Nice explanation.
BUT…you put your fingers inside the “bite” so many times. Lift the loose jaw and work under it so that if (when) you slip, the jaw doesn’t snap on you.

If you wax both of these traps the dogless trap is alot safer to set. Those traps with dogs I've had them go off while they were setting there. They are a good trap but dangerous waxed.

For coyote trapping, what is benefits of 2 coil vs 4 coil?

Faster, especially in hardened crusty dirt and freezing conditions. Increased holding power. Cons- Harder to set. Can damage feet. Recommend using only with laminated offset jaws.
