- Here is how I got my 285/70/r17 tires on my toyota tacoma to stop rubbing. My 33s were rubbing pretty bad on my cab mount and this cab mount chop fixed it. This is not a step by step video but I tried explain it as best I could for anyone looking for advice.

The secret to running 33s rub free on a Tacoma or 4r is use wheels with factory offset. High offset wheels make your scrub radius huge (makes your tires swing back and forth when turning rather than gracefully pivoting over a small patch of ground). The swinging front to back caused by high offset wheels is absolutely the root cause of body mount rub. It may sound crazy but the entire aftermarket wheel industry really missed the mark on this one.
Check out tinkerers adventures video on this. After watching that I decided to run my 285s on factory trd wheels and I can confirms there is no rubbing in either direction at full lock.
I'm going for 285/75/r16 tomorrow on my TRD Off Road. I have a 3" lift and stock wheels, my lift is and Ironman 4x4. Hoping I don't have any rubbing on the UCA's or the body mount.
Hey MDV happy turkey day!
At least you were able to figure it out without too much hacking on it. So what is next?
Great video as always ❤

What’s your wheel offset? And how high of a lift before the CMC
+0 I have the dobinson mrr suspension and control arms. 3" lift
I have a 2022 Tacoma. I put on 275 75 R 17, And the inside of the tire rubs against the control arm when I make tight turns. Any suggestions would be helpful thank you.
Different wheels, +0 offset is great. Or a spacer
@@ModernDayViking The advice I received about a 1/2 inch spacer. Is that if I put it on because the lugs are too short? The wheel may fall off?
