Brain Writes A Bestseller - Brian becomes famous thanks to Stewie, and repays him horribly, for no reason. 8. Stewie Is Enecinte - Stewie becoming pregnant with his dog’s DNA is an automatic sign that Family Guy went too far. 7. Herpe The Love Sore - Brain gives Stewie herpes for no reason. Not only is Brain unlikable for no reason, but the premise alone is just sick. 6. Peter-Assment - Angela harasses Peter and the episode expects you to sympathize with her, rather than give justice, and also let Peter TAKE it. 5. The 2,000 Year Old Virgin - Jesus faking virginity to sleep with Peter’s wife? It’s one thing to take on a religious concept, but BE CLEVER WITH IT! Depiction is lazy and uninspired. 4. Excellence In Broadcasting - Brian becomes the opposite of himself, which DOES NOT compel me in the slightest, especially when he’s pretending to be something he’s not. 3. Dishonorable mentions: * Partial Terms Of Endearment - Plot could’ve been written better, and so could’ve the concept. * Trans Fat - Offensive even for Family Guy, making Quagmire’s Dad nothing in comparison. * Peter Problems - Lazy writing, characterization, and portrayal of Peter being a househusband. * Love Blacktually - Wasted potential for Brian’s perfect girlfriend, which gets taken by Cleveland. Also, Cleveland was super unlikeable. * Send In Stewie Please - A boring episode that became pointless thanks to it’s terrible ending. 1. Life Of Brian - If there’s ONE time Family Guy jumped the 🦈, it’s killing Brian.
'Vestigial Peter' wasn't horrible, in my opinion, but just felt like another midseason episode. It felt kinda mid, when it could've been a stronger, impactful episode. Chip was mildly annoying, sure, really shows the contrast to how Peter used to be in earlier seasons.. So I'm usually pretty lenient on THIS one. 'Stewie is Enceinte' is just.. Bad. Like really bad. 😆 'A Stache From the Past' had potential, but underused Tom Selleck.. and it wasn't actually Tom Selleck. ..and Brian's 'death arc' should've lasted for longer than three episodes. Like a full season, if the plan was to bring Brian back. Though, I could imagine the Griffin family eventually replacing Brian (if the death was meant to be permanent), and Vinnie isn't that bad of a character.. He just needed more time to develop, and if the writers committed to this arc, I think even the viewers could've warmed up to this idea. Overall, it just served as a manipulative nothing burger, and we lost a more grounded talking dog character.
IMO the arc with Brian dying should have made for some development. Have Stewie investigate to find out who could have killed Brian and why. We know Quagmire hates him, but there are likely many others who would have a reason to murder him - an ex, someone he wronged... I feel like it was a missed opportunity and instead we got some cheap shock value with a very underwhelming resolution.
In my opinion, the stewie-brian-baby episode is the worst episode in the series by far. Call me old fashioned but the idea of a *gags* baby having a temporary uterus put in them, coupled with the fact that its a *gags again* dog's baby is straight up nightmare fuel.

Old West actually have a pretty cool concept for a episode, I could see it working if it had less talking and more aciton - especially considering the theme is around... well... the Old West. The episode about religion could've also been a interresting one, if the writing was actually good. Like how religion in the world, no matter which, can led to both positive and negative things about humanity, for instance Brazil is number 1 in the world when it comes to a country influenced by christianity, yet in Rio de Janeiro, one of its biggest cities, many die or are harmed by religious crimes. The episode could've tackled the gray morale of everything in life, including religion, and have a message about acceptance in general. But instead the episode just choses to be of shock value.
I probably liked the DVD commentary episode most out of these - the whole point was that the episode made absolutely no sense plotwise (the firebreathing Jesus - them being stuck in the stairs - think that happend on American Dad too? - the random pilgrim village) but just casually happens adds to the humor
The last one is a low IQ move, If you want to watch the episode without the commentary, you can find it as a bonus feature on the dvd release, even then the commentary is the meat of the episode.

I think that Brian did worse things in the later seasons from destroying Meg's faith in God, destroying a religious scene, destroying Christianity, removing a statue for woke points.
