He is so smart he is cared for by a pretty woman and does not have to do anything except look cute sleep and play. Too bad Dogs have a short life compared to humans.

Hi Nikki. You probably know this but when you are in Reno and hike Evan’s Canyon area, the coyotes are pretty bad. Aggressive and don’t display typical coyote behavior (run when they see humans). They have followed me and my dogs on trail runs, and have gone after me and my dogs. I carry bear spray with me now and try to avoid the trails at sun up and down. I realize that where you woke up wasn’t Reno but since you are spending more time in the area, just wanted to give you some information.
its because they have been pushed out of their natural habitat and natural food supplies, they are hungry, they starve to death often, animals will do desperate things in desperate situations
Nicky, I think you should get a jump box to carry with you. You go to some VERY remote locations, if your battery should die and you don’t gave service to call someone, what would you do? You can get a very compact box, and they don’t cost a lot- the one I have for my little Honda was only around $25-and I’m sure they make the kind that charge via solar. It surprised me that you don’t already have one, especially with all the places you went in the little car! Camper is SO SMART! It was nice to see him so excited to pull up at your friend’s. With all the places he travels it’s really amazing that he remembers so many people and places. I hope the puppies had, or are having so much fun! I wish I had my van already! Aside from the dogs, the beautiful desert scenery is the biggest reason why I watch Nikki's vids. I love all those places. My home airport is BWI. When I fly, I park in a lot called The Fast Park. They're very inexpensive - under $12 per day - and close to the terminal. They require a shuttle bus ride to get to the terminal, but the busses run fast, and they pick you up and drop you off right at your car, generally within five minutes of your arrival - no trudging to a bus stop to wait a half hour for a crowded bus that makes thirty stops. They also offer free jump start service. They're only at 15 airports in the US, but expanding.
Very familiar with that airport, attending the Reno Air Races every year since 2000. Sadly the races in Reno ended in 2023. I will miss my yearly visit to Reno.

You can get a small portable car jumper that works so well. I think everyone should carry one. It's a powerbank thats rated for high Amps with the appropriate clips, simply connect it up and then swing it, once started you can disconnect and recharge for next time. It's a real lifesaver!

Nikki here is a little FYI: A fully charged battery should not freeze until about -94°F (-70°C). A battery that is at about 50% DOD will freeze around -13°F (-25°C), and at a 75% DOD it will freeze at about 9°F (-13°C). The system should be designed so that it never discharges the battery bank below its expected coldest operating temperature.
Didn't sound like she's concerned with the battery freezing. Most decent Lithium batteries, by design, stop accepting a charge when temps get near freezing to prevent damage. With all the electronics on that van there's certainly a "ghost draw" and if it's too cold for the solar to charge em, she could easily come back to a dead rig.
I'd highly recommend a battery booster, which is like a portable car battery that can jump start a car with a dead battery. About $100, it charges by USB. I make sure mine's charged up every few months, which only takes a few hours while driving. Ti jump start your car you just plug the jumper cables into it, attach it to the battery and start the car. So much easier and faster than calling AAA. Plus, you would have a backup power supply for all your USB devices when away from the vehicle.

I have trouble with losing things, but then again I'm 63, I bought myself a little label maker & have a spot for my Wallet, a place to hang my Keys, everything, especially the most important items have a place & then I make a nice sized easy to read label to go on it so I can easily see it & I make sure when I come in from outside any of those items goes right into it's proper place, I just got tired of all the lost time spent on searching for things.
I know I'm late to watching this video and all but I wanted to tell you about car jumpers! You've probably heard about em and if you don't have one yet I highly recommend one! It's a battery pack that will...you guessed it give you a battery jump start. There are many sizes depending on how big your engine is and if you have multiple batteries you just need to put it on your main starter one. The one I have is rated for a bigger liter engine than I have but I use it as peace of mind that it will be able to start my car. Just make sure you pay attention to the details on liters for gas vs diesel engines. Hopefully this helps and gives you peace of mind for when you long term park.
Camper is certainly one smart dog and Rodney, he certainly is full love for you. I did not realize how many factors are there in keeping things in order when living in camper, you got it under control Nikki.

Its amazing you can make that drive look like its not the most boring drive EVER. I hated having to drive to Hawthorne everyday from Reno when I lived in Nevada.
It takes a lot of electrical or natural gas energy to keep someone living in a van, warm during cold winter nights or cool in hot temperatures…..simply amazing on how you manage things….
You can most likely jump your car from your house battery! I do it in my van whenever my main battery dies. Since the negative terminals are connected, all I have to do is connect the positives through my van with one jumper cable. Super easy!

Nikki, I have an envelop thing hanging in my MUD room where I hang my keys and one of the envelope pouches holds my Wallet, this is where it always goes.... Something big enough to hold the wallet, and a keys clip on the wall.
I rarely air travel because of my three fur kids. Only time I boarded all three of them for nearly 10 days, it was over $1400. I plan my vacations around where I can take them and they love car rides! 😁

I live in Colorado and have never added chemicals to my diesel fuel. Never once had an issue with gelling of the fuel. Been here 10 years next month.
It is better to be prepared than not to be tho!
