miss something on both of them. I was considering CPL 24 but I would prefer this one if I decide to order another bag.
I would prefer separated laptop compartment just for airport checks, but I guess that extra zipper would help when you have to pull out your laptop from full backpack.

You definitely have a bunch of great bags in your collection. Considering you already have a heimplanet, you will feel right at home with the 24l version

I hace version 1 sort to speak and always missed a bigger quick access pocket (version 1 had only one external quick access and was fairly small) this is great. Heimplanet quality is top notch (also have the old travel bag)

I would agree with regard to padding on a smaller bag. I am not going to be carrying too much with a smaller bag so I don't need the padding. That does look like a great bag. Thanks for your thoughts and the walkthrough of the bag!

First! Ha! Sorry. After all this years ;-) Never had a Heimplanet tbh. Still rocking the Apex. But it looks cool, reminds me a bit on the CPL. In some kind at least. Take care Bo!

Great video. I recently got a new bag but this would have been high up my list. One thing I thought with those attached elastic keepers on the shoulder strap is that (potentially) if you wanted to have the backpack tighter and higher on you back the excess strap might bunch up with nowhere to go. Not sure if you experienced that - minor point anyway.

Is it just me or is this extremely similar to the CPL24?

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I guess at first glance the shape is kinda reminiscent to the cpl24. But at closer look it is completely different in look and features. But if I had to choose between the two I would have a hard time. Both are amazing
