This is definitely a good mindset, but don't fall into the trap of believing 100% of your time should be optimised towards this ideal of success - life to me is about enjoying yourself and achieving great things while doing so. It is admirable to devote your life to a grander long-term success, but make sure you do leave time to explore ways to relax and have fun! For some, that is indeed work, in which case thinking about time in terms of money may work for you! For others like myself it's being creative, in which case time may be valued through your creative output; whatever it is, whether it's those things or any other drive, make sure you leave space in your life for fun and detach yourself from equating the value of your time to your output - it's okay to kick back every once in a while, whether it's daily or if it's after days or even weeks of intensive work, that's up to the individual to decide!
Yes balance is key otherwise your gonna fall harder if you try too hard but you shouldn't also fall for brain tempting things like tiktok and others cause they're genuinely destructive I think just be grateful that your alive and doing what you truly love and enjoy is good enough and overseeing your progress and optimizing it is not a bad thing just don't overfocus on it or you'll mistake the forest for the trees :))
Yes, I'm in this trap right now. I am obsessed with productivity to the point it rips me apart :'( At the end of the day I still realize that what I did wasn't enough ... I don't want to become a millionaire, I just want to be happy
I've been watching your videos for a while now and I can confidently say you are my favourite self-improvement TH-cam where I actually saw answers to my questions and by the help of your "hoe to convince your parents" video and some others I really got the courage to finally prepare to open my own chanel after years of dreaming and thinking about it but now I'm working on gaining the evidences and respect for my parents to agree
I think to measure all by the amount of money you can produce is toxic. I’m 100% in using this value to make decisions and optimize time, but if you enjoy cooking, then why not doing it once in a while? Not all is making money is enjoy the time you have. As always, nothing is good in extreme, unless you are pushing for a reason.
I don't think you should measure by just money. Perhaps measure by a different value that you think is important. Equalize time to... ANYTHING quantitative that is special to you, I guess? I think money is probably the easiest example though. And imo, cooking is a high roi task :3
BRO POSTED YAY honestly thanks for the this because I do my work for school but then when I finish I go straight to watching a show… which ain’t good thx bro
hey, not sure if you'll see this and i don't know if its in your ruffclub but you should and im sure everyone would appreciate you starting a podcast. even if its just reusing yt videos this would be amazing to listen to on a walk or run. hi ruff i completely agree w this vid but i have a question -- as a student whose goals do not involve making money at the moment, how can i quantify my time? its not just "how many qs i could do in an hour" or "how many words i could write" since the ways i level up each day are somewhat circumstantial and depend on what schoolwork i have, what applications are open, etc.
soo, obviously scrolling is a low roi fo sho, but what would you replace it with, if you want the pros of de-stressing, enjoyment, dopamine, etc but with lesser and lesser cons? would love some advice as a student.
13:09 true when I started studying and reading useful stuff more, I did them almost everyday and I cut a lot less on video games. But I still spend a lot of time on Social Media but I can't help it ok?
Do you have a video on something like “how to stay off TH-cam”? It’s the only social media I struggle with, I have no other social media, I’ve deleted the app, I’ve set limits yet I keep coming back to it and it’s my biggest time waster. Perhaps I just need to replace it with something that is more productive, but I’m not sure what.
Hey man, kinda random but I really need your help. I feel like im lacking resilience with myself and am constantly giving up and unmotivated to try again -- feel like theres no reason to anymore... and I'd need a word from you about it 😢
unrelated i feel like i’m stuck. everyday, i go to school come home, do nothing, even forget to eat sometimes and i don’t do anything. school is making me feel like i’m stuck trapped in a box with a ton of loud faces staring down on me - that being the people. i don’t know what to do. i mean i do? slightly, but the majority of it i dont, and whether i do or not i don’t want to do anything. i should be studying, i shouldn’t give a fuck about the people at school, i shouldn’t need to worry about what they say or do but it’s hard. it’s supposed to be, but i want to give up because it’s hard and i just don’t want to deal with these assholes called my classmates. i’ve been with them for 3 years, in fact i probably see their faces more than i see my family. i feel crappier because the first year i was in this class (6th grade) i was doing really well. my grades were great, and my motivation was somewhat better. but i have improved since now i do a bit better at home compared to back then. because back then i used to have a horrible mess of a table and room and used to get the worst sleep and had shit eating habits due to some possible depression back then, so i am better now. i haven’t don’t the tasks or things i wanted to so i guess i’m just whining and should go do them, because now i have somewhat better health or mental health compared to back then and should now be able to do the stuff i want to do. i just need to do the stuff.
I understand that feeling cause school is kind of like a pretty hard place it's basically kind of like wasting time tbh I've also been at the same place as you but if you really wanna do what you love just invest slowly alright you don't have to overwhelm yourself when it's hard dedicate yourself just 15 minutes learning or doing what you want to do then up that slowly make a timer hope this helps but it won't always be perfect always look at the bright side don't get stuck in the dark side cause that's how they get you ignore everything that let's you down and appreciate everything that brings you up always roi ok
Also getting bored is good it's enough time of rest for your brain do meditation or like staring at your wall it might be delusional but I think it's more delusional to feed into your negative desires and ignore what you want to do but atleast you improved now so keep going still see what you can improve on again I truly hope this helps I haven't achieved anything but I'm still learning and going no matter what and I think that's good enough for me I just have to slowly keep leveling up
Hey Ruff, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
Eh, exercise is good for you, games are not. But one of those things I hate, the other I enjoy, the brain's wiring is messed up that way. Everyone knows this already, only some actually get motivated enough to choose to suffer every day for long term benefits.
you think it's better to study during the afternoon until night, go to sleep and let your knowledge "marinate" or waking up early and start studying as soon as possible??
