I am beyond amazed and impressed at the pace they keep still, after all these decades later...
What absolutely beautiful performance by a great band ,that I had the pure pleasure of growing up with.
Surely even the most ardent FF fanatic must hear that this is a heavy and competent performance of this song, even if they despise the band post-FF or post-Rick. If you can't hear it, you're so deep in your nostalgia that you can no longer listen to Quo objectively. I'm not the biggest fan of post-Parfitt Quo either but this particular performance goes hard.

I like this version. Softer Ride was always my theme song. When I was finally retiring and colleagues what ask me what I was going to to do in retirement, I'd dance around singing "I ain't gonna work, I ain't gonna work no more! And never again will I have to be....down!" They thought I had skipped a groove, but that had happened years ago.

They unironically kind of were part of early metal with tracks like "Need Your Love" (very SOAD-esque) in 1970(!) and later, to a lesser extent, with tracks like "Rain".

Whitout a doubt one of the greatest Rock bands 😮 no Riffs like Slash or Keith, but it's Quo and that's enough

Probably the only pure Rock-and-Roll band that can match Status Quo...is AC DC. But it's not a competition. Nobody does R&R like Quo...whatever version. There were a couple of English bands that did this kind of meat-and-potatoes R&R. Slade was another. They just take the best of three chord rock and make endless variations on it...and somehow they still come up with decent ideas. Let's hope they live for a long time yet...cause the world needs rock & roll.

Have a look at status quotes, a Dutch tribute band that knocks spots of this shower, rossi's lead playing is pathetic compared to how he used to play and andy Bowen on guitar, embarrassing.
