The idea of multiverse is to make what ifs about already established characters in the series and having them interact woth other characters both from DBZ and DBM originals.

"Dragon Ball Kakumei" is absolutely Amazing, not only the Art looks Fantastic, but the Story and Writing is what got these Authors to actually Understood the Dragon Ball series as a Whole, This is something that "Dragon Ball Multiverse" should desperately need to take Notes and Lessons from it.
Nah, sorry, but Kakumei's art style, while impressive, doesn't feel like dragon ball. It's way to dark with has little to non of dragon balls goofiness, comedic or light hearted elements. But I agree on the multiverse point

But saying he "didn't only care about fighting" kind of overlooks how much the series shifted over time. Because with Z the focus clearly leaned more on battles and power-ups. While the comedy never disappeared, it definitely took a backseat to the action, and the fighting became the main draw. As for Dragon Ball not being meant to be "edgy" i'd argue it's more nuanced than that. Toriyama might not have intended for it to be dark or overly serious, but parts of Z, like the Frieza or Android saga are undeniably intense and emotional. Not only me but many other fans felt deeper "connected" with those moments, so it's not surprising some people see the series as more than just lighthearted fun. You should read "An Earth without Goku" It's a fan manga inspired by dragon ball multiverse. Right now It's forty chapters and it explores the events of an Earth where Goku never arrived, the earthlings are now the ones that must protect the Earth and face off against many villains.

The thing is, most villains simply wanted to rule the world in the early days. Pilaf, RR Army, even Piccolo. However, from Raditz onwards the threat was total genocide of all life. The only serious threat left would be Babidi, but he wasn’t even drawn to Earth until sensing the battle with Cell and determining he could use the energy of Earth’s super beings to resurrect Buu.
Surprised that Dragon Ball After didn't get a mention. It's another fan manga by Young Jiji, a continuation of Dragon Ball Z which, while it does play into the overused "evil Goku" trope, the art and plot developments, as well as the utilization of Piccolo, has made it one of if not my favorite fan manga out right now. Jiji's personal circumstances have made it hard for him to release new volumes, but hopefully everything works out for him and he's able to continue the series to whatever end he has in sight for it.
A lot of these can be listened to/watched on Mondo Cool’s channel, I always get happy when I see him drop a new video for New Hope and Hakai, I highly recommend listening to him tell the tales
Honestly one of my favorite things about New Hope is ironically some of it's movie character explanations. Turles & Slug taking each other out after a double cross to me has always been my headcanon as to what canonically happened to them, since that feels like it'd just kinda fit into canon for some reason.

I used to watch it a lot, I have to make the video go at max speed just to deal with him purposely taking his time to say every line just to make what could be a 20 minute video, 40+. The story beats are pretty stupid and uninteresting to me after a while. Like, it loses its magic after a few chapters for me. Tried to get back into it, just can't.
You also should check Dragon Ball, a world without Goku. It's well drawn and it re-tells the OG Dragon Ball and early DBZ story very well. It branched away from Dragon Ball Multiverse and now is it's own thing.
My favorite is a new hope because it still feels like dragon ball, a lot of these feel overly edgy/exaggerated, but everything from the fights, training, losing hope and rise (I don’t wanna spoil it).
I really like Hakai! Im kinda sad it was so low. You clearly like the comedy of certain series, and even the original creations- and I think Hakai does that nicely! It's somewhat lighthearted while also building on other things Im glad yougave New Hope a lot of respect, by the way. It absolutely belongs there.

It's no wonder two of the creators got snatched up for the Dragon Room, everyone here is clearly incredibly skilled and has done well for themselves, expanding on a franchise that, in all honesty, its own creative team has struggled with.
Ngl. The ONLY side-story I wished we got more of was the "Kakkarot"(maybe Uni6,if I recall correctly)...WAS VERY INTERESTING,because we NEVER got to see what Goku,as Kakkarot would've done...also seeing Kakkarot's and Raditz's bond get established and strenghtwn from the little we got was truely nice because Raditz DESERVED BETTER...loved the side story and only wished we got more in-depth with it bc. of how unique and how interestingly written it was... Anyhow Ik that it's just a small snippit from the other stories,but the story was really what jiggled the Dragon's Balls😊
You guys need to read “A Story Without Goku” It’s based on the universes 3 and 9 from multiverse (mostly on universe 9). It’s the best fan manga I have ever read (alongside Ultra Vegito and New Hope) and I have read every fan manga. Even that one where Uub turns into kid buu and Goku and Vegeta travel through the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to meet the ancient Saiyans. Hats off to anyone who knows about this
You know one thing I noticed is that. Other anime has fan fics But Dragon Ball has Fan Mangas that you can actually read. And almost all of them are GOATED. My favorite is Dragon Ball Multiverse, Kakumei. Kakumei literally has everything we always wanted to see in Dragon Ball with peak art style (I still love Akira sensei's art style) And multiverse is basically every what if question we'd have with our homies
No dragon ball elsewhere? Boooo, that story is so good and just kind of stopped on a cliffhanger like 4 years back. It’s about Yamcha going on his own adventure with the wolf clan and snake clan.
One small correction I would like to make is that in Dragon Ball New Hope, it's not that Gohan DOESN'T achieve Super Saiyan 2. It's that Cell after returning back to life as Super Perfect Cell is much much stronger than how he was in DBZ; easily overpowering Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 and winning the final one-handed Kamehameha beam struggle with him and killing everyone

I agree with your opinion on Dragon Ball Hakai. Goku is more of a free-spirited individual, and though, not canon, a solid argument against God Of Destruction Goku is that he explicitly tells this in Xenoverse 2 (not sure about the first game) in a unique vs. interaction against Whis. Specifically, Super Saiyan 4 Goku. Whis tries to offer the position of destroyer god to Goku, but he blatantly refuses, saying "C'mon Whis, you know I'm not like that" or something along those lines. Besides, Goku was never good with formal stuff and being in line to begin with. He'd much rather continue aiming higher without that spot because it might even be more restrictive for him because he has to do his job of destroying planets and life, which he almost never does and prefers to not kill or destroy. It goes against the character itself to have him be a God Of Destruction. Overall, I don't like it, that's why I never finished reading it.

I just realised since everyone was dead in a new hope trunks never got revived and that means that the androids never died and that means they got absorbed by cell and that majin buu got revived or maybe cell killed them before they could revive him and then goku black and zamasu kill cell or buu depending on what you think happened and that means that the zero mortal plan actually happens so yeah that's quite dark
The goat for me is probably Dragon Ball New Hope just for the sake of making Krillin an amazing character and making Goten an actual being in the series! But outside of that, there's one story that I wish people knew more about, that's a personal favourite of mine: Dragon Ball Elsewhere A story about Yamcha's 7 year time skip between Cell Saga and Majin's Buu Saga. "The story begins with Yamcha returning to his old hideout in the Diablo desert, as he reflects on recent events in his life after Cell's defeat. It is revealed that having felt that he hadn't contributed enough during the battle against Cell and the Androids, Yamcha had pursued his training further, spending 6 months training in the gravity room at Capsule Corp, managing to push through numerous injury and eventually mastering 400x gravity. Deciding that this was not enough, however, Yamcha continues further by traveling to Kami's lookout, now the home of Earth's newest guardian Dende, and making use of the Room of Spirit and Time, training there for two days." -that's what happened in the first chapter, prologue if you can call it that. The last chapter was released around Summer of 2020 and ever since..well, there is almost zero information online I found regarding the state of the series OR the author (RMK) himself. And it's frustrating as I really love that fan project. So SUPER RAMY, if you are reading it, maybe it can catch your interest if you never seen this one. I believe it should. It has one of the best DB battles I've ever seen, drawn of animated and there's just something to it that's really saying to me and makes me come back from time to time to it.
These are not better than the official. These are literally stories which were given way more time with hind sight. It's not fair at all to the original fantastic canon series.
Kakumei is better than DBS, art-wise and in terms of writing, many people have given their own takes for a better DBS and they've been pretty good, some stinkers but mainly decent rewrites.
@@TrueJudgementCut I mainly like how Kakumei uses 17's wish, DBS's later arcs just ignore it and while they have better writing than the TOP & GB Arc, they just don't hit like Buu and Cell saga, Kakumei kinda gives me the vibe of a upscaled Buu saga and TOP arc put together.

You guys need to read “A Story Without Goku” It’s based on the universes 3 and 9 from multiverse (mostly on universe 9). It’s the best fan manga I have ever read (alongside Ultra Vegito and New Hope) and I have read every fan manga. Even that one where Uub turns into kid buu and Goku and Vegeta travel through the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to meet the ancient Saiyans. Hats off to anyone who knows about this

Another fan manga is Dragonball After, which happens after z with goku turning evil. It’s good because it gives characters like piccolo respect.
You know one thing I noticed is that. Other anime has fan fics
But Dragon Ball has Fan Mangas that you can actually read. And almost all of them are GOATED.
My favorite is Dragon Ball Multiverse, Kakumei. Kakumei literally has everything we always wanted to see in Dragon Ball with peak art style (I still love Akira sensei's art style)
And multiverse is basically every what if question we'd have with our homies

It really is so good. Great piece of work for sure.
One small correction I would like to make is that in Dragon Ball New Hope, it's not that Gohan DOESN'T achieve Super Saiyan 2. It's that Cell after returning back to life as Super Perfect Cell is much much stronger than how he was in DBZ; easily overpowering Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 and winning the final one-handed Kamehameha beam struggle with him and killing everyone

I agree with your opinion on Dragon Ball Hakai. Goku is more of a free-spirited individual, and though, not canon, a solid argument against God Of Destruction Goku is that he explicitly tells this in Xenoverse 2 (not sure about the first game) in a unique vs. interaction against Whis. Specifically, Super Saiyan 4 Goku. Whis tries to offer the position of destroyer god to Goku, but he blatantly refuses, saying "C'mon Whis, you know I'm not like that" or something along those lines. Besides, Goku was never good with formal stuff and being in line to begin with. He'd much rather continue aiming higher without that spot because it might even be more restrictive for him because he has to do his job of destroying planets and life, which he almost never does and prefers to not kill or destroy. It goes against the character itself to have him be a God Of Destruction. Overall, I don't like it, that's why I never finished reading it.

And I have to say the Goku vs Vegeta fight was peak
I just realised since everyone was dead in a new hope trunks never got revived and that means that the androids never died and that means they got absorbed by cell and that majin buu got revived or maybe cell killed them before they could revive him and then goku black and zamasu kill cell or buu depending on what you think happened and that means that the zero mortal plan actually happens so yeah that's quite dark
Another mention is db gine reboot where it's a what if story where gine land on earth with goku
I'm a bit bummed out that nothing from Rising Fist was covered here
The goat for me is probably Dragon Ball New Hope just for the sake of making Krillin an amazing character and making Goten an actual being in the series!
But outside of that, there's one story that I wish people knew more about, that's a personal favourite of mine:
Dragon Ball Elsewhere
A story about Yamcha's 7 year time skip between Cell Saga and Majin's Buu Saga.
"The story begins with Yamcha returning to his old hideout in the Diablo desert, as he reflects on recent events in his life after Cell's defeat. It is revealed that having felt that he hadn't contributed enough during the battle against Cell and the Androids, Yamcha had pursued his training further, spending 6 months training in the gravity room at Capsule Corp, managing to push through numerous injury and eventually mastering 400x gravity. Deciding that this was not enough, however, Yamcha continues further by traveling to Kami's lookout, now the home of Earth's newest guardian Dende, and making use of the Room of Spirit and Time, training there for two days."
-that's what happened in the first chapter, prologue if you can call it that.
The last chapter was released around Summer of 2020 and ever since..well, there is almost zero information online I found regarding the state of the series OR the author (RMK) himself.
And it's frustrating as I really love that fan project.
So SUPER RAMY, if you are reading it, maybe it can catch your interest if you never seen this one. I believe it should. It has one of the best DB battles I've ever seen, drawn of animated and there's just something to it that's really saying to me and makes me come back from time to time to it.

These are not better than the official. These are literally stories which were given way more time with hind sight. It's not fair at all to the original fantastic canon series.

Kakumei is better than DBS, art-wise and in terms of writing, many people have given their own takes for a better DBS and they've been pretty good, some stinkers but mainly decent rewrites.

@@TrueJudgementCut I mainly like how Kakumei uses 17's wish, DBS's later arcs just ignore it and while they have better writing than the TOP & GB Arc, they just don't hit like Buu and Cell saga, Kakumei kinda gives me the vibe of a upscaled Buu saga and TOP arc put together.
