Félix Sánchez created history when he became the first athlete from the Dominican Republic to win an Olympic gold medal. He won the 400m Hurdles at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, four years later injury and personal tradegy prevented him from producing his best in Beijing. However, Sánchez defied the odds to triumph once again at London 2012. He speaks in dept about his incredible Olympic journey.

Me recuerdo cuando me criaba en Puerto Rico y vimos esa carrera. Todos bien emocionados con la posibilidad de que íbamos a tener nuestra primera medalla de oro gracias a Culson y cuando me di cuenta que eso no iba a ser vi que Félix por lo menos estaba en la delantera y de una extraña forma encontré paz de que si no iba a ganar Puerto Rico por lo menos ganó la República que son nuestros hermanos. Mucho amor a la tierra hermana 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴

How much respect and pride the Super Felix deserves. He was able to be part of the most famous athletics team in the world and decided to be on his little land team, where his roots are coming from, the Dominican Republic. That must be remembered and seen forever. Thanks Super Felix. You can easily see his tears almost out again during his whole documentary.

Felix Sanchez is a hero and an inspiration to us all.
I remember watching him in Athens in '04 when he won gold. I didn't follow athletics closely at the time and didn't know who he was. 8 years later in London after losing an interest in athletics having enjoyed it for a few years, I watched Sanchez again and remembered him from Greece. It was amazing to see the same guy win the 400 hurdles 8 years apart. That kind of thing doesn't normally happen in the mankiller event. It was an astonishing feat. Good for him.

One of my favourite athletes - I was eating some delicious Dominican Republic chocolate and it made me want to relive this - very inspiring, what track & field is all about. I also remember Felix winning a 400mH race AND a 400m flat on the same night at what would now be called a Diamond League meeting!!! Thank you for sharing your story Felix!

Félix Sánchez marco un antes y un después en el deporte de República Dominicana, luego de eso comenzó apoyarse un poco más el atletismo, ya que el deporte en el que más los jóvenes pensaba solo era baseball. his win marked a past and a present for the DR. I strongly believe our government would have never started taking sports funding more seriously (and they could still improve) if it wasnt for him. We already had talent in our country, but Felix really showed it to the world

Long ago 1979 i was a sophmore on top of the world, just ran a 38.9 in the 330 low hurdles in high school. I knew the junior year with cross country and running through the winter turning 17 i was determined to break 38 seconds in the 330 low hurdles. Somehow somewhere i took the wrong path in high school and never joined track and field again. I cheated myself in participating the most greates years of my time on Earth....................my youth and now i am training again at 54 years old putting a goal of myself to get back down to 38.9 seconds in the 330 lows again 2020 summer. Hmmmm, should be interested Felix with this video i always felt something about you, the videos you make has redeeemed myself to keep moving and ..............getter done. I believe i can do it again go with me GOD!! LOU Diaz
