This is the Best reason I could think of besides the obvious (hair.......lol) Of course you know I could not imagine not having one! If you don't like people they aren't for you...........lol Thankfully both Tonka and myself Love this part!

Had a malamute for 14 years, she spent her days either on the front porch or the back porch. Whenever we would have her on the back porch the mailman would deliver our mail at the front door and then go around back to visit. It's amazing how many times I came home for lunch and found the mailman just sitting on my porch playing with the dog.

I have a malamute husky mix and people love her, we always get a lot of attention when we're out. She is indifferent towards some people, and others she just has to say hi to and will pull me towards them. She loves children especially, and as strong and energetic as she is, she is always so gentle with them.

Tonka is so sweet! I'm so shy, and it's only thanks to my Samoyed mix that I started to come out of my shell. Walking her daily, and seeing how she loves being around people and vice versa has helped me so much. Dogs are the best!

My female golden loved going to PetSmart and meeting people. She knew she was gorgeous and she'd rush towards strangers and lean on them. She'd do the golden lean, as if to say, "Aren't I beautiful-??" My male golden was a rescue who came with some baggage. The cool thing was he learned to be more golden-like by imitating her. He didn't react at first when he saw strangers, but then she'd rush over to the stranger, and he'd do the same. He eventually learned to be fully open to new people, dogs, and experiences.

I used to work at a pet store and there was one that came in often I got to see him the day he came home from the breeders and watch him grow to a year old before I left the job, he was my favorite to see, I didn’t even care if he was dirty from runs in mud I would be down on the floor with him just giving him love :)

I can absolutely relate, I have a husky and I get stopped every 5 seconds for someone to pet him and call him beautiful! But I love it because Oakley is such a good dog, he deserves the attention.

So true! Whenever we go for a walk we get 3 different kind of reactions: "Awww so cute!", "OMG a wolf!" or "So adorable, can I pet her?!" :D But honestly who wouldn't want to pet them? If I ever met you guys I would definitely want to pet Tonka and give him a big hug! 😘

I have a malamute named deavva he's a male he's a 3 and he's 210 pounds
It is not said without reason that dog is really reflecting it's owners personality. You surely are good and person open to people.
I love people too but i have guard and it's not so easy to get in to my inner circle, so to say. Hence, my Husky does not like everyone and he actually gets mad at some people, on sight lol
Sometimes i get impression that he would bite if not watched but i would love if he was a little bit more like your Tonka. Fantastic job you've done in care for your dog and you have a lovely dog indeed.

Since my friend's Alaskan Malamute, Luna, died in Jan. 2020, I ❤ to see Tonka and Monroe's pictures. Tonka and Monroe make me happy and help me remember Luna, as I miss her so much! She looked just like Tonka, and she would have loved him I know!

This is SO TRUE!! If you are NOT a people person then DON'T get a breed like these! Everybody seems to LOVE Huskies! Since I got Luna I have made SO MANY NEW FRIENDS! A walk through town or the village takes TWICE the time because everybody wants to pet her and fuss over her. Like Tonka, Luna is 100% ok with this. In fact if someone walks past us WITHOUT wanting to pet her she seems to get a bit upset lol! She absolutely ADORES all the fuss and attention she gets from people. A trip to the pet store takes us at LEAST AN HOUR! All the staff have known Luna since she was a pup and so it takes FOREVER for us to go in there get what we want and go home. We wouldn't have it any other way though :) The funniest thing though is people seem to recognise Luna before they recognise me! I get people saying "Oh!.. You're the one with the Husky!!" lol Hilarious, but I certainly don't mind xx

Same happens with my little (50Kg 16 yo) baby. At the park a little girl jumped out from behind a tree and grabbed him around the neck. The look of shear terror on the parents was classic as "BabyDog" lapped up every bit of cuddle. Yep, vicious, uncontrollable people in coats walking on 4 legs
