      It’s not that difficult you could do it yourself, I’m 76 and just installed one for my great granddaughter. I did it all by myself.

    Why didn't you use the stuff it came with?

    • @thenicgatesshow
      @thenicgatesshow  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Are you referring to the hardware and chains to hang it from the ceiling? If so, it didn’t come with that stuff. Depending on whether you or your kids plan on simply sitting or spinning in the chair will determine what type of hardware you’ll need to get.

    Hey there! Question for you. I got the same swing and just put it up for my daughter. Toward the end of your video, when your daughter first sits on the chair, it looks much lower and less like a comfy chair than at the very end with the pillows in it. Did you make adjustments somehow? Like twisting the ropes that slide on the pole? Or is it literally just because of the extra pillows?
    Also, that is for sharing!

      Thanks for your comment! I def didn’t twist the ropes. If anything I may have adjusted the chains though.

    Literally the most important piece of information you could share here is what size drill bit for the hole!! Nothin. Just marches on thru, “get yourself a drill” isn’t really helpful. 😂😂

      You’re right! I didn’t say what size drill bit. When you purchase a bolt it will say on the package what size drill bit to use. This will be different depending on what size you buy. Also, the set up I use in this video is to used for just sitting in. If your child wants to be able to spin in the chair you’ll need different hardware. If not, you’ll find out the hard way that the bolt will slowly start to loosen and eventually come out.

      @@thenicgatesshow that happened to me. The whole thing fell on my head because my kid likes to spin in it

    what size eye bolt did you use? thanks

    • @thenicgatesshow
      @thenicgatesshow  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe it was a 3/4” but you can always go bigger if you’d like

  • @dasweed1323

    How's the eye bolt holding up? Strong enough?

    • @thenicgatesshow
      @thenicgatesshow  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Terrific! I’ve even sat in it a few times and it holds me just fine. However, the hammock is not made for spinning by using the eye bolt alone. If that’s what the kids want to do then you’ll need a different set up.

      And just don’t drill your pilot hole too big.

    Nice! How much pounds can that hook hold?

    • @thenicgatesshow
      @thenicgatesshow  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe this one in particular holds up to 150 lbs but you can get any size you feel comfortable with. Also, you can different hardware as well depending on what you want. For, example this is not made for spinning. Simply sitting with the
      occasional rocking back and forth. Hope this helps!
