Miss Sarah Peterson this is twice I have seen you sing the same song, and when the end comes I want so much to join in and clap just to feel the magyck that I clap here out of time. Thank you, Mam, you are an Angel out of time. I know I am a 20th-century man living through the teen's and now about to revisit a brand new roaring '20s! Angel braces to you miss Peterson, and Angel braces to one of the finest bands I've ever heard, this century or last.
I was sad to see that this song was not on the album too. Apparently it's because it belongs to Clara Smith who recorded it in 1926 and lived a short life burning her candle at both ends.
New Orleans (1890-1910) and Dixieland (1910-1920) are two beat jazz. Swing (1927-1940) is a four beats jazz. They are different styles of jazz and were danced in different ways for different generations of people.
So what it's all jass, Lions, tigers, panthers, are all cats.. I played Chicago jazz, New Orleans jazz I know well the 2 and four beat difference as I am a drummer. Jazz is freedom if it feels right at the time play it or dance it the way you want I don't see the problem unless you are bored and trying to show your knowledge to people on blogs.. We know!
Of course, lions, tigers and panthers are all cats.... Hammers and saws are all tools but they do not work for the same. Ha, ha, ha!!!! You may be a drummer but as a historian, you do not know much about it. Study a little more. The lindy hop dance not exist in the two beat jazz era.
PatoJMA I really don't give a rats pa-toot I am 65 have met and played with and for a few of the greats. I got chops bro. Just enjoy the friggin music. Telling me what I know and don't know is childish. You can bug some one else with your vast knowledge. I am finished!
Sarah is a Great Wonder of New Orlean, so mighty and tender voice, I felt in love with Sarah!
The smoking time jazz club with Sarah Peterson. Great music.

Dancers dance lindyhop. Lindyhop (or jitterbug) is the dance of swing jazz, not of new orleans jazz!
It's all related brother!
