Hi, yeah I'm on Twitter as @heydonworks but I'm trying to use it less. Best bet is heydon@mastodon.social. I don't stream because I'm not very interesting off-the-cuff LOL. Thanks for watching!
If I understand correctly, the video suggests using JavaScript modules as progressive enhancement and *not* providing a “nomodule” script for IE and pre-Chromium Edge. For people who *do* want to use “nomodule,” is the Safari issue still relevant? IIRC, an older version of Safari would load and execute both scripts.
@@heydonworks thanks for making the video and explaining the module loading , For this question "If I understand correctly, the video suggests using JavaScript modules as progressive enhancement and not providing a “nomodule” script for IE and pre-Chromium Edge." --- is answers Yes?
Hi Mohamed. You can use `nomodule` to provide (transpiled) JS to older browsers OR you can just use `type="module"`, meaning those browsers get _no_ JavaScript. But then you need to prerender, or render statically, and not _depend_ on JS for those browsers' basic/fallback functionality.
This is the most fantastic dev content I ever saw!
