Kids weren't allowed to shop at the Montgomery Wards store near us because they had creepy salesmen, and we were told stories that some kids went in there shopping and were never seen again. Of course we were told these stories by the creepy salesmen who worked at the Radio Shack.
I had all this stuff. Maskatron, Bionic Transport Repair Station, Mission Control Center, Special Assignment Arms, Bigfoot. Forgot, the backpack with the crystal radio in it.
Amazing stuff right here! I was born in January of '77 so I was a bit late to the six million dollar party, however I did inherent my brother's Steve Austin, Oscar Goldman, Maskatron Saxon and Bigfoot. I also copped his Eveil Knievel rigs as well. My old dad kept good old Bigfoot propped up on a desk in his workshop and then everything got packed away after dad died, but he's still out there somewhere, no idea where all the other figures could be. Oh well, I'm sure I can find others on eBay pretty cheap. 😄 Yeah rite!
My town use to have a big Montgomery Ward at the mall. I remember when they added the "Electric Avenue" electronics department. I got my Lady Jaye figure from there.
I had these also. Hey, Junkman, I just remembered something I still have that might work for a video, if you can find info. I have vintage licensed Star Wars mirrors made by a company called Lightline Industries, Inc. Apparently there were 4 of them: X Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Vader, Han and Chewie, and R2 and 3PO. I paid a buck each in an auction in 1980, and they are worth over a hundred each on eBay.
Just watching an episode on Legend on Freeview in England and just found out Maskatron is John Saxon! Unbelievable all these years and I thought Maskatron was just a generic face along with the Oscar and Steve faces! WOW!!! I love John Saxon in films!!!
Igot Steve Austin when I had my tonsils removed. I had Steve Austin, the rocket/repair station, and the crystal radio backpack...but don't really remember this guy. Still have old Steve somewhere, a little worse for the wear.
I have a Dr Kromedome figure. He's in pretty good condition, except the poor guy's right foot broke off. I guess that's why he has a cane. It seems the plastic used for the Fighting Yanks line was not the best quality of plastic.
@@ThatJunkman Oh yeah, I remember having the album on vinyl, I think "Storms of Life" was also the name of the record. Gosh it's been thirty years since I've listened to that one.
people called it "Monty" Wards but I thought they were saying "Monkey" Wards, so that's what I called it I bought a lot of stuff there because I could get there on foot, unlike Sears which required me to take the bus however, I did NOT buy Dr. Kromedome - I did have the multiple face guy but no Bigfoot / =
Never had this cheap and nasty thing in the UK, and for once it looks like we dodged a bullet! Even as a kid, I would have been able to see it as a shameless cash in. Crap. Got boxed complete Maskatron, though and that's a great toy! Not good in terms of articulation (none of the figures were), but a load of play value!

My dad always called it Monkey Wards.
How to talk like That Junkman: "Mungumary Ward"

Did you forget Oscar Goldman and his exploding briefcase? I had 2 of them.
@@R8DRBeagle Didn't have Oscar. Popped Oscar's face on Maskatron instead. :-)
@@moejjoraisin6005 Same here.
You lucky bastard, I only had the Steve Austin figure, the Maskotron and the special assignment arms

🎶 "Montgomery Wards, 🎶
🎶 "The brand name savings store." 🎶
I had a Dr. Kromedome and just now finding out that Dr. Kromedome was not an official Kenner Six Million Dollar Man action figure.
My town use to have a big Montgomery Ward at the mall. I remember when they added the "Electric Avenue" electronics department. I got my Lady Jaye figure from there.
had Maskatron until the early 80s. very cool features and accessories
Still have all mine. And still has all the parts lol
I had the Steve Austin but never heard of Kromdome
I had absolutely no idea Doctor Chrome Dome existed.
I had these also.

I had all of these as a kid even Cromedome himself I was a big time fan and got them all even the Mars probe
Oh man! You had the mad Mars probe!?? Wow! Lucky dog!
@@archstanton4365 I got it at K-Mart on a blue light special
@@silversscratchbuiltproduct6277 Oh that's sweet! 👍
I had a PULSAR and later found his Purple Alien Enemy that I never knew existed.. It was the battle of the Century!
Lived though that time and had zero awareness of Krome Dome. Never saw a Montgomery Ward. Sears was the go to.
Wow I 4got all about that Maskatron guy but yeah JUNKMAN he would be a great Holy grail.Good 👍 show.
Great story! Never knew this figure existed.
The Bionic Bigfoot was not released in 1976 ( it came out in 1977 )..
Yea i didnt have a dr k when i was a kid . But i now have 1 with dome in a repro vox.
No kromedome. But I got a real nice maskatron. Or John Saxon. He fought Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon.
Cromedome looks more like he's from a Superman comic. He looks like a cross between Lex Luthor & Brainiac! LOL
mego's intergalactic pimp haha 😄 forgot about that chrome dome
@That Junkman Maybe ''Dr. Kromedome'' was not a (MD-Doctor of Medicine), but a (PhD- Doctor of Philosophy).
i had nearly EVERYTHING tied to 6M$man . i DIDNT have this tho.... OR Bulletman either...

Is that a Dalek sink plunger that attaches to Dr Krome Dome's arm?
I asked for the 6M$man... They gave me a Barbie
Sad :(
It makes me wonder if during the David Eick remake had they brought the Fembots but I doubt it would have saved the show
Btw, nice Randy Travis reference, 1982.
Didn’t think anyone would get it. But the line is from his song Storms of Life not 1982 :)
@@ThatJunkman Oh yeah, I remember having the album on vinyl, I think "Storms of Life" was also the name of the record. Gosh it's been thirty years since I've listened to that one.
No Monkey Ward near me at the time but it has a so lame it's cool charm
Dalek plunger accessory? 7:19

Superb quirky video.
Never owned anything of this line. But I still played the shit out of those cause a lot of other kids had them!
It be funny if Steve Austin came with a six pack of beer
LoL, the 6 million dollar man adjusted or inflation is $34,124,107.49
Super cool
I have a set of bionic man toys
I don't remember that villan at all!
Damn, that's funny 😂
