Very good recipe. I substituted maida with whole wheat flour and used jaggery in place of sugar. It required more milk( than mentioned) to make a smooth batter though. Thank you.

Koi confusion nahi hai dear. It is simple. If you take 1 cup maida means 150 g maida or 1and 1/4 cup maida, 6" cake tin is good. If you take 1 and 1/2 cup or 2 cups of maida take 8 " cake tin. hamesha cake tin ka 1/3 portion khali rahna chahiye batter daalne ke baad. kyuki cake foolta hai.
