girl SAME. I loved Evangeline, and I would 100% be similar to her if I found myself in her position, like all of her choices made so much sense to me through the whole thing... and she remained very true to her character through the whole series. I just liked that she was different from other main characters that are in pretty much every other fantasy book.
@@fifs7400 DH2 felt like a character study of Julian. You see his reasonings and just more inner thoughts to him that we didn’t get to see in prior books (especially after the events in the long way home). I think he may grow on you if you weren’t convinced in Daisy Haites/Magnolia Parks.
@@rochelle1199 Felt that! I just recently read it last month because we don’t have the next book out yet but I couldn’t hold off 😭 The great undoing is definitely my fav in the series!
love this set up and everything you talked about, just finished divine rivals a few hours ago and im in LOVE! the quotes you read from it were some of my favorites as well, such a swoon worthy book!
Omg the energy you brought in this video with just the pure fangirling that bursted through as you would grab a book that you loved - THAT is why I watch booktube. I’ve been having a dreary morning, and I’m doing paperwork at my job all alone at the moment as I watch this video, and it’s just unexpectedly brightened my morning so much. Editing to add my reading goals for 2024: I’d mainly like to get through more of my physical TBR. I have roughly 100+ and I’d like to see it go down lol
My reading goal for 2024 is to read more fantasy because I read my first fantasy series which was the once upon a broken heart trilogy and now I want to branch out and read more 😁💕
I loved "re-reading" all the Emily Henry and TJR books as audio books this time around. Julia Whelan is such a great narrator. Thanks for inspiring me to try ACOTAR this year!!
Have you read fourth wing?? I feel like you would love it if you haven’t! I just finished fourth wing and iron flame and it was jaw dropping, show stopping, incredible. I can’t stop thinking about them!
ahhhh so weird! for me Divine Rivals felt like a war book with a romance subplot, and a bit Insta-Lovey. So curious how you perceived the opposite of me! But they were definitely a cute couple, I just wanted more development from them !
if you liked divine rivals, i really recommend rebecca ross' other book Dreams Lie Beneath!! its a fantasy standalone with such cosy writing similar to Stephanie garber and the romance is also rivals-to-lovers
Rachel I love watching your videos! You have now convinced me to read Divine Rivals in 2024! My other reading goals for 2024, is to tread the ACOTAR series and TOG series, also Powerless and Binding and Keeping 13 Those ones are at the top of my list!! thank you for being so inspirational :)
My reading goal this year was 20 books and I also want to lower it a bit next year so I have more room for bigger books and such. I also want to use my library more and maybe find a favorite book to buy a special edition of.
I read Heartbreak House-share because of you. I’ve never heard anyone talk about it, but you spoke so highly about it that I had to. I love it so much, rated it five stars. Everyone in their 20’s should read it
This was my first year making a goal so I chose 50. I'm currently almost finished with book number 71 though so I'm thinking I may can read 75 by the end of the year. I think this upcoming year I am going to set my goal at 70 and see how I do. I am taking an English class in college next spring called Known Authors so I'm sure that will add a few books toward my goal next year. Its kind of nice because its hard to fit reading in while being in school, but if its for an assignment then it justifies spending my time reading. There are so many books on my TBR I could probably have enough to read one book a week for 2 years. I will stop everything for Iron Flame and the new Maple Hills book featuring Henry. I cannot remember the name of that one, but I loved Icebreaker and Wild Fire.
I’m reading Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow currently and I agree. I don’t know why I want to keep picking it up but I just do, it’s really good so far
5:05 My favorite book couples are Gus and January Beach Read, Nora and Charlie Book Lovers, Xaden and Violet Fourth Wing, Luka and Stella Lovelight Farms, Hannah and Jack The Bodyguard and Ethan and Avital Kissing Kosher 10:07 Cinder by Marissa Meyer Did not know what to expect going into this book but I absolutely loved it. 11:11 Katherine Center , Marissa Meyer & Emily Henry 12:04 I agree about Renegades completely. Just finished it last night. It was amazing. 14:28 I’d have to say Fourth Wing 15:01 Currently The Woman In Me Britney Spears 15:59 I’d say Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow 16:40 Friends Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing Matthew Perry 17:17 I can’t think of one. 18:31 I’ve done really bad with keeping up with my good reads and just updated my profile recently. I don’t think I have any low ranked books. Hey, btw you should follow me. 20:14 Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Kiss Of The Selkie 21:09 I am rereading the Harry Potter & Twilight Series and Love Theoretically 22:08 Last year I did not have a reading goal. This year I want to read 100 books. 23:30 I want to read more classics, fantasy and thriller
I discovered your channel this year and love your bookish content! ☺️ My 2024 goal is definitely to finish series I’m in the middle of, it’s a little overwhelming at this point 😅 great at starting series but not at finishing them
This year my goal ended up being 25 and I think I’m going to go with the same. I’ve read around 30 books this year so far but next year will be busier so I think 25 is manageable
Reading goals for next year is to read 60 books versus 100 for the same reason as you I would like to read longer books and not feel pressured to meet a goal versus enjoying the books I am reading.
I read 15 books this year. I will probably do 10 books in 2024 since the A Court Of Thorns And Roses series will take me a few months to get through. I am only on book one which is 419 pages.
My biggest reading goal for 2024 is to finally read The Book Thief! I’ve been putting it off for way too long because I have high expectations and I’m afraid they won’t be met.
Daughter of no worlds was SO GOOD and then I ended up skimming the second one and dropping the third one (although I did skip to the ending for closure once I decided to dnf) 💔 it just became so messy and exhausting l
Please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please read Project Hail Mary!! I don't really read sci-fi but it was so fantastic!! :) I've recommended it to so many people and they are all obsessed with it too!
Maybe i am broken because i didn't like Divine Rivals. I literally felt nothing for the characters or the romance😩. Maybe i need to re-read it. I read it after finishing ACOTAR series and Manacled so i was quite possibly in a slump
I really want to read Divine Rivals, but the font is very small (not sure if the intent was to make a thinner book). I'm going to have to pay again for a digital copy.
I just read They Call Her Sofia by Doris Ladino and I loved it! It’s a book about healing and finding self love after being betrayed and manipulated. It’s sweet and spicy. The audiobook is very entertaining and easy to listen to. Overall , It’s a feel good book and fast read. Enjoy!
Rachel I’m staring at your bookshelves and the way you separated the inheritance games from the rest of jennifer lynn barnes’ work hurts my soulll please put them next to each other
As a reader and an author, I can't dedicate all my time to reading (tho I wish I could read more) but I think I'm close to having read 30 books this year and I have plenty to read next year and I want to read a book a week next year, so around 50 maybe :D (Literally thinking of binging my unread Big Nate books and other graphic novels at the end of the year) (I know the count doesn't matter too much, but I just wanna lol)
Hey Rachel, I recommend reading “The Hundred Years' War on Palestine: A History of Settler-Colonial Conquest and Resistance, 1917-2017” by Rashid Khalidi. It’s truly a necessary read for everyone. Also it’s about Jesus’ homeland 💕

Daisy Haites The Great Undoing is literally ART ✨ that book undid me. Julian Haites is top tier
I’ve not read that one yet! On my TBR for January 🙌🏽 I’m still mentally recovering from The Long Way Home and I read that in like May 😫
does he grow on u? cs i finished daisy haites and lowkey hate him.........

READ CARAVAL IT HAS SOME OF THE SAME CHARACTERS (AND JACKS 😊)AND COMPLETE DIFF STORYLINE BUT IT WAS SO GOOD
I loved "re-reading" all the Emily Henry and TJR books as audio books this time around. Julia Whelan is such a great narrator. Thanks for inspiring me to try ACOTAR this year!!
I agree. Julia Whelan is my favorite narrator!!
taking a minute to say how I looove your bookshelf (I took it as an inspiration to organize mine)
How is the Never book by Jesse Hastings? Are you enjoying it?

I like your tone. Your thought appeared being clearly delivered and kind of logical.
having Sarah J. Maas as the scale for fantasy books is definitely smart

What is your fav or which book by her would you suggest to start with first
@JulEnglefaris Sense and Sensibility is my favorite! Next to that Pride &Prejudice and Emma!
