My friend, God bless you for posting that video of your MAF Translator. I bought an 86 GN like 2 years ago. It was breaking up at WOT. I had few Mechanics doing and changing few stuff and nothing worked. I saw the paperwork from the original owner and he had that ongoing issue since 2006 which I just found out after going through his paperwork. Well after I watched your video I decided to open up the MAF Translator and it turned out that whoever installed it for him left it in stock settings, I’m thinking he thought it was a plug and play not realizing he had to change the dip switch’s to the combo it has. It has a 93 Chip and 60 lbs Injectors with the 3.5 in LS1 MAF. After I changed the dips to standard, 3 on and 1 off and I changed the WOT to #1 (2 percent rich) she’s running Perfect my friend!!! You are the Man!!! I hope you still own your GN and didn’t sell it. God Bless and please keep posting those videos!!!🙏🙏🙏
came back to your video again I am having a super rich problem with my car so I am going over everything. I have a translator with a LS1 MAF I also have a old POSTON Enterprises chip it has a thumbwheel so I can change the chips tune on the fly I guess? my question is for the dip switch setting what category does my chip fall into? standard or extender or extreme extender I looked and Poston doesn't mention anything
Should fall under stock. Instructions should be on the lid of the translator. Delete the translator and MAF and put a stock unit on to test, see how it runs. If it runs well then put the translator back on and use a known good MAF. If it runs good it was a bad MAF, if it still runs poorly, it is the translator. If it ran poorly with the stock MAF you may have a stuck injector, but it is hard to tell with the info.
good video wanted to ask would yo happen to know what vehicles that new Delphi maf comes in? from the factory want to try to source one from the salvage yard
Have a MAF T PLUS with 4 dipswitches and 4 rotary switches. Seems there should be another rotary switch to change MAF's? Says version 6. Set pn 85mm MAF. Any experience with it? Want to use a 3" .
Hey boss, quick question. I converted over to the ls1 3.5 maf with the translator on my 86 GN. I have a pitbull chip (i know, old school and it should be changed. Im just trying to get the car running right before i change it) would i go with the standard chip adjustment or the extender adjustment? i noticed your chip actually says extender.
@@VenomGT87 Thank you.I originally had it at that adjustment and i was still getting a code for the Maf. I purchased all the parts new through full throttle. Any thoughts other than the maf possibly out of calibration?
Joshua Wirht thats why I say XFI. With it you are not tied down to Buick specific band-aids and if you learn the software you can get as creative as you want to be.
Hey Bro you got some good videos.. Quick question..My scanmaster is showing this. 390-425 Af -06 L8-76 Bat-13.5 Int-128 Bl-110 Nph-00 Clt-173 Ats-86 R-750-800 Tps-.44 Iac-03 Cc-81 Nal-25&45 And its running like shit lol

Happy to hear! I still have it, I've just been busy with family and life in general.
Good to hear my friend ❤

Most modern GM vehicles share the part number. Anything GM/GMC with a V8 is your best bet at a salvage yard.
@@VenomGT87 would you know a year starting point? I should look for? Like 2005 and newer
You will find MAFs on 2000 and newer but you want something out of a 2006 or newer vette, camaro or V8 equipped work trucks of the same years.
Love the channel! QuestionWhy do you run 2% rich vs 4% rich?
Thank you! Every car is different, mine seemed to behave best at 2%

I have not used one of those, just the one in the video.

Standard chip setting.

Just got a GN and kind of new to this stuff. So the MAF is what makes the car sound like that in the video clip on the beginning?
No, thats the turbo surge. The MAF reads wrong when there is surge.

@@VenomGT87 okay gotcha. Thanks
Will this work with the stock chip?
Yes. You just have set the switches as per the instructions.
can you use this for an 85? The websites just show 86-87.
You’d have to upgrade to the 86-87 computer, but honestly I would just save up and upgrade to a FAST XFI and delete the MAF all together.
@@VenomGT87 thank you. I have an 85 and there just doesn't seem to be much out there for them anymore.
