When I lived in my apartment, I often got bored. I've lived in my truck full time for four years now, and there's always something fun to look forward to. I have admin days too where I update my maintenance, budget, expense, and places traveled to spreadsheets in my laptop. I do alot of my own maintenance which saves me a ton of cash.
I have to do some more going through stuff. There are a few items that I find really difficult to get rid of, or throw it out. One item in particular is an old broken 1950's cigarette ashtray stand that my parents received as a wedding gift. The top part has broke and fallen off due to rust. Yet, I don't want to get rid of it because it belonged to my parents and I do remember it growing up. Or, throwing out pictures because I have no place to put them. I find that I get really overwhelmed and feel awful when I do this type of task. I live in a really small apartment and it can't hold alot of things.
Hi Elizabeth ive been watching your content over the last few days and really enjoy what you do . I have a concern that you may or may not be interested in.and that is I haven’t seen you with a fire extinguisher in your car for you or to help another if the need arose. Also id like to point out that most vanlifers don’t seem to carry any thing like CPR masks and gloves in case you have to help with an accident till the ambo gets there . Me being now a van dweller now and from travels with my parents when i was younger they gave me a lot of knowledge base for these concerns . You may never need to use a cpr mask to keep some one alive but god forbid at least you have one if or when the time came.also I haven’t seen any one install smoke detectors. I have seen co2 detectors but not many in cars. Any how keep doing what your doing its very how do put this your good company. My mom has a Subaru.and she wants to travel she’s 62years old and works in child care in Toowoomba so if she carnt afford a big van if its ok with ,I’m going to show her your videos and maybe she could start there. KIND REGARDS Jessie ps stay safe and happy god bless for the future ❤😊
Loving your videos! Just started this one. With so many books, are you on good reads? I saw the sixth extinction in one of your other videos and added it to my want to read list. Looks very interesting! Thank you for your video content!
@@elizabethoffgridHi ! Nice to see that you're channel is growing and that the haters haven't stopped you. I went back to work but I will catch up to you and your nice detailed vids!
I can’t remember if you have a roof rack on that car or not. It’s got a sunroof so you wouldn’t want to block that but if you had a roof storage box it would give you more options. I got a Jeep so I have limited space and I’m going roof tent. Just a thought.
I can see that. It will cut down your mpg and it will stand out more. Probably limit it to out of state trips because the car tag is going to stand out anyway. Just a thought.
I’m learning to live most days in my Subaru Outback I park at the marina in Long Beach Always a cool breeze Going to central coast Sunday Camping is full tho I love facilities Really like your videos Thank you I do my paperwork and research at Starbucks Very nice one in sunset beach
Soooo, really less of a week in the life video, and more of a week trying to figure out how to live a week in your life, lol. And it’ll change as soon as you figure it out. Life is change. And living in a car is a BIG change. Good luck. Fun watching you try to figure it out though - and your reasoning. Thanks.
Hi Elizabeth , I love watching your videos😊 !! I was wondering if it’s easy to find overnight parking in your area. Do you have a number of spots that you just rotate when you are in town?
In my area I usually park at the same spot each night. No one cares there, and it has been safe. My thought is people just assume that I live around there, when they see my car.
Cute creepy light in storage. I love books also and they are important. Why not set up your library in the storage unit? Picnic pavilions have electricity sometimes, have you ever tried to charge electronics/battery there with extension cord?
Most of the time I go to somewhere cooler (like the beach or mountains), but if I am in town it's about parking in the shade, lots of fans, and a spray bottle of water
Sometimes when I am reading in my car I use my windshield cover to prop at my side window to block the sun. That might help when working in your car.
Yep I have window coverings for all of my windows!

Yes it is hard work to do, especially if you feel forced by a small space.
Thanks for sharing your story Elizabeth! You are a cool person!
Thank you so much!

Yep I have a fire extinguisher! One of these days I should do a video about safety / emergency supplies.

Thanks! Not really re good reads - I was for a bit but it weirdly stressed me to keep track of books that way 🤷🏻♀️
Nice to see you Elizabeth! Nice vid!.😊

I personally love going to Panera bread on hot days! Fast wifi, plus u cant beat the unlimited sip club membership to stay hydrated!
I have done that too!! But all 3 paneras around here have terribly slow WiFi!! Can’t even check email reliably. Maybe just too many people using it.
@@elizabethoffgrid Bummer!

I do plan to get one, but probably won’t have it on there all the time bc gas mileage and stelthiness

I am thinking about a little library!
My place to park at Walmart is light pole #9. Too hot here in Tampa. How do you stay cool in this heat?

I've seen videos of other vanlifers sleep in those pull outs
Yes I've slept in some but it depends on the rules about each pullout
