You missed the only adult of the group having fought in Stalingrad. Combine ptsd with the distant sounds of the parachute mines and panick is not far away.
Even 1 I’ve seen a thousand times everywhere else already, it still turns out to be better here TC. Tons of photos to do with this that I hadn’t ever seen before. Especially the missing head 3:26 What the heck is going on in that photo ?!? Am I tripping?
My thoughts exactly! I wanted to make this same comment - I feel a little ashamed each time I'm thanked by Mike as he's the one putting in so much work and all I'm doing is loving his channel!!
I really like that you don't have a deep voice and "creepy drone music" it's a lot more of a unique experience watching this than other videos of this type.
This story always creeps me out and i bet the guy who decided to turn back was freaked the hell out when he found out. Knowing he could've been dead also if he had stayed, the guy saved himself.
@@maryjane4432 I know, but still does not make sense, what I mean is ( I guess he knew something ) fo ex: maybe he notice or sees something wired over the last days of his trip with them.
This story has always puzzled me, the tent looked like a bear attack but their injuries were like they were all in a car accident...it's one of the weirdest things. I loved that you covered it, it's a truly strange story.
@@babygrinchjr6016 Yeah they absolutely could...but then it would have mauled and then ate the people inside. It didn't though, the victims had mostly internal injuries "like that of a car accident" so why didn't the victims have some sort of lacerations or blood loss? That's what I was questioning
There were no other sets of tracks except theirs, no sign of animal mauling, and nothing that indicates a bear destroyed the tent looking for food. The tent was cut open from the inside so something must've panicked them, but once they got outside, they walked (not ran) as a group away from it judging by their footprints. It's like they were under an evil trance.
If it was a bear, the bear would have taken one of them and buried them in the snow to come back and eat them later. It's something bears do has a kind of storage thing. Especially knowing food is scarce for animals and anything really near that area, a bear would not pass up leaving fresh food. Watch the show Golden Kamuy it's an anime that actually shows this in the very first episode when a bear kills a man and burying it for later
People Today: ""It's been 3 minutes and they haven't texted me back!!"" People Then: "If they aren't back in another week we might go check on them...."
@@SigHellion I think it's just being more aware that thing can happen when someone isn't responding as usual people get worried it's nit about instant gratifying
@@blu3bugjunkie420 Truly, I’m sure humans have always been aware of what can happen - and the implications for previous generations was certainly more dire - if you lost relatives and loved ones chances are the farm wouldn’t have enough hands to work it or if in cities - not enough income to pay for ones dwelling. I do not think humans are “more aware” when in previous generations disappearance meant a greater chance of death and discomfort.
It would be interesting, but unlikely. Well we usually translate this mountain's name as "Dead" it's actually closer to barren, literally "lack of game".
I've watched every video I could about this. "Parachute mines" is the best theory I've ever heard, most logical and plausible that fits most of circumstances I've heard of. Well done this is not just repeating what everyone else says about it.
Agreed. A great, fresh perspective. Well done. I also agree that the mine parachute theory makes the most sense...but what about the missing eyes, tongue and lips and the other crushing injuries found beneath unblemished skin on most? It seems more other-worldly than our own behind this. Perhaps both? Wrong place, wrong time for this unfortunate group.
The missing eyes, lips and tongue are more easily explained, they are the soft tissue areas. It's very common that birds will eat these areas first. Very common. The bodies are frozen but these parts are easy for small animals to eat. And blasts and falls can cause internal crush injuries. I really believe this explanation fits everything perfectly.
not to forget, when the two men discovered the camp sight, there were military style boot impressions allready at the sight. This is an interesting case indeed. Cheers Mike.
Because they were killed by the military. I read a comprehensive article about that tragedy and now have a pretty good idea about what happened. Before that, that story had been bothering me for a long time..
I had never heard of the infrasound theory but that does sound most likely. Either way, this is an insanely chilling story on all fronts. Keep up the great work, Mike!
With infrasound, only 1 in 25 ppl suffer at all and in those circumstances vomiting usually precedes that. All of there stomach had most of there dinner. They have tried repeating the results and couldn’t. Which sucks because that guys book was awesome until that last section where he is suspending all logic and just cramming it down your throat.
@@ThatChapter I've been trying to convey to you a case in Newton County Georgia, United States. Guy killed his new born and tried to say someone set him up. They televised the trial on TH-cam. The childs mother was his cousin. A whole mess of meth, inbreeding, and overall fucking debauchery! The guys name is Chris McNabb. Google his name and the county I mentioned above. Plenty of stuff to cover.
Thanks, I never heard once that the tongue missing was due to being face down in water. People always try to make that the spookiest part of the story instead because hey, it sells the story.
Weird part is they found some blood coagulation inside tje girls body.... Implying that the tongue is being cut before shes dead... Head concussion and broken riba in some of the body just like in 411 missing... Its just click man..
I think one of the parties must of been hungry or wanted food/blood to stay warm and attacked the weakest person in their panic and drive to stay alive. Going for the easiest edible things like tongue and eyes. It’s possible.
@@Duhddy I think i read something that said stomach contents of them were searched for the missing parts of the bodies. But the missing body parts were not found there. Sorry for my English. I think i managed to make my point though.
As a Russian, I've studied a lot on this topic - as much as it was possible. I also tend to think they were killed, and the killers did everything to make it all seem a weird accident. Investigation was murky, it was highly likely that cover up happened on that level too. These guys could see something they were not supposed to see.
One of the best and most comprehensive expositions I've seen on this case. Thank you so much for ignoring the Abominable Snowman temptation MANY can't resist. Good job!
Good one - I've seen so many stories of this tragedy but you managed to come up with new information I hadn't heard! Whatever happened, it's a sad thing.
The lack of clothes can be explained. Many people that have been found dead from hypothermia are naked. During the final stages a person will become delirious and feel like they’re overheating and will often disrobe.
I’ve always been fascinated by this case - there is just so much that doesn’t make sense . Even if you can explain away a lot we can’t explain all of it . These were expert skiers and hikers , they would do not do something so foolish as to leave their tents without good reason . Thanks for covering it mike .
I never gravitate towars conspiracy theories and wooo the goverment....but given the time and place of the events, and the wairdly massive destruction it caused in their bodies I can only think of aome military ecercise gone wrong...
I've grown to wait each of your videos with excitement, sometimes it's a surprise, some times is just a regular day. But always a pleasure to watch. Keep up the great work
My boss is from Russia, so I always love listening to him tell stories from his culture. Today, he told me about this, and I was SO excited to see you had a video about it, since I ALWAYS look forward to seeing new content from you. I've got no idea how I missed this one?!
The first thought when you described the injuries and tans was a nuclear reaction like chernobyl. 100% going with the parachute mines. As always thank you for the high quality and very informative videos.
I always believed they died as a result of weapon tests in the area. It's the only way to explain their injuries, unless you believe a spacecraft flew over them.
@@kuayinal-kadir6846 Maybe at first they didn't knew it was their own weapons that caused it. They thought the files were going to be secret anyways, why not investigate.
There's a TH-camr called Lemmino who actually covers this topic as well. He goes on to state that the destroyed campsite was likely due to a malfunction with the makeshift stove(?) that caused the tent to become filled with smoke. In fear of suffocating they would have likely cut through the tent to both create ways for the smoke to clear, and get out. You can see the vent for this stove at this part of the video: 3:16 . Outside of what many think, the group weren't in a large state of panic. The tracks leaving the site were more mild, suggesting a much more calm approach to the situation. On their trek four of them fall into a ravine stepping on unsafe ground, causing severe injuries. A few of them hike back to the tent, while the rest attempt to make a fire to keep warm. You can watch Lemmino's video here: th-cam.com/video/Y8RigxxiilI/w-d-xo.html . He dives head long into the topic, and as far as I've seen dives deeper than where most stop; the Wiki page about this.
We are huge fans and can't thank you enough for helping our sanity during the plague. I think there was an avalanche but only a small amount of snow went over the tent. Thinking there was more behind it they ran. Injuries could have been caused by slipping, being rigid from cold and hit trees. The radiation part has me flummoxed, no explanation for that. Tanks Moyk !
I have investigated the Dyatlov Pass mystery for years, and have read every article and every book about it that I can find. It is obviously FAR more complicated that what is presented here. I am convinced that these young people died due to human action, probably military. They did indeed have injuries that were likely the result of fighting -- massive bruising, both where they would have been hit and on their knuckles as if they had fought back. They had injuries that appeared to be due to weapons -- not only the skull fractures, but bruises that appeared to be from being hit by a baton or circular injuries that matched the end of a rifle barrel, as if they'd been jammed with it. I've seen the autopsy photos, and the injuries were extensive. As far as infrasound, it affects only a small percentage of people; it is possible that one or maybe two of them may have been susceptible, but there's just no way all nine would have been. If one or two had left the tent due to panic, no way would the others have followed barefoot or with only socks on. Also, they would not have walked over a mile, including climbing a hill, before they came to their senses and realized it would be a far better idea to return to the tent. Imagine walking a mile in below freezing weather and bare feet; there's just no way they would have done that unless they'd been forced, such as at gunpoint. There are some assumptions that are made by so many people that we do not know are true. First, we know the tent was cut from the inside, but we do NOT know that it was them who did that (maybe someone cut it to confuse investigators?). We know there was a fire down by the trees, but we do NOT know that they made it (also the rescuers indicated that the fire had been extinguished intentionally (the wood was only partially burned, and there was more available firewood nearby); why in the world would they do that when they were freezing?). We know branches were broken and cut off the tall tree on the side facing the tent, but we do NOT know that they are the ones who broke and cut them (maybe someone was watching them at their tent?). There are many other examples. Also, friends of this group stated that the tent was not set up properly -- with the opening facing the wind, which Dyatlov never would have done. Also the stove (furnace) was custom-made by Dyatlov and a friend so it was not a standard design. It was never set up that night. Why not? It is possible that whoever set up the tent didn't know how to put together the stove and didn't have time to figure it out so they just left it there. Lastly, the military got involved very quickly (would you normally expect a large number of military personnel to be called out for a search for nine missing hikers?), and also called off the investigation very quickly. The head investigator was knee-deep in the investigation when he was called away; when he returned, he shut everything down very shortly thereafter, as if he'd been ordered to drop it. In addition, many have claimed that a military investigation report was begun BEFORE the hikers were even reported missing -- this report has never been released to the public but there is convincing evidence it exists. There's lots more and obviously way too much to write here. However, in short, there is simply no reasonable explanation as to why NINE intelligent and experienced outdoorsmen/hikers would have left their tent in the dark in sub-zero temperatures without shoes and walked over a mile unless they were forced to do so.

I've studied infrasound a bit and it seemed the most likely... BUT... for that many individuals to be affected to the same extent is pretty unlikely. Now... the parachute mines... Well, if the injuries are the same, then they're the same. The photo could have been of one "popping" with that thing in the middle. Great video as always. Thanks Mike.
This has gotta be my top three subs on TH-cam. I get pumped when I find a new video or one that I somehow haven’t watched already! Thanks for the time & effort you put into these.
I studied up a lot on dyatlov's pass. It was revealed later that far beneath the snow, in the revine, they found support branches and a seating area made by the last 4. It is widely believed that they dug in and made a snow cave, which eventually caved in on top of them causing their injuries.
of the theories was that there was like insanely cold wind which is why they flet. Makes sense to me, if it actually was something creepy they wouldn't have settled down in a cave
Wow, Mike! Your delivery from this video to your current videos is amazing! You have really come into your own...TC is one of my faves and always my go-to!
This is still one of the best videos I've seen about the Dyatlov Pass incident. You let the information be weird on its own without embellishing, and you mention elements of the investigation and time period that others gloss over in their rush to spout spooky stories about aliens stealing a girl's tongue. Every analysis video (excluding all the ones that, as Pvt Hudson put it, repeat the same things from each other) has some interesting variation in how the details are presented. I've yet to see anyone present the parachute mines theory OR the very non-aliens reason why parts of Ludmila's face had deteriorated to this level of detail. Interestingly, Lemmino's video brings up one conflicting detail from the investigative reports, stating the footprints indicated that the team actually walked "calmly" away after the initial panic inside the tent. Not sure how one determines if a walk was calm or not, but I guess the footprints were shallow and clean enough that it seems like whatever scared them lost its urgency as soon as they cut their way out of the tent. He also points out that their stove (the vent pipe is visible in a photo of the tent) was home-made, which may have led to some small fire or smoke prompting the prompt exit. Between possible smoke inside the tent, and possible explosions outside the tent, and maybe even weird infrasound panic wind, it sounds like there could have been too many plausible things going on that overwhelmed the group, and the vague blanket explanation of a "compelling force" left a lot of space for researchers' imaginations to run wild. Honestly, the fact that there are almost too many explanations only makes the whole thing even more interesting. It's no less bizarre and tragic for having so many realistic possibilities. Also, thanks for not randomly inserting the corpse images like some youtubers do. Nobody needs to see dead kids in order to listen to their story.
Could the ‘parachute mines’ have accounted fir the alleged tanning of their skin? If the internal injuries coinciding with a lack of external injuries is really consistent with being in too close a proximity to the blast from a ‘parachute mine’ then I’d say it pretty much has to be that. The unexplained radiation, the balls of light seen by adjacent hikers, yeah it’s pretty much got to be that one.
That makes no sense whatsoever, parachute mine detonate on the ground, they aren't radioactive and they don't glow in mid air, also this area as a test site makes no sense. Also they detonate when they make contact to the ground, why drop them in snow then. Also they got plenty of actual closed off test sites.
The place was a secret test ground for weapons for the ussr perhaps they did not just tests parachutes mines anything was possible. But in my opinion it was an astronomical event which is meteor explosion given the facts of radiations and the confusion.
Watching this 2 years later... You have DEFINITELY perfected your style since this video that seems so scripted and nervous. Now you tell stories like you lived them, without sounding like you're reading a story.
Been here from the beginning- watch and rewatching his playlist. It’s been a beautiful thing to watch him come into his own- Almost to 2 million subscribers- no one deserves it more. 🎉🤓 Love this guy!!!
I love when you cover stories I've seen before. This is a very famous one, but some of the not so famous missing person(s) cases I have seen before. Your coverage is always so detailed, well-researched, and gives things I have never seen previously. Thank you for all your videos! I am loving them!
you don't even mention one of the most well-known features of hypothermia: paradoxiaclly the body feels like its overheating, hence why so many people in situatuins of extreme cold are found in states of undress.
Yes but don't forget these are norwegians, and experienced mountain hikers, university educated. They would be fully aware of not making that mistake. Also its be difficult to imagine them all being at the exact same stage of hypothermia all at the exact same time causing them all to immediately run from their tents and safety.
jedaaa even if they’re smart and aware of this, while experiencing hypothermia you become delusional at some point. So all the training in the world can only do some much.
The best explanation for this. there injuries were caused by a thing called sheet avalanche, which is extremely heavy slide of Ice which slid over their tent crushing them.
As usual, well done dude. Was really glad to see coverage of this incident on your channel as I have been interested in it for many years and believe anyone covering these kind of topics really can't overlook this one. I noticed though, that you failed to mention it's been said that some of the members of the expedition seemed to have been 'prematurely aged'. Now I'm not sure if this was just speculation that can be easily explained by decomposition in that kind of environment, but since you usually cover all the bases it seems a little odd that you wouldn't even mention it in passing, even if it has since been explained. Either way, thumbs up, don't stop what you're doing :)
This is a story that has always fascinated me. I heard/ read somewhere that paradoxical undressing was also another theory. Where the person, while experiencing hypothermia, starts feeling really hot and starts undressing themselves. Not a very likely theory, but interesting nonetheless. Love these videos! Keep up the good work! I have been binge watching for quite a few days and have not gotten tired/ bored of the content or the narrator!
Maybe?? But then why did 3 of the members not undress?? Also my only question is how did Zinaida get so close back to the camp??? I mean she was really good clothed

I wondered why they would be testing for radiation as a cause of death during an autopsy. This is the information I was able to find as a reason: The Mayak Production Association is one of the biggest nuclear facilities in the Russian Federation, housing a reprocessing plant. The closest city is Ozyorsk. The Mayak plant was built between 1945-48, in a great hurry and in total secrecy as part of the Soviet Union's atomic bomb project. The Mayak plant has made headlines on 29 September 1957, an explosion at the site led to the release of radiation over an area of over 20,000 square miles. The accident remained secret until 1976 and is to this day the world’s third worst nuclear accident. The Mayak facility that produces plutonium has greatly affected the water quality of the lakes and rivers near it. Although the Urals is seen by Russians as their “treasure box” of minerals and gems, that view does not include the negative environmental impact that the industry has brought to the area. Today, modern environmental agencies have created nine nature reserves in the Urals that include several national wildlife parks. However, park visitors may be subjected to radiation, as cleanup efforts still continue to make the area safer for humans and wildlife alike from the dangers of past mining and nuclear power and weapons endeavors, which were often conducted in irresponsible manners. As the hikers disappeared in 1959, nearly 12 years after the Mayak accident, it is probably standard procedure to test for possible radiation contamination on clothing or the body post mortem. Late 19th century medicine includes blood testing for radiation poisoning for living patients. According to Wikipedia, there are two major databases that track radiation accidents: The American ORISE REAC/TS and the European IRSN ACCIRAD. REAC/TS shows 417 accidents occurring between 1944 and 2000, causing about 3000 cases of acute radiation syndrome, of which 127 were fatal.[38] ACCIRAD lists 580 accidents with 180 ARS fatalities for an almost identical period.[39] The two deliberate bombings are not included in either database, nor are any possible radiation-induced cancers from low doses. The detailed accounting is difficult because of confounding factors. ARS may be accompanied by conventional injuries such as steam burns, or may occur in someone with a pre-existing condition undergoing radiotherapy. There may be multiple causes for death, and the contribution from radiation may be unclear. Some documents may incorrectly refer to radiation-induced cancers as radiation poisoning, or may count all overexposed individuals as survivors without mentioning if they had any symptoms of ARS. I now question WHY a group of hikers were allowed to hike in an area known to be contaminated by radiation when long-term monitoring of local foodstuffs and environmental samples was established in 1958, and five settlements (with 90Sr deposition 0.7-2.0 Ci km−2) located near the evacuation zone were selected for this purpose. In addition, sampling of bone autopsies from deceased residents of the contaminated areas was organized. See link for details on the consequences of radiation exposure: iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-6498/aa7f8d. Another example of a well-known disaster caused by US forces for example, is the atomic bomb that detonated over Hiroshima used Uranium-235, while the Nagasaki bomb had Plutonium-239. The half-life of U-235 is 700 million years, while that of Pu-239 is 24,000 years. In other words, once on the ground, they will be there for a very long time.
The actual levels of radiation on the few items of clothing belonged to two of the men who had previously worked in nuclear research, the radiation is often cited as important but the levels were actually only slight above what is considered normal.

Love your videos! I’ve been binge watching them all week. One other theory I’ve heard in this case is that the stove they had inside their tent started to leak carbon monoxide, and the hikers became delirious due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Can’t say for sure how plausible it is though!
FINALLY, someone finally reports something I have always wanted to know more about, and I trust Mike's background checks, super detailed, super knowledgeable. This guy should be a detective, he would be better than most officers I can think of.
This was what actually made me crazy about real crime/mystery. I've watched almost every video & read book about it. Ps. After being a suscriber for 3 monthes & watching numerous videos this is my first comment.
There are investigations of this event (in Russian, of course) quite detailed. People devoted their entire conscious life to this! I re-read them periodically. It lasts a few days! I get so much adrenaline and goosebumps when I read detailed descriptions of the state of dead people, their wounds and possible assumptions about what happened!
сергей владимирович I wish I could read them. Mostly what I've read are in English-not that good, not that bad. I do have a e-book in Russian but I can't read it....yet. Not going to lie there is something haunting when I watch videos or read about them. Of all that out there this is the most bizarre one. Nothing makes sense, yet it happened. Everytime i read them, I get goosebumps. Really sad & bizarre.
I have read about this year's shit decades ago and it is still far from being solved it is 1 of the more bat shit crazy mysteries around! Great take on it ! I still haven't seen 1 bad video from you... very consistent! Thanks for another great share! 🙃

Well done lad, so many others like to make the whole tongue missing into something more than it is, some even say that her tongue was ripped out. You've proved once again that you do your research. I would strongly recommend that you watch LEMMiNO video on the incident. I only recommend his video as he suggests another theory on what happened which sounds plausible. I'm not suggesting his theory is necessarily correct especially since there is no way to prove anything. Either way I think you will find it interesting.
I recently found this channel after watching a similar, and have been binge watching, when I came across older vids, I see how far you have come in being comfy in front of the camera! So glad to see you loosen up and are sharing your great personality with us! :) Thank you!
I recently read a book about this story titled "Dead Mountain" by Donnie Eichar. I found this book compelling as the author tries to piece together the series of events that led to their deaths. I don't want to give it completely away but the conclusion was intriguing. Back then, nobody could explain what "force" could have led them to abandon their shelter without being properly clothed for 30 below 0 weather. Over the last 10 years, scientists have identified and now study a weather phenomenon that the author has attributed to the mystery of these unlucky souls. I won't say what it is in case anyone reading this wants to read it for themselves. Anyhow, they were experienced outdoorsmen and women, and it seems they encountered something they had no knowledge of, and that scared the shite out of them. The weather phenomenon makes perfect sense and combined with being out in the wilderness on a moonless night, the dark and insane cold weather killed them quickly as there was no way the uninjured could make way back to the tent. Another awesome vid!
One of my favorite mysteries of all time. I'm inclined to believe the military exercise explanation. Great video, all facts presented well AND with nice theories alongside the facts to attempt an explanation. This is exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about. Very well done.
It clearly has the factors of - Physics level - orchestrations, as Panac Attacks don't result in the Victim having internal pressure damage. The Parachute Mines Theory us a contender. Military or other than Human are the only realistic potentials - most reasonable andc1st investigation - MILITARY.
I've always thought it was government weapon testing. Possibly a form of Soundwave amplifier that could've caused numerous effects on the body and mind. Sound can create extreme amounts of pressure and numerous countries have researched harnessing sound waves as a weapon.
Dude they've not only researched it but have developed weapons. Look up LRAD... Commonly used on protestors in recent events. Ultrasonic weapons or USW are capable of causing serious injuries and even death.
This is exactly what I’ve always thought. Weapons testing with sound and radioactive material. Poor group fell victim to tests that they didn’t know were happening and the government didn’t necessarily intend to inflict on these unsuspecting people.
it is so amazing how much better Mike has gotten in his delivery. The "old Mike" is now fun to listen to, only because the "new" Mike is so enjoyable to tune-in to.
You didn't mention the level of radioactivity or type, but to be considered significant, it most likely was not residual from a previous test blast. More than likely, the combination of testing and a tripwire concussion antipersonnel mine caused internal injuries. A mine on its own would not attract undue attention but combined with unreported nuclear testing, a coverup would have been appropriate. One member may have wandered (not far) to relieve himself and tripped the mine, thus motivating a hasty exit. People panic. Then hypothermia, lost sense of direction, etc.
PREVIOUS TEST MY ASS. WHAT IS THE MAYAK MELTDOWN? A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT THAT BLOWS UP IN CHELYABINSK IN 1956 SPREADING RADIATION AS FAR AS THE ISLE OF WIGHT AND POLAR CAPS. I KNOW THE INTERNAL INJURIES FROM A CONCUSSION WEAPON ARE HARD TO ARGUES AGAINST. IT'S ALMOST AS HARD AS THOSE ROCKS THREE OF THE LAST FOUR BODIES WERE FOUND STREWN ACROSS IN THE RAVINE. COULD IT BE THOSE ROCKS CAUSED THE INJURIES? JUST SAYING. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED THAT THEY WOULD FIND RADIATION IN A REGION OF THE COUNTRY THAT JUST HAPPENS TO HAVE A NUCLEAR PLANT THAT RECENTLY MELTED DOWN? YA DON'T SUPPOSE THAT ALL THE NUCLEAR BOMB TESTING HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PLANT MELTDOWN? I SPENT 4 YEARS IN THE MARINE CORP, WE WERE TRYING TO HID THE TRIP WIRE WHERE THE ENEMY COULDN'T SEE IT. THAT KINDA HELPS THE WHOLE CAMOUFLAGE THING. SEE, THE WHOLE PLACING A TRIPWIRE ON THE SIDE OF A BALD-FACED MOUNTAIN KINDA DEFEATS THE WHOLE HIDING THING. GO FIGURE. DON'T IT MAKE YOU THINK?

The Soviet parachute mines would not only explain the internal injuries but would also explain the glowing orange orbs the group of hikers to the south saw that night.
If you look at their autopsies one of my friends said it definitely looks like Zinaida Kolmogrova got into some sort of struggle, but also she was dressed pretty good with 1 shoe on, 7 layers of socks on, several layers of jackets on but she died of hypothermia???
ann eliasson ....nope. My dad was raised in the Soviet Union and camped. He said fights would break out over who got to sleep furthest from the stove. It got so bloody hot you were frozen all day and in hell all night. The stove plus body warmth was nearly steaming....so he says.
Kimberly25christine smith ......they didn’t but once you got in the tent, with the body heat of everyone, it got warm. You would have taken off your boots and jacket. You probably would have taken off your socks to dry them as well. Socks were not that easy to come by. Trousers, shirts etc would have been left on. These people left the tent clothed (except some were barefoot) but their clothes were stripped off either by themselves as the final stages of hypothermia set in or by their comrades who scrounged the clothing from their already deceased comrades. That’s why some were wearing other people’s clothing. The sleeping bags and blankets would have been relatively warm and even without the stove, had nothing happened that night, they would have been fairly comfortable.

This story has always puzzled me, the tent looked like a bear attack but their injuries were like they were all in a car accident...it's one of the weirdest things. I loved that you covered it, it's a truly strange story.
a starving bear or polar bear could do this easily
Katabatic wind
If it was a bear, the bear would have taken one of them and buried them in the snow to come back and eat them later. It's something bears do has a kind of storage thing. Especially knowing food is scarce for animals and anything really near that area, a bear would not pass up leaving fresh food. Watch the show Golden Kamuy it's an anime that actually shows this in the very first episode when a bear kills a man and burying it for later

I've watched every video I could about this. "Parachute mines" is the best theory I've ever heard, most logical and plausible that fits most of circumstances I've heard of.
Well done this is not just repeating what everyone else says about it.
Yep, it fit everything pretty well.

@SAMSQUATCH Moss the video mentioned earlier that they'd been testing weapons in the area
Supposedly there was a military base not but a mile or 2 away from the campsite
As a Russian, I've studied a lot on this topic - as much as it was possible. I also tend to think they were killed, and the killers did everything to make it all seem a weird accident. Investigation was murky, it was highly likely that cover up happened on that level too. These guys could see something they were not supposed to see.

The lack of clothes can be explained. Many people that have been found dead from hypothermia are naked. During the final stages a person will become delirious and feel like they’re overheating and will often disrobe.
I’ve always been fascinated by this case - there is just so much that doesn’t make sense . Even if you can explain away a lot we can’t explain all of it . ooorrrrrr snowstorm?
It fits all of the features of the mystery. Answers all the questions and it does not resort to Aliens or snow monsters like yeti/bigfoot.

@@JustSomeGoy What do you mean?
A parachute mine goes off close by, it is very loud, they get scared and run away. This is very possible.
However, in short, there is simply no reasonable explanation as to why NINE intelligent and experienced outdoorsmen/hikers would have left their tent in the dark in sub-zero temperatures without shoes and walked over a mile unless they were forced to do so.
did you read the article that explains what happened? they ran for cover from a dangerous weather event and didn't survive it

I studied up a lot on dyatlov's pass. It was revealed later that far beneath the snow, in the revine, they found support branches and a seating area made by the last 4. It is widely believed that they dug in and made a snow cave, which eventually caved in on top of them causing their injuries.

Wow, Mike! Your delivery from this video to your current videos is amazing! You have really come into your own...TC is one of my faves and always my go-to!
Crazy mysterious. I can only imagine how terrified they all must have been. How tragic.
Thank you!

The mine step on them unfortunately
It's parachute mines for sure.

Yes but don't forget these are norwegians, and experienced mountain hikers, university educated. They would be fully aware of not making that mistake. Either way, thumbs up, don't stop what you're doing :)

I wondered why they would be testing for radiation as a cause of death during an autopsy. This is the information I was able to find as a reason:
The Mayak Production Association is one of the biggest nuclear facilities in the Russian Federation, housing a reprocessing plant.

Going from your beginning and binge-watching my way thru! Great story, so glad I have these to watch! ❤❤
Sometimes I miss “classic” Mike. Early days. Longtime subscriber before this channel was very well known. Lovely to revisit a young “dirt-mustachioed” Mike before he had expensive equipment and High-def cameras. Luv ya Mike, me boy. You gave us chills and laughter every freaking time you uploaded. Happy days! ❤️
Love your videos! I’ve been binge watching them all week. One other theory I’ve heard in this case is that the stove they had inside their tent started to leak carbon monoxide, and the hikers became delirious due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Can’t say for sure how plausible it is though!
Mike over here serving TV static realness with that sweater
Yeah I couldn't find a nice static overlay I liked so I just went for it
FINALLY, someone finally reports something I have always wanted to know more about, and I trust Mike's background checks, super detailed, super knowledgeable. This guy should be a detective, he would be better than most officers I can think of.
IKR there aren't any videos really about this. They should make a movie about it, it would be better than Pirates of the Caribbean .
@@JohnDoe-ul5uf Definitely!
Making videos about (solved) cases and solving cases are two things you can't compare.
His energy has changed so much.

Thank you!
I'm glad TC covered this too, I just randomly searched this incident this year for any updates.
Im so happy I just came across a video of yours I didnt see.
I was researching this incident and wanted to know what happened. So glad I get to hear from you!!!
Thanks! Will check it out!
I was also going to recommend LEMMINO'S video-- 2 of me favourite TH-camrs right there, Nutter Mike (💙) and Lemmino... 💛💛💛

Perfect to watch this now during a freezing blizzard and right before bed.
Hi Mike! You are Now One of MyFavorite Channels to follow! Thank you so much for your compelling and descriptive narratives!
That last photo he ever took, looks like an eye. And found under a pine tree, or pine four? 😉
The Rendlesham Forest UFO incident the witness said "it looks like an eyeball winking at us" weird huh?
One of my favorite mysteries of all time. I'm inclined to believe the military exercise explanation. Great video, all facts presented well AND with nice theories alongside the facts to attempt an explanation. This is exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about. Very well done.
Thanks Alexander!
hell of a military exercise. oh those russians.
@@bethbartlett5692 know what would cause internal pressure damage that also would account for everything else that happened? An Avalanche.
I’ve been watching your channel for 2 years and this came up just today. I had no idea you’ve been doing this for SIX YEARS!
it is so amazing how much better Mike has gotten in his delivery. The "old Mike" is now fun to listen to, only because the "new" Mike is so enjoyable to tune-in to.
I agree!! He's much more animated now. Also, he's wearing another sweater!!
This is why I sleep in full snow gear when im camping in some of the harshest conditions on earth.
GO FIGURE.
DON'T IT MAKE YOU THINK?
her tongue tho..
@@DrunkDuckXD You know that bodies decay when they die, right? Even faster especially under wet conditions.
@@sosa9754 I'm pretty sure her eyes and tongue didn't decay in just 13 days... These were under freezing conditions, not wet conditions.

Possibly one of my favorite mysteries of all time. I read somewhere that Russia was re-opening the case. Don't know to what extent though.

Wow. Two years have made a huge difference in your style 😮😮

If I was sleeping in a tent during the Winter I would sleep with clothes ON!
ann eliasson ....nope. My dad was raised in the Soviet Union and camped. He said fights would break out over who got to sleep furthest from the stove. It got so bloody hot you were frozen all day and in hell all night. The stove plus body warmth was nearly steaming....so he says.
@@WyattRyeSway I dont think they ever set the stove up.
In later stages of hypothermia you start to take your clothes off, maybe that’s why
