I can't believe that you've presented Vizcaya to everyone. It's one of my favorite places to visit -I lived in the area years ago and am very familiar with it - remembering it when there were no glass doors nor roof over the central open air patio to shield it from the elements. Much work has been done restoring it over the years, the silks, the furniture, etc., from the humidity. A truly beautiful place. The house was finished around 1915 or so, I believe, but the gardens weren't completed until years later. James Deering, alas, didn't live too long too enjoy this fabulous place - as he died only a year or two after it opened. Modern medicine would have saved his life, but he died before a simple injection would have saved him. Originally from Maine the family made its fortune in agricultural equipment, and headed for Miami instead of Newport for the winter. The entire setting of Vizcaya is what makes it so special -it was carved out of mangroves, as there was no Miami at the time he was there. A brother built his home further south, also along the water. Imagine that, with boats and yachts being the main means of transportation. The breakfront had palm trees, gazebo for orchestra, and parties were held there, gondolas transporting the guests to and from the main house. Wonderful presentation, I was with you every step of the way. What a treat. Your lovely sister, niece and friend must have spent all day there in order to capture all of it. Other big homes of the wealthy are more lavish, such as the Breakers, but Vizcaya has the whole package. Deering wanted to come upon it from the bay. A hurricane or two caused flooding the gift shop, the losing of an obelisk or two on the barge (which have been restored).and current cafe (the original billiard room) which looked out to the swimming pool. Wonderful video, thank you.
As a person who loved traveling her own country of New Zealand extensively, it's you & my family who take me all over the world. You are such a fabulous tour guide. Thank you Vivienne. Safe travels. 🙏❤
What an amazing chateau. It's absolutely stunning, but your neice Wren is even more stunning. She has an old Hollywood glamor look. Her partner Ash is also stunning. This memory will last forever with you all. Thanks for sharing and for the tour.❤
Thank you, Peter! I agree… she is so beautiful (inside and out) as is Ashe. This was a very happy day for all of us, especially as we hadn’t seen each other for so long. 🥰🏰💖
Wow! Just WOW! How beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Never knew about this castle. Lol watching your bloopers...so nice to see the love for each other. Your sister is funny.
Absolutely the most beautiful place in America. Loved everything thing about it. Thank you for taking us on this spectacular tour along with you four gorgeous ladies❤
Thank you so much sharing you visit, I would need to lay on the floor to see the beautiful ceilings. Your niece and her girlfriend are so stunning too, your just an all round gorgeous family. K🇬🇧❤️❤️.
‘Friends not food’, best take away from this! Of course there is also the delight of being introduced to this castle by you Vivienne and your lovely family. Thank you.
A gorgeous chateau visited by beautiful and charming ladies, what else ? Seriously it was an amazing visit and your comments were very interesting plus I didn t know there were such a chateau in Florida. A pleasure to watch. ❤❤❤❤
So beautiful! Thank you for taking us to this stunning chateau! So lovely to see you together with your divine family…what a good looking bunch of ladies. You always have such fun together! ❤
Thank you for sharing your visit to Vizcaya. I went last year and it took my breath away. There’s so much mystery behind it. Not many records were left behind about the people who built it, who worked there, or even the owner. There were many amazing parties attended by Eastern coastal elite. And yet, very little was recorded! I’m inspired to research more about the estate and the gardens. This is a wonderful place to visit if anyone finds themselves in Miami. It’s only 30 minutes from South Beach. Thank you again, Vivienne!
Hi Vivienne, Thanks so much for6 sharing your trip to Vizcaya. I had been there many years ago and it brought back wonderful memories of that trip. The collection of styles and periods of antiques at Vizcaya ar inspiration for moving forward with renovations of our home. I also saw the joy you have being thee with your family. Mark & Scott
I live in Pennsylvania and have wanted to go here for years! I have been to Biltmore and several other of the castles of America. Thanks so much for the tour, it was beautiful! Now I want to go even more!
Bonjour Buongiorno hello my darling Vivienne I’m speechless Vizcaya is just jaw dropping stunning so lovely to see Ashley your niece and her lovely partner my time with you all stood still while touring each room lost for words you could be in many parts of the world even the outside gondola lagoon Amore amore 💖💖The gardens lush exotic plants water features a magnificent Chateau indeed Vivienne you’ve filled my day with beauty wonder curiosity splendour grazie mille Thankyou for lighting and inspiring my life enchante blessings to you and your beautiful family 💖💖😘😘🙏🙏🌟
Bonjour darling Brenda, your messages always bring such a smile! Thank you for your endless joy and encouragement… such little things that mean so much. Amore, amore, amore! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I really appreciate all your knowledge with periods, architects, designers etc. Makes it so interesting when we're watching. Thanks so much Vivienne. Great to see your sister too and I agree your niece is just as beautiful as you and your sister are.
I have been to Vizcaya and it is indeed one of the most beautiful estates ever created. I especially loved the Italianate dock as well. I vividly recall being there at Easter time one year and when we were going to the patio overlooking the sea, in the atrium there were two huge easter lilies flanking the entry. It was the only time I have ever seen huge easter lily trees in their natural growth setting. The scent was intoxicating and memorable. Although it is 'over the top' as are many lux estates, it is so well curated, that it is so charming elegant and timeless. Enjoyed the tour and thank you for the memories. XOXO, Bren
Hello Vivienne , thank you for bringing us along with your lovely family. I adore Ashley’s version of La vie en rose I could play it over and over. 😘🇨🇮
I grew up in Miami and Vizcaya was a frequent stop. Fairchilds Tropical Garden is also a treasure. The gondola was used for the musicians as their 'stage' during the parties.
I have gone to Vizcaya 5 times since I was in High School. Thought about getting married there but couldn't swing it. I love it there. I find it so peaceful and lovely. Would love to soak in one of the tubs with the salt water.❤❤❤ and then spend the night.😊
Now, Vivienne, you I hope are in the back drops also. This is a real treat!!! Thank you. What is not to love, what is not to love, oh my!!! I will have to look at least one more time. The music is so soothing. Thank you for this treat. God bless you all!!!
Vizcaya is absolutely stunning...thank you for the tour. I have been to the Biltmore in North Carolina (Amazing yes...however I see why you love Vizcaya the most!). Take good care...talk soon!
Thank you! I visited Vizcaya only last month while on a cruise. But the tender from the ship, then the bus ride, took too much time, and we were allowed maybe 30 minutes (!) at Vizcaya. I did a quick run through of the downstairs and the surrounding areas. I was afraid to go upstairs because my knees would not allow me to come back down quickly. Unfortunately, I didn't look up at the beautiful ceilings, but I did get some great shots of the marvelous floors and the coral bricks on the patio in the back. It should have been an all-day experience! So I appreciate your showing it to us in more detail.
Thank you so much! I have been going to Miami forever and never knew about this beautiful castle! Heading there in two weeks. I love your happy vibes❤️
Never heard of Vizcaya !!! WOW --- it was there before Miami or Miami Beach. Vizcaya village was across the street and grew its own food --- I think they had their own telephone system and electricity there. It's a beautiful place. Those rooms in the entryway by the library are to die for. Pompeiian ceilings, jus everything. Europe in Miami. You must visit. It's a large place, including the gardens, so plan a long visit. James died a bachelor, left the house plus property to his nieces. It was even larger, had tennis courts beyond the Casino, lagoons, etc -they sold the southernmost third to the Catholic Church who built at least one school there, as well as Mercy Hospital. A huge tract of land. Mary Brickell was the pioneer who owned that before. Interesting history. Miami is very new, very young. Lots of fairly recent events took place as it was founded and grew and grew and grew.
My favorite "castle" would be The Breakers in Newport RI. Any of the mansions in Newport are worth a look and a dream of what it would be to live there.
I bet Isabelle would have loved Vizcaya. Perhaps, she's already seen it. What a magnificent estate. The amazing beauty just kept coming. I couldn't possibly tell you which of the many opulent bedrooms were my favorites. There were so many beautiful elements and styles everywhere but the kitchen and pantry. Nice collection of copper cookware though. The gardens and grounds were no exception to the general theme of opulence. Every corner, nook and cranny was hiding something wonderful. As for your own private collection of baubles et objets d'art, you know I'm rather fond of Wedgwood too. But, I love all of your pieces. I had to titter at your comment, "I love a dumb waiter." That was definitely a winning episode. Bravo, Vivienne! Best regards to Simon. ❤ from TX!
I’ve wanted to tell you how much I enjoy you and your family on You Tube and it seems like the perfect time since you’re back “home” in Florida. I am a Florida Native as well. Please keep having fun and decorating. I never get tired of you, Simon and lovely Isabel. Much love from Pensacola!
What stunningly beautiful rooms! There was not one room I didn’t think was gorgeous. Thank you for sharing it with us. The gardens were exceptional, too. I loved it all.
Mirko! That is high praise coming from you. For anyone who reads this, check out Mirko’s beautiful YT channel of his travels around the world with his band Air Supply @meerkatstudioproductions! 🏰💖🥰💖🏰🥰💖💖💖💖💖
Thanks, i was there about 1990. There was a drought that year so they couldn't water. It was so nice to see the gardens as they were meant to be. Thanks again.
I have been excited yo het there for so long! Merci beau coup! It wss another second vlog from the Love Chateau. I enjoyed immensely, will be watching again today! Water and tropical gardens oh my!
What a fabulous tour! I love the use of multiple matching chandeliers in the corners of the ceilings rather than always one large chandelier in the middle! The floors were breathtaking & the overall decor is right out of a fairy tale! I live in the states & have never heard of it❣️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Vizcaya has more personality to it, in my view. The Biltmore is just huge at every level. Like the Breakers, with its two story kitchen - for all the serving pieces, etc. Vizcaya is a jewel on the water, not ostentatious. Very mindful of the natural environment - you can feel the way it was originally along the mangroves. Wonderful place.
What a treat to see this amazing American Castle. I want to know who polishes that copper and will they travel to NY to keep mine as shining! Absolutely fabulous.
Ty! I really love the information! I’m heading there on Thursday. So excited to see it! I live very close to Newport,RI and we spend so much time there. It’s nice see in Florida as well☀️💛
I had never heard of this place when I visited Miami many moons ago. What an amazing place. I have to agree it is one of the most beautiful castles. Love the sea views. What a fun day with your sister, niece and friend. Such a beautiful family. Thanks for taking us along 😍😘
Newport, RI has some amazing properties, as well as Hyde Park, NY, and Long Island! There are a lot of grand homes with gardens. The Vanderbilts, and Rockefeller have some nice mansions!
Vivienne, I would sincerely urge you to make an effort to go to California to see Randolph Hearst’s “San Simeon.” For me, it exceeds all other’s particularly because it was Julia Morgan, for me one of the greatest architects of all time, who designed and oversaw the building of what Mr. Hearst called his “ranch.” He left it to her to choose and design if necessary both the interiors as well as exteriors and gardens!! ❤️🙏♥️
Oh thank you for the tour! Monty Don covered the gardens in his American Gardens series but did not go inside the villa. Italianate, but yes, so many style interpretations that can't be imagined and need to be seen. So different. ❤
Wow!! Thank you so much for sharing this castle! I’ve been to Hearst Castle, but never knew there was one in Florida!! It is incredible!! Love from Mary in Southern California 💗
Vivienne, what a beautiful home you have shown us! I traveled to Miami many times, but had never heard about this place, until you. Thank you for sharing this with us. My travels spent in Florida for the summer months were at St. Armands Key. John and Mabel Ringling (yes, of the circus) have a home there, they built in the same age period. If you ever get a chance to visit their home and museum, I think you would find it spectacular also. Though, the decor is not as opulent, it is a beautiful home. They also built a waterfront cement pier, right behind their backdoor, looking over the gulf. I think you would find it a showcase. The artwork in the museum part is phenomenal. They also say it's haunted. Ida, the sister of John Ringling, lived in a home, beside their mansion. Having a friend who worked there as the head of security, he stated he had seen many things. I love your videos and get excited to watch everytime my bell rings, telling me you have a new vlog coming on! Knowing you live in Europe, but are American makes me see everything you show in a new light. And, since I can't travel anymore, your videos make traveling to these places, make me happy and excited, to share them with you!!
My first visual tour of an American castle, I can't imagine another one topping this one. The craftsmanship! The carpets! Who created that carpet masterpiece in the huge (Empire?) style room? I'm going back for a second watch later. Thank you for taking us along!

Breakfast room, a real stunner!!
Had one of those phone niches under the staircase in the house in which I grew up.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful castle. Been to Hearst Castle but Vizcaya is more stunning! And, so are you & your family!
My favorite "castle" would be The Breakers in Newport RI. Any of the mansions in Newport are worth a look and a dream of what it would be to live there.
But The Breakers has always been a Luxury Hotel. I had my high school graduation party there.
I bet Isabelle would have loved Vizcaya. Perhaps, she's already seen it.

That was definitely a winning episode. Bravo, Vivienne!
Best regards to Simon.

One Of your best video's yet.!
Oh, thank you! 🥰🏰💖
If your still in Florida you should visit the Flagler museum in West Palm Beach. It’s really amazing as well.
Yes, indeed. He brought the railroad all the way to Key West, set the area in motion.
Probably visited 20 years ago! Great to see it again!
Love that you show us these beautiful castles.
Thank you, Linda! 🥰🏰💖

Beautiful tour Vivienne. Thank you!

My favorite as well. We had our honeymoon in Miami and fall in love with Vizcaya over forty-five ago
Thanks for sharing your trip to this stunning chateau wow , take care and see you next time 💕🌼🤗
You really need to visit Biltmore!!!

Wow, that was a real treat! Thank you!
The Biltmore Estate is the largest home in America and most beautiful by far!
Really big, but not most beautiful... One feels dwarfed there. Love the Biltmore library, though. That is simply gorgeous.
Wow !,
Beautiful vlog, loved seeing the faience, in particular the Quimper as I collect it. 🌼🌺
I so enjoyed a Renaissance Festival in the gardens many years ago at Vizcaya. It’s a very fond memory of mine
Me, too ! Perfect spotfor that.
Majestic! Merci!
Another great vlog Vivian. ❤
Just stunning ❤
Amazing place. Glad to know about it.
Stunning 💖
I just love the porcelain
I just want to say that was a real treat. Is Ren your sisters daughter? They do look alike. Very beautiful ladies. Thanks for a very special video 😍

I have never heard of this castle, ashamed being an American! Thanks for the great tour❣️
Thank you for joining us! 🥰🏰💖
I am so happy to be able to share these special times with you! 🥰🏰💖
My first visual tour of an American castle, I can't imagine another one topping this one. The craftsmanship! The carpets! Who created that carpet masterpiece in the huge (Empire?) style room? I'm going back for a second watch later. Thank you for taking us along!
So happy you could join us! 🏰💖
Very beautiful vlog ! I find it hard to compare I prefer to enjoy each as they all different in their own way .
