also question!! have you read "on earth we're briefly gorgeous" by ocean vuong? i'm reading it right now on top of watching his readings and interviews and i'm in awe of how articulate he is and how lyrical his writing is. i really suggest his novel, along with his poetry book "night sky with exit wounds"!! on the complete opposite end of the spectrum: i also recommend the manga blue period! i feel like it's a relatable and profound read for any creative, but especially those who are into art specifically :)

That reminder at the end to appreciate the smaller moments really hit me hard.. I've always lived a life of productivity. If I wasn't doing something with my day, I wasn't doing anything productive, and I'd hate myself for it. This year I am trying to slow down, spend some time with myself, but also appreciate moments with my friends and family, rather than stressing about doing chores, tasks and other stuff that can come later. I've only started doing this in the last 2 weeks, and I have found myself happier

Even though I'm not of Asian decent, I really love celebrating Lunar New Years because I think it's just such a beautiful holiday. I've also started beginning my new years resolutions on the lunar new year rather than regular new year. For me, it gives me some time to settle into the new year, get classes situated, and give me some time to relax before diving straight into them right after the holidays. I was wanting to start going to the gym and focusing on my art studies more this year, so last week I started doing that and it feels really manageable! I'm really glad I waited until feb to start doing it, because I feel like staring in jan would have been too overwhelming.
