Great review! I have found the camera to be fine when mounted to a non moving point but sub par for recording video when mounted to something moving such as a bicycle, even with the stabilization mode turned on. Still a good value for what comes with it.
Exactly, you see I use my Apemans for Paintball.. so they take often direct hits.. losing a 60$ Apeman compared to a 400$ Hero is a bit easier to take, and for outdoor shots in the fast paced gameplay quality is still great
Hello, I noticed that after you plugged in the Mic. and you turned away from the camera, your volume dropped, Why is that? Just received mine today, I will check that.
Great review ! I don't think touch-screens are all that. These cameras tend to live their lives in their Perspex enclosure - mainly to protect it and also to allow it to be mounted. Trouble is, touch screens don't work when they are in the enclosure ! So what's the point of them?.
I believe a lot of these action cameras are developed, and manufactured in one factory then 're-branded' and sold by different companies. This is probably the case with the Victure AC700 and the Apeman A79. Other than a few cosmetic differences these two cameras appear to share the same features... same Sony image sensor, same video resolutions and frame rates, same plug-in microphone, same poorly designed battery door cover. The only difference I can see is that the Victure will capture stills up to 20MP, whereas the Apeman tops out at 16MP.
Even though that camera uses an external microphone, I think it records both tracks (camera mic and external mic) at the same time and mixes them. Unfortunately this means any wind noise is also recorded and blended. Just a thought... but perhaps putting a piece of tape over the camera mic might improve the sound. Only a suggestion as I have not tried that myself.
There is a built in image stabilizer, known as EIS. It only does a moderate job at stabilizing video. For really smooth shots you'd have to mount this camera on a powered gimbal style stabilizer.
Hi thanks for this great review!! I have 1 question; why does the link in the info bar take us to another device than the Apeman A79? Thanks for your reply :)
Sometimes these companies get bought out by other brands and re-sell the products under a different name, but the basic camera remains the same and often still has the original product name and number. I believe that is the case here.
Most of the action cameras I have used only support mono plug in mic’s. However I use a Sony HDR-AS200V action camera that has stereo recording. This camera is now discontinued.
This camera does not come with a selfie stick, but if you use the included tripod adapter you should be able to attach it to any tripod, monopod or selfie stick.
I prefer the 2.7K resolution for best results. The 1080 is very good too, but I find the 4K video is a bit 'choppy' when playing back so I tend to avoid that one.
The battery is only rated at 1050 mAh and performance is not that great. In my tests I was able to record a continuous video at 1080-30 on a fully charged battery. The longest recording time I got was 46 minutes. On the plus side, this camera does come with 2 batteries.
Yes, I believe it is. I notices some minor 'stuttering' on some of my recorded 4K scenes. Certainly, at the price point, an interpolated 4K image would not be uncommon.
I just wonder how much have you been paid for this review? The camera is a piece of work not worth it's price. I don't believe that you didn't realize this.
First off, I have never, ever been paid to do a review. Second, I agree this is NOT a great camera, it lacks a proper battery door cover, there is no tripod socket, no touch screen, the 4K is surely interpolated video, BUT considering the price of only $59, it shoots decent 1080 and 2.7K video, comes with an external mic., has a waterproof housing and has a working wi-fi app. No, this is no GoPro, but for someone on a budget this camera may be just the right item.

Yes, definitely not a 'high-end' camera but a very good value in an easy to use, affordable camera.
Thank you for this great review
Interesting review. Good to have cheaper options in high risk situations where there’s a chance of a camera getting lost or damaged.
Yes indeed. A very good point Paul.

How long does the battery last when shooting in 4k?
In my tests, with a fully charged battery...the longest recording time while shooting 4K video was 83 minutes.

My experience is that most cheap cameras have semi-decent video and image, but the microphone will give you ear cancer when you listen to playback
this camera looks like exactly the victure ac700 that you have already tested too, isnt?

@@TheOneCanoe The A79 (firmware 5.1) is also up to 20MP on photo capture....
Hello sir. I am having Apeman A79. But getting too much sound in helmet during motovlogging. Is there any setting to reduce large sound

Hi. How good is the stabilizer in it? picture quality and sound seems to be pretty good? thanks for the reply.

I noticed the mic, although great, was mono. Have you ever come across any action camera that supports stereo mic sources?
Most of the action cameras I have used only support mono plug in mic’s. However I use a Sony HDR-AS200V action camera that has stereo recording. This camera is now discontinued.
hi, Thanks for the review. Wich accessoire do I need for a selfie stick? Its not in the box.
This camera does not come with a selfie stick, but if you use the included tripod adapter you should be able to attach it to any tripod, monopod or selfie stick.
Nice review dear sir...❤️ from India
your dog has awesome eyebrows
Great review
Thanks!
nice vlog. thnks!!!
Thank you.
Got this item. Which resolution would you recommend to use?
I prefer the 2.7K resolution for best results. The 1080 is very good too, but I find the 4K video is a bit 'choppy' when playing back so I tend to avoid that one.
@@TheOneCanoe4k is useless because u cannot use 4k and EIS (Optical Stability) at the same time. So I can only use 2.7k Video with EIS on

Nice Video Sir! Which one is better A79 or A87?
Apeman A87 is better IMO. It has touchscreen but no plug-in mic.
Who is best .. this camera .. and ct9500 ?
Personally, I prefer the CT9500, but don’t think they make that one anymore. I believe there is an updated version …. The CT9700.
Nice review..You did not provide a link where it can be bought however
Thanks.
Sorry about that...I have now added a link directly to the Apeman web site where these cameras can be purchased.
If A79 uses the Sony IMX179 sensor with an effective resolution of 3264 x 2448, then the 4K image might be interpolated.
Yes, I believe it is. I notices some minor 'stuttering' on some of my recorded 4K scenes. Certainly, at the price point, an interpolated 4K image would not be uncommon.
Good
Other than the name, this is a SJ cam
Wouldn’t surprise me. Rebranding is common with these Action Cameras.
I just wonder how much have you been paid for this review?
