I grew up in Pasadena,I loved it. I graduated from P. H. S and went to Trinity Lutheran Church. I lived there from the 1943 until 1974. I saw the Rose parade every year, our church group of young people spent the whole night on Colorado Blvd waiting for the parade. I think I was so very lucky to be a teenager in the 50s in Pasadena California 😊
You do know that the "Pasadena Civic Center District" section is video from the South Pasadena Farmer's Market and surrounding area, not the Pasadena Civic center?
I grew up in neighboring Sierra Madre in the 1950s. Pasadena was the big city to us. You got dressed up to go to Bullocks, Robinsons and other now-lost department stores. Several movie palaces to see first-run films. Sierra Madre is also charming and worth a visit, including the March blooming of the Wisteria Vine, the world's largest flowering plant, about 2 blocks from our house. Hike the 7 mile-long Mt. Wilson Trail from Sierra Madre. Tour the telescopes and look down at the smog layer below. Add in The Huntington Hotel and gardens andThe Pasadena Historical Society Museum, in one of the old Orange Grove Avenue mansions. I now live in the Mid-Hudson Valley, north of New York City, but I return, often, to my old home stomping grounds.
