Sidney seems to have escaped; he lived to be 98. I feel Sidney may be spoofing the dream ballets of Agnes de Mille et al. here. Fun fact: 'Susan Slept Here' was a production of Harriet 'Parsons Junior', the lesbian daughter of gossip queen Louella Parsons.

Ageism isn't the point. It's a severe imbalance. If she hasn't had time to experience anything else of course he's amazing. If she waited till she was say 25 she may change her mind and want someone closer to her own age. This is why child marriage is illegal in so many places. I understand that she was supposed to be 17 and he 35 but in reality she was 21 and he 50. It's really gross.
