- Khajiyaar May-June 2013 : Out of the 2 songs which i recorded this is my favorite one.
This is a song about feelings of a Indian wife living in Northern Himachal Pradesh who's husband goes of to far off places for job or service and she demanding her husband to take her with him because of the hardships she has to face when he is not here with her
The singer is singing one of the version of the song and there are others with little variation in lyrics, So translating what is sung.. as it is.

English - Mother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law does not let me live peacefully, not even let me drink few sips of cold water
Ankhi diyaan charkha kat bo, hai mere banku deya chachua
English Direct - I get spinning wheels in my eyes, my Banku's dad. (because of restlessness)
English Indirect - I just wait for you to come home ..spinning wheel of time in my eyes, my Banku's dad.
Rotiyaan Pakadiyaan jo garmi je lagdi, Bhandeyaan manjadi jo sardi je lagdi
English - I feel very warm when making roti (i.e. india bread), i feel very cold when washing the dishes. (generally the area in which she lives is cold)
Ek Chota deya..Nikka deya naukar rakh wo...hai mere banku deya chachua
English - Keep/Employ a little servant for me...my Banku's dad. (i.e. servant who is young)
Appe te turi chale naukri te chaakari..meki te deyi gaye khurpa te dhatari
English - You go for Job/service far from her ...and give Hoe and Sickle ( i.e. for working in farm)
Sara din kaame kane thaki jaanda lakk wo..mere banku deya chachua.
English - I get pain in my waist/backpain because of working all day long ( i.e. working in Farms or fields)

I just laughed on finding this...When I was in grade 7 around 30 years back and my sister was in 2nd grade..they did folk dance and I always remembered the wordings of all the songs and dances...I just thought to type in while looking for KV Palampur...I wish to see outside building and road of KV in two parts..junior and senior and there was Army Bharti Office where my Dad was appointed at that time as we were posted in Palampur for few years while in 3rd Dogra Regiment...Its nostalgic and beautiful feeling to again listen those songs and words...Thank you so much for posting this..And yes,,you really sang well...I loved it!...It would be great to hear "Bhala Sipahiya dogariya" in your voice...

A small error in the translation given in the description. In the Dogri spoken in Jammu region "aakh" (आख) means "to say" or "to tell" (बोलना, कहना) not आँख. Here "aakh" means "say" not "eyes". Hence "aakh dian (not ankhi dian) charkha kat wo" would be: "They (the mother-in-law and the sister-in-law) tell me to work on the spinning wheel". In the song there is nothing about eyes or spinning wheel in the eyes. In Hindi it would be thus: सास ननंद कहतीं हैं चरखा कातो।

Place Khajjiar ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khajjiar) . He is local singer in Khajjiar his name is Saran Das. Search you tube for Khajjiar and you will see more songs and place videos

I went to Khajjiar and recorded it myself so i have no doubts about it..
