Brad, I love your videos aaaand have learned so much about orchids in general but you have really helped me with my specific orchids. I am definitely an over-waterer but have learned how to manage around that bad habit.
I just picked up a Lyc.Auburn 'Knowle Delight X Lyc. skinneri 'Ueda-16' from Cal-Orchid and had no idea what to do with it at all. Thanks to you I fell much better informed so thank you very much, you've saved another one!

What time of year do these go dormant for you? I have an Angulocaste cup of gold and instead of going dormant at this time of year it has finished maturing a pseudobulb and has now produced a new growth. A bit perplexed if I'm honest.
Is a lycaste locusta deciduous? I think it's a cool grower but I ordered one and killed it. I may have overwatered bit I'd love to try again . Also, what type of media do you use? ❤️
I have a lycaste with no roots, only leaves. Can you tell me how to make it to grow new roots and what media i should use and should i water or not ???

how big are your smallest ones? Do you think I could get away with blooming one at 68 f, /20C degree nights, or do you think that's too warm to bloom something like an aromatica?
Nicely done. Isn't that aromatica? It's one of the of the easiest orchids to grow with a great scent. I grow mine in bright shade.

Great video, Brad! I only have 1 Lycaste - a deciduous one. So far it seems to be doing ok but it hasn't flowered yet. I think I was giving it a bit too much light. It didn't actually burn but the leaves are not nearly as nice looking as yours. How much light are you giving them?
Wade's Orchids I give them about 2000FC max for a part of the day this time of year, the leaves are so thin they can burn pretty easy. As the srtong summer sun weakens i'll bring them out more and by the time they are dormant they are back on the top shelf 5000+Fc

You don't see these in the everyday floral department. Where would you buy one of these? I'm not saying I'm ready for the next level of orchids, just curious. I'm doing good to keep my supermarket orchids alive. 😔
huh, i keep my semis outdoors year round, lows down to the 40's.
Those things really are sharp. ..the lady I bought mine from told me that but I had to go and touch in anyways. ...lol
