Hi There, I had a Lyretail single fish in 8 foot reef and the anthias was 6inch tip to tip and fat! Would harrase the life out of my bicolor goatfish. i had ich breakout and everyone made it. I never saw any spot on the anthias but he stopped eating and never resumed .. last night he died.. now I do not have any anthias ... bicolor is happy! I wonder what other fishes are colorful, 6 inch ishe .. and hardy?

Hi Daniel how long can they alive if kept as singles? I know they tend to kill each other off and the stress of their social structure shortens their lifespans.

It’s a big tank, probably enough natural food in there that you don’t have to feed three times.

Based on my research it says that these anthias need large tanks (e.g. 125 gallon). In your opinion, can I put 3 females in a 4ft 73 gallon tank? Also, which anthias is the second hardiest? Thank you in advance.

If you have the larger tank the next hardiest I would say is the pink square. But the lyretail is much hardier then the pink square. You. Can minimize your risk if you get small female pink square, later on one will be a male. The larger males are not easy, Hard to acclimate to aquarium conditions at the beginning

I have a couple of customers with that size tank they have one female, with chromes. there are smaller anthias but way more difficult, this ones are easy and somewhat hardy. just make sure before you buy that they are eating well

Why does it say these fish need 120 gallon tank if they arent very big? I am looking at a lyretail male and have 50 gallons. Do I need a pair or is one ok in a 50 gallon?

they need to swim! Lots of folks recommend a 6ft tank at the least. I think you can get away with a 5ft if you're stocking Randalls or LyreTail
