VIVIZ are unique in Kpop. They are one half of the legendary group GFriend who had their contracts terminated early in 2021 by their company despite being the 4th most successful Kpop girl group in history with 71 music show trophies awarded when you are number one that week. Fans were shocked as they were only given 4 days notice VIVIZ formed 9 months later with these 3 members. They said that they are still also GFriend even though they are effectively disbanded. They still meet each other regularly and go out for meals with all 6 together on occasions. SinB was the main dancer in GFriend, Eunha the lead vocal and Umji the maknae. But in VIVIZ they decided that Sowon would still be their leader, just as she was in GFriend, even though she isn’t even a member of their new group. For practical reasons though they decided to rotate the role of leader amongst themselves changing for every comeback. They didn’t want to call themselves that name having saved it for Sowon, so they say that they are class prefect instead. They also decided that they will have no set roles any more and they would all be 3 main vocalists and 3 main dancers. True democracy unheard of in Kpop. There truly is no group in Kpop like them.
All 6 members of GFriend were Korean and so therefore are the three women in VIVIZ too. Umji is the girl you liked but her voice matches her personality which is so kind, gentle and warm. SinB is the girl who looks like Moonbyul which is a great spot, as I thought that from the very start of knowing them too, even before anyone ever mentioned it. GFriend filmed 8 episodes of a reality show with Mamamoo which was hilarious and called Showtime. You really see the resemblance when SinB sits next to Moonbyul despite them being so chaotic.
@@fonvibestv as I mentioned in an earlier comment TH-cam doesn’t seem to like links but I will leave you one below anyway even if it gets deleted. If you search for Mamamoo x GFriend Showtime you will see a playlist with 10 videos in it. This contains videos with English subtitles for all 8 episodes of the show. I hope you can react to it as it really is hilarious and really fun to watch.
As you mentioned, the famous choreographer Kany Diabate worked with VIVIZ for Maniac as a special one off project. She is from Senegal too and that is a rarity in Kpop. She used to be Beyonce’s choreographer before this and worked with the boy group Shinee. She also created an amazing performance video for their B side Untie as part of the same project. You need to react to that too as it is breathtaking. She fell in love with these 3 women when she worked with them saying she had no idea that Kpop idols could be so talented and yet so humble and adorable at the same time. So she signed a permanent exclusive contract with their company so we can get more songs like Maniac in the future. She also made sure that the Untie video got English subtitles too which their small company struggle to do normally. You will see a lot more of her in the VEGINZ series for VIVIZ starting from episode 17 which features Maniac and we see her having fun teaching them the dance which she says is based on traditional Senegalese dancing.
@@fonvibestv I will leave the link below but TH-cam likes to delete any comments which contain a link so you may not see it. If it doesn’t appear you should still be able to find it by searching for VIVIZ Untie. It has 6 million views which is more than VIVIZ have had for some of their official comeback songs even.
Viviz actually don’t have official roles! They have an interchanging role of leader for each comeback Bop Bop- Eunha Loveade- Umji Pull Up- SinB Maniac- Eunha But if you were to base it off the roles in Gfriend Eunha- lead vocal SinB- main dancer and centre Umji- maknae There was no ‘official’ visual in gfriend either! And to help with the girls Eunha- pinkish hair/ bobbed black hair SinB- blonde hair Umji- brown hair
@@fonvibestvmost groups can’t switch roles, because they always have some members weaker in some aspects than others. Viviz can do it because all members are gifted in all aspects. In fact GFriend was usually considered to have “6 visuals, 6 vocals and 6 dancers”. Yes some members were stronger in certain aspects but they were all high level. 5 out of the 6 members were good enough singers to be invited to “King of Masked singer” in different years, and all apart from SinB made it to the 2nd round. And all of them have several covers and OSTs you can easily find on YT.
The Viviz girls do not have fixed positions, they are all vocal, they can all make high notes, even rapping, what is the leader is rotating in each return, one takes the role of the leader In this case, in the return of Maniac it was Eunha (the one with pink hair) who took the role of leader and will continue to rotate like this
When you said you would try and guess who the leader was I was thinking you would never be able to do it since their leader (honorary/in spirit) is Sowon, who is not even in Viviz but their original leader in Gfriend. In practice the girls have no fixed leadership position but have a sort of ‘class rep’ thing going on a rotational basis.
Maniac… by Conan Gray, i gasped. Your video quality is great. I hope you shorten the video since it’s too long. If this is your first reaction, probably look at their profile, watch the video, then search the meaning since it’s like you want to anticipate the story when it’s not certain. I would say Viviz would be the most confusing to distinguish who’s the main vocalist or dancer, or even leader. They try to switch things up unlike their previous group. They are considered seasoned idols with years of experience so it does make sense why. If ever you dive into GFRIEND, i’m certain whether you’ll still like Maniac over their other discography since this is probably their best sound of entering the states. The sound is perfect, and more popular if they did an English version.
Not only Maniac but Kany is also the choreographer for their song 'Untie' which has a performance video that u can watch on Viviz's channel
