Thanks for your reaction. They are brilliant aren’t they? Stray kids are an 8 member, self producing group. Bangchan is the leader and the oldest, b 1997. The member you think looks like Felix is Hyunjin a most fantastic dancer. You sound as if you like the dancing. If that’s the case you might like to see their dance practices for their songs. So good. Look forward to seeing more Stray Kids reactions.

Thank you so much for your comment. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. Thank you for confirming that it was Hyunjin. I actually watched the collaboration that he did with Yeji, and he's an amazing dancer who has a lot of control over his movements.

GQ Magazine interviewed: Felix said he got his deep voice from his father. Felix said his father have a very low deep voice. Felix said when he was 13, he woke up one morning with a deep voice. Felix said he thought he was sick. He asked his mother was he sick, she said no, you're going through puberty.

Wow, I'm sure that must have been a shock. Normally, male voices just go naturally and slowly, but for it to just hit you, it definitely must have been life changing. Clearly, for the better

    About Stray Kids:
3Racha - Stray Kids' main writing and production unit, consisting of Bang Chan (the leader of Stray Kids), Changbin and Han (two of their main rappers)
Bang Chan was an idol trainee at JYP for several years. While waiting to debut with a group, he formed a rap group called 3Racha with two other trainees, Changbin and Han. They wrote and produced their own music. JYP gave Bang Chan the highly unusual opportunity to help develop his own idol group (which they did through a reality show, but Bang Chan had WAYYYY more say in picking the members than pretty much any other idol trainee in the industry), and when Stray Kids was formed 3Racha was absorbed into that group.
3Racha still performs on occasion. Several of their songs / videos are posted on TH-cam. They write and produce (and often compose/arrange) the vast majority of the music for Stray Kids. But over the years the other members have also gotten involved in writing and production.
    ----------------------------------
Stray Kids debuted in 2018. They started with 9 members (in their early videos, you'll see 9 people performing) but Woojin left in Oct 2019. Stray Kids have been an 8-member group ever since.
    ----------------------------------
DanceRacha - their main dance unit (Hyunjin, Felix (the deep-voiced guy), and Lee Know). But all 8 members dance very well.
    ----------------------------------
VocalRacha - their main vocal unit (Seungmin and I.N). But again, all 8 members have great singing voices and they switch around on lead vocals, depending on the song.
    ----------------------------------
Main rappers - Changbin, Han, Hyunjin and Felix - however unlike many K-pop groups, all 8 members can and have rapped, depending on the song.
    ----------------------------------
    Languages:
Bang Chan (the leader of the group) and Felix (deep-voiced guy) are both Korean-Australian, so English is their first language. The other 6 members speak English with varying degrees of fluency.
All 8 members are fluent in both Korean and Japanese. The group can sing and rap in all three languages.
    ----------------------------------
Not all of their music is super hard all the time.
Stray Kids also write / sing beautiful ballads and have also written a few songs for K-drama, anime and video game soundtracks. They also collab with / produce for other idol groups and individual artists from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand and the U.S.

god's menu is the title track of an album called "go live", back door is the title track of an album called "in live". "in live" is a repackage album of "go live". god's menu and back door were released just a few months apart, and a some characters you see in god's menu (kitchen chefs, the girls - who are Niziu members) also appear in back door. they also have a connection in the song meanings - to understand this point I have to explain the story line a bit.
stray kids have a story line connecting their music videos, this story line was especially obvious before god's menu. the idea was that they lived in a place where they are trained to become perfect and the same. they escape that place and start traveling around (including traveling in different universes) in order to find their own path.
god's menu is the result of that travel, after they found their path, in god's menu they talk confidently about who they are and what they want. in back door they create a safe space for their fans and invite everyone (lyrically and MV-wise there are references to their debut album teaser and to the debut video).
I recommend you to not ignore their pre-god's menu songs, because they are amazing as well.

They have a lot of content called Stray Kids Survival, Skz Code and Skz in a room that give you insight into dynamic and the different relationships between the guys. They are also unintentionally hilarious.

4:59 its because the video is a representation of themselves. The construction, chefs and chemists represents how they've built up their careers and how they created their sound, mixing things up and experimenting. The chefs also represent their large variety of music and sounds and how if you dont like one specific song thats ok because they've done just about everything so there is bound to be something you like. I forget what the cars mean lol but you get the idea

They make their music and are so prolific that they probably have the next two comebacks lined up already as they promote the current one. So being able to tease the next one is not surprising in that context and super flex. They also do annual teaser videos about what they plan to release/do in the year ahead at the end of each year.

@@KyleBlooreyep they used to be 9 members but one left at the end of 2019 just before their comeback for the album ‘cle: Levanter’ which was the album just before the one with ‘God’s menu’ (the ‘go live’ album). So music vids from 2017 to the end of 2019 have the 9th member. The members have since embraced that they are now 8 often getting a little annoyed when publications use old photos of them as 9 members. They have also re-recorded most of their old songs and released them as OT8 versions of the albums ‘SKZ2020’ and ‘SKZ2021’.

@@KyleBloore a guide video is always recommended to learn more about the members and their music, there is a great one called ‘the complete 2024 guide to stray kids’ by Chandra’s World. It is 2 hours long but certainly worth the watch (and if you react to it Stay will be with you the whole time, we don’t mind long videos).
However the newer guides don’t tend to mention the ex member, Woojin. There was a lot of controversy and accusations going around about him when he left and shortly after. Whilst the controversies were either proven false or simply had little evidence to support them, it was still true that his sudden departure from the group caused a lot of confusion and hurt. After all the boys had been preparing for a comeback which then had to be completely re worked on a very tight schedule and the remaining members were visibly distressed. They had a lot more work thrust upon them, after all Woojin was their main singer at the time so other members had to step into that role, the remaining members also kept apologising on stage asking fans not to leave them, even breaking down crying as they did so and Bang Chan (the leader) kept apologising for not being able to keep the group as 9. Some (so called) fans attacked (verbally and written) either Woojin or the Stray Kids members (especially Bang Chan), even sending death threats. Because there was no official reason given for Woojin’s departure other than ‘personal reasons’, imaginations ran wild as to why it happened with some believing he was kicked out for doing something wrong or others believing he was bullied out, neither of which were confirmed. Woojin has since spoken up and whilst I don’t personally follow him since his solo music wasn’t to my taste and I try to stay out of Twitter drama (usually caused by angry ‘fans’) I believe he left of his own accord and didn’t understand at the time that his actions would hurt and confuse a lot of people.
There are some fans who won’t believe him/ don’t want to have anything to do with Woojin, it was an emotional time and a lot of the fans who were there during that time were extremely hurt and so many won’t talk about Woojin. The SKz members themselves have moved on and been thriving as 8, they even mentioned when rewatching their own performances in a video that ‘Levanter’ (the first title track without Woojin) was their true start, especially as the next title song ‘god’s menu’ was when they blew up and became super popular. Also they’ve been an 8 member group longer than a 9 member group and the vast majority of their fans have only known them as 8, so that’s why guide videos won’t mention him. This isn’t just a Stray kids thing though, many times when a group has had a member leave, after a while their guide videos simply won’t mention the ex member because they aren’t as relevant to the group anymore, whether they left of their own accord or not.
I know this is a really long comment and explanation I just thought it best to mention that the up to date guides are the best for getting to know the group as they are now and that they won’t explain about Woojin.
To summarise, you are welcome to do some research on your own and make your own conclusions but it may be difficult as there is a lot of information that’s biased either for or against Woojin, I have done my best to make my explanation neutral but there is likely to be some bias in there too. He has a solo career and his own fans called Cubs, if you like his music you are welcome to follow him as it’s your decision to do so. There will always be people in all fandoms who like to cause drama and spread hate but please remember whilst they are loud they are the minority, it’s best to ignore them and keep doing what you want to do. Just note it might be best not to mention Woojin in videos about Stray kids and not to mention Stray Kids should you make videos about Woojin.
      I hope this helps.
To end off on a more up beat note I thought it might be nice to mention how the fandom refers to each other some times. For the first year or so of being a fan you will likely be called a Baby Stay since you are new to the fandom. Many of the older Stay who have been following the group since debut or soon after tend to refer to themselves as Fossil Stay. Every now and then, toddler stay, teen stay and adult stay are used but no where near as often. The names don’t tend to refer to the age of the fan themselves but rather their time within the fandom. We do have fans ranging from young children all the way to mature adults in their 70s and 80s, SKZ music is extremely inclusive. And thus welcome to rabbit whole Baby Stay.

The Back Door Tease in God's Menu was 100% intentional but its not a thing that Stray Kids have done very often. I'm also new to K-Pop but the only other instance of teasing the next song at the end of a Video I know for sure is ATEEZ in Bouncy (and that was a musical tease at that)
IN LIFE was the Album that Back Door was on which also included a rerelease of Gods Menu (it was their first Full length Album). Gods Menu was originally released on the Album Go Live which was before IN Life. Some of their albums with thematic through-lines have similar names (last year's 5-Star and Rock Star for Example)

    They debuted in 2018
    They are ages 23 - 26
    Fandom name is Stay
    #2 Best Selling Artist in U.S 2023
    #3 Globally Best Selling 2023
They are unique for several reasons...
First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company.
Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write.
Third, they have written and produced about 99% of their music.
Numbers of songs each member has copyrighted according to Korean Music Association (KOMCA) so far...
Bang Chan 182 (#3 in KPop)
    Changbin 154 (#11)
    Han 148 (#12)
    Hyunjin 27
    Felix 22
    I.N 21
    Seungmin 20
    Lee Know 17
While they can all do everything they do have 3 different subunits...
3Racha... Bang Chan, Chang Bin and Han which are the main producers. They are always credited as 3Racha.
    3Racha Achievements
    - Four Time Billboard 200 #1 Producers
    - Hot 100 Hitmakers
    - 3rd, 11th, 12th Most Credited Idols on KOMCA
    - Produced Albums Sold Over 20 Million Copies
    - Japan Hot 100 Hitmakers
    - 100+ Weeks on Hot 100 Lyricists
    - 100+ Weeks On Hot 100 Composers
    - 2023 Asia Artist Awards Best Creator
    - Makers of Time Magazines 2020 #8 Best Song (their song Backdoor)
Danceracha... Lee Know (in charge of leading dance practices), Felix and Hyunjin. They also contribute to the choreography.
    Vocalracha... Seungmin and I.N
While the songs are hype they always have significant meaning to them. Their lyricism is always insane.
Since they are so experimental their sound has its own genre and they have a very diverse discography.
Example... Gods Menu, Back Door and Case 143 all completely different sounds.

I remember my intro to stray kids. The first song was Venom, when seungmans voice came in… I have since become so involved with K-pop! Stray kids are so diverse and talented. They dance, sing, rap and the music videos are awesome. The newer songs Lalalala and rock version at a music award show are fantastic. They have a lore and history - just so fun to follow. I will subscribe to watch your journey.😊

The „In life „ is one of their albums of which „Back door“ is in.
I`ll put a time stamp of the members, but for a better info, I highly recommend a „guide to straykids video“ ( which i`ll link 2 very good ones below, you may chose) 😊 believe me, you’ll learn to love these guys more, for not only their immaculate talents but also for their chaotic and warm personalities!

    2: th-cam.com/video/SsaaldZ-bCA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2QYyQZBoI66nnDwP
    Age order:
    Bangchan: 9:20
    Leeknow: 8:27
    Changbin: 10:32
    Hyunjin: 9:01
    Han: 9:56
    Felix: 10:59
    Seungmin: 10:06
    I.N: 10:14
If your into the dances, ill highly recommend you check out their dance practice video, preferably the ones you’ve reacted to the mv or lyric video of, to avoid spoiling it for you 😅
I know you had previously mentioned that you were only gonna react to their latest ones, and i totally understand since it might be very overwhelming, but pls i hope you donn`t miss out on their old song because believe me, they’re bangers.
E.g. their debut song „Hellevator „ and others such as, Levanter , Victory, Miroh, Awkward Silence, and more hahah
Unlike many other groups, straykids are 99% self produced in terms of their music, lyric writing, sound etc giving them an opportunity to be more personal in their lyricism with stays😊
Their whole discorgraphy very well showcase their talent to create music their unique yet different styles of music genres be it Rap, a bit of rock, R&B and more.
I hope this helps a bit!😊❤ hope you enjoy your STRAYKIDS journey, im looking forward to i!

3 songs are not enough. U have to go more into strat kids. U’ll not regret it. Trust me.
And dont worry, u’re not being racist. The other person is hyunjin and people always tend to confused them both, felix and hyunjin. And they both are really close as well (all 8 of them are really2 close btw, but felix and hyunjin sometimes do things together just the 2 of them)

    • @KyleBloore

It honestly makes me glad to hear someone say that because once I said it, I was like, "I hope this isn't going to be bad when I upload it." After watching these MVs again, I can see that there is a difference, but I'm glad you said it. I can also tell that they're close, at least from the videos here that they play well off each other.
