Its me J3n again & her other YT channel Save Your Thyroid cover multiple treatment options including Radio Frequency Abation, Laser Ablation, Cryoablation, & recently, placing targeted embolisms in the blood vessels feeding the different lobes of the thyroid. Most of these leave the thyroid largely intact & functioning. They also can tell you if they know of a facility offering these (& the ones I can't remember) in your area.
I have had a multi nodular goitre for two years and have scary swallowing episodes almost daily , so tend to live on soft foods and smooth soups .My mother had one as well and some nodules turned cancerous , yet my GP doesn't seem concerned. I have blood tests relayed to both my thyroid and parathyroid glands twice yearly and had an endoscopy down my throat ( horrible experience ) and fortunately it showed nothing nasty ,but that was done not long after the thyroid scan which had found the goitre which is growing inward and therefore affecting my swalliowing . I may have to have goutre and thyroid gland removed which terrifies me , to be honest. Has anyone reading this had that surgery ? My voice is very hoarse.

The 2nd person said it came back with a vengeance & started growing into her chest. So I want long term testimonials addressed 1st.

I’m in Australia I don’t know what to do help ? Doctors want to take my thyroid out I don’t have symptoms the doctor actually said that they don’t know if the nodule is cancer so I would like to know where I can go and what to do pls pls help someone to give me the best advice, I don’t want to take my thyroid gland out
Did they do needle biopsy and stage it on scale 1 to 6? All the stages they use except for 1 and 4 i believe sre debateable, its only clear cut in 1, beibg not cancer and 4, i believe is certain cancer.
I had a near total thyroidectomy done in May of 2010 and I regret it to this day. I wish I would've followed a strict diet and never gotten my thyroid removed. I have never felt the same since, I also have thinning hair and it's not healthy like it was before my surgery.
You’re in luck. The doctor in this video, Dr Catherine Sinclair is in Australia. This is an old video. I have been seeing her with a view to have thyroid ablation. She’s in Melbourne. Look her up.
My wife just had 4 thyroid nodules removed yesterday (9-18-23). One of them was "harder" in feel and behind the right side of her thyroid and other 3 were to the left....so they removed the whole thing to be safe...,..She's been winning the battle on cancer for the last 2 years so she definitely has a history ....otherwise, most times total removal is not needed......but it's only one tiny pill a day if needed. She's coming home in a few hours...pain is minimal. Heck, she was eating a sandwich yesterday a few hours after the procedure! Her thyroid's prolly been unknowingly hyperactive for years...we just didn't know... She never says how she feels, just puts up with it. So...Don't worry... it's a very common procedure...very, very small risk....you'll "feel" much better after a few days...and even better after a few weeks!
@@srk54989 was sitting at my desk when your reply came...She's back in the kitchen making cream of wheat, bowls of watermelon pieces and enjoying ice-cream bars...I spoil her a little...You'll be fine....edit: if you're scheduled for a procedure, let me know how it goes. The doctor told me it's very routine, don't worry.... it heals quickly.
I would take it out in my opinion. To simply monitor for it potentially grow and become problematic seems not a good idea. The burden of having to take life long thyroid medication post thyroidectomy is a small price to pay. We take medication 💊 for blood pressure, diabetes etc. The risk of surgery is extremely rare.
You obviously haven't had to live on thyroid replacement hormones and the constant trips to the ER to try and balance out life threatening thyroid hormones and all the life altering and debilitating side effects of having your entire thyroid removed.
The thyroid gland regulates heartbeat & body temperature along with food absorption. It's not like an organ such as appendix & gallbladder that we can live without. I've got 1 large nodule & 2 small ones, all benign. I just started having ultrasounds every 6 months & have altered my diet to help hopefully not aggravate my thyroid. So far, my physician says we can wait & see. I'm old & the survival rate for non-invasive thyroid cancer is 20 years.
How can I find out where I can get this treatment? Great news and especially for me: I have nodules on both sides, the left is enlarged and the specialist is recommending surgery. I very much opposed to this and must be the last option.
@@Greatful0374 Don't believe everything you read on the net.....It's very common, mostly in women...many never even have symptoms, but those who need the procedure are living normally...can't see the scar...no meds needed unless they remove the whole thing....and that's only one tiny pill a day....
