Flamenco isn't about being skinny-scrawny like other traditional dance forms...it's about looking like a woman! I'm proud to have anyone with her level of talent represent this city!

Very nice! Many PeoPLe don't understand, that a Dancer's attitude has EVERYTHING to do with their performance. You can argue technique all day, but if the Dancer isn't smiling or looks like she'd rather be somewhere else, it all fails. {I'm not a dancer} She has great Attitude..Beautiful

She was good! And there's nothing wrong with the way she looks. In fact, the women in Flamenco (like the Belly Dancers) are desired a bit "bigger." I lived in Spain (Rota Naval Base and El Puerto de Santa Maria) from 1976-1979, and it was the best 3 years of my childhood. Three of my favorite things came out of my time there: Favorite dance (Flamenco), city (Seville) and historical feature (Roman ruins of Italica, in the town of Santipoince, 9kms north of Seville). !Y viva Expana!

this is Sevillanas dance...which you do smile because it is celebration dance...And for what it is she is doing it very well. Note: not all flamenco dances are dramatic :)
Actually, Sevillanas is the form of the song. There are thousands of verses of Sevillanas in many different styles including de Feria, Rocieras, Classicas, Boleras, etc. There is a film based entirely on this form of song and dance. The title is "Sevillanas" by director Carlos Saura. Check it out. It is a beautiful work of art.
I know this girl and she is organizing a benefit for premature babies. It's called Krystal for kids. She is such a beautiful person and humanitarian. On top of that, she is very beautiful and very talented and now she is Miss Recreation because she won with her essay and interview too, so she is intelligent and talented. For me, Flamenco is an expression of self. If I were to here 6 renditions of Aleluia Hallelujah and they all be the same, I'd be bored - it would be over-done. I like this young girls take on how she wants to perform her piece. I like the melancholy of the Flamenco, but I also like the happy bits.

I dance flamenco In venezuela and Im a teacher and that's called Sevillanas, just because i believe that critics are important I must say that dance is the basics of flamenco, and it is not hard at all. little 3 year old's can do it. This dance was not only boring but I believe that if you are really a dancer, and that's what difines you you MUST have more actitud at the moment. Soon I will be uploading videos of my Rehersals and classes
First of all, she's not fat!!! Second of all, it's not her size that makes her a good or a bad dancer, it's her talent. I think she's pretty darn good, and if she keeps practicing she'll be really great.
1) Sevillanas is not a Gypsy dance "per say", it is Spanish dance, but this is the first thing you normally learn once you start learning flamenco. And, by all means, most flamenco tablaos would certainly include Sevillanas in their repertoire, as it is most entertaining dance 2) You CAN smile during Sevillanas, it's basically up to you whether to do it happy or dramatic. There are not so many flamenco dances where you smile, but in this one, you definitely can.
YOU ARE AMAZING!¡! and not only your passes, but the castanettes to! you`re dancing and make a rithim on the castanettes at the same time! i`m proud of you! (sorry, i`ve probably misspelled castanettes =P)
She is beautiful and she might not be skinny but as we can see, she is dancing and moving her body graciously and most of the Flamenco dancers are in fact not skinny. Also, one more thing, dancing Flamenco is about passion, you can be ugly, old, fat..whatever, if you have the passion and the fire within, you look great!

Que bella!!!! ya quisiera yo algun dia bailar asi!!! yo quiero bailar flamenco!!!! pero donde vivo, no hay clases. Solo hay una disponible y no me gusto mucho la profesora, la verdad no me mostraba como hacer los pasos. No sentia que me corregia lo suficiente (una estudiante que llevaba un anho con ella bailaba con muy mal porte). La segunda clase mas cerca es a 1 hora y 15 minutos, osea 2 horas y media manejando en total!!! no me alcanza el dinero para ir alla tan seguido. :'(
4) The girl actually is doing it pretty well. She has proper posture and arm position, does good job with castanets (which is NOT easy!), and, dances pretty much in compas, which is the most essential thing. And she does all the correct Sevillanas coplas, and does them NOT in the easiest way.
