If there's a third person involved, do they all get three points? What about cucking? My mom was trying to get some basic period products at her work. She worked with a group that were specifically all about women's rights at her job, figured out cost and how to articulate why this is important, etc. On the day they were rehearsing in front of people before presenting to her boss, some dude asked, "Yeah, but what do the men get?" One cause of no periods is being severely malnourished. This happened to my mom before, and people assumed she was pregnant when she wasn't. It can be a sign of so many things! PCOS and hormone imbalances can cause people to skip periods - others have issues of malnourishment or being far too stressed out for other factors. Could even be signs of tumors or other issues. Unless it's typical for you and you've already been cleared by medical professionals [highly recommend more than one because doctors can be dismissive of women's issues, hell had one tell me "As there are no tests for PCOS..." ... there are like 10 different ones for it, and were at the time] - see one or a few about long skips. And hey, guess what? A period tracking calendar is GREAT for this information!

Back when I still had a uterus I would go through at least two boxes of tampons and several pads per week of my cycle which was unpredictable and could last multiple weeks. Almost $8 per pack of tampons more for pads, pain medications, heat packs, stuff for bloat, clothing to accommodate bloating, stain removers and replacing ruined clothing. Yeah I save so much money now comparatively. My mom had to adapt a cloth diaper pattern for me so I could save both money and skin because the disposable products chapped because I had to use them so frequently. I was probably spending more that $30 a month just on the period products alone not accounting for all the other things I mentioned here.

Iirc, when I started on T a 10ml bottle of testosterone was about $40 and that would get me through most of a year with the dose I was at, and about 3/4 off a year with what I'm at now. I'm not sure how prices differ by state, but Oregon has been good to me

I'm a trans man meaning I used to have periods. I'm also asexual. I kept track of my periods because I had PCOS, and if it was off, it meant my meds needed to be adjusted. Fortunately, I got a hysterectomy, so I don't have to worry about them anymore.

They're often caused by the expanding and contracting process of temperature changes. Rainwater can erode it, the freeze- thaw cycle continues, and over time a crack forms. It grows and becomes the potholes we all know and love! Turns out- properly maintaining roads can prevent or fix potholes. So even the analogy was super weird!

@OdinsSageI know it’s been a while, but is there any chance you could change doctors? I know it may not be financially feasible, but a doctor purposefully allowing someone’s health to suffer is a huge red flag. If they are gaslighting you about this, there may be stuff down the road where they will do it again, or possibly them already doing it about something else currently. I have some personal experience with similar situations pertaining to getting a diagnosis for some neurological stuff, and I have horrible inconsistent periods too, so I understand a bit. :))

We dont have to destroy gender norms. What we have to destroy is the stigma around breaking them. Because as you said, there are women who want nothing more than to be a housewife, there are men who want nothing more than to be a breadwinner. But if a man wants to be a stay at home husband, raising the kids, doing the cooking and cleaning, while his wife brings home the bacon from her job as a lawyer or manager, that should be perfectly reasonable to want without people thinking it makes him "less of a man". And Trans and Nonbinary people should be able to present and act however the actual fuck they want to as well, whether they're performing your idea of masculinity / femininity / androgyny or not.

I mean technically you can get things that are officially labelled as cookies. There's a place in West Australia I went to that had "New York Cookies" and I ate one and it almost killed me. It was a smore flavoured thing packed with marshmallows and chocolate. The one with the 700-page-book test reminded me of an old folk song in my native language, where a man proclaims that he will only marry the woman, if she can answer his riddles correctly. The woman goes along with the game and answers each riddle correctly. Soon after he says that he has no more riddles to give her und asks her to marry him. To that the woman sings back, if he has no more riddles for her, he should be on his way, she only wants to marry a smart man and not some silly little boy.
I work out pretty regularly, which means I have a casual social circle of other guys who hang around the gym, most of whom take about 2-6 months to figure out or learn that I'm trans. It's an experience.
regarding the "who pays for dates" what i generally prefer to do is "whoever invites you out, does the paying" if i ask you out, I intend to pay for it. obviously i dont hold other people to this without discussing it first, but once that conversation happens, it works really well to eliminate the need to have that "who's gonna pay" at the end of a date.

Regarding the whole "Women use lipstick to garner sexual favours in the workplace" I have often enough felt the need for makeup in order to feel "acceptable looking" by society, to gain a predetermined "professional look" that you are supposed to strive for or to impress other women. I have only once used it to look good for a man, my then boyfriend. Just like most men seem to get jacked to impress other guys, most women seem to get pretty to impress other girls. Or societal standarts, of course.
When I first started dating my husband, I visited a male gynecologist; he was the only one available at the time taking new patients. In honesty, having a guy who isn't my husband poking around down there feels a bit awkward to me. Fortunately, when my husband and I started getting more serious with our relationship, I was able to find a female GP to help me with some other aspects of my health (not just the ladybits), and physicals weren't as nerve-wracking for me. Last spring, my regular doctor moved to a different practice, and I have a male doctor now. My physical is next week. The nervousness and awkwardness has returned. I can't reschedule, as it's already three months overdue. And no, it's not because I feel like it's cheating; it was highly awkward when I got my first physical with a male doctor, too; my mom being there with me didn't make it any less awkward.
Totally understandable! I'd also feel uncomfortable being examined by a male gynecologist (nothing against men who choose to become gynecologists, it's just a personal preference.)

I've been to both and currently go to both a female and a male gynecologist. Difference is that the male is a specialist for pelvic and bladder conditions. He's honestly one of the most caring physicians I've seen. My mom also goes to him for her pelvic and bladder issues as well. On the flip side, I have had some extremely awkward situations with pelvic exams as well. A couple times with males, other times with females. One of the worst was actually with a female gyno. Making comments about how much pain I was in during the exam and how I needed help with that, but wouldn't help me or refer me for help. I understand the anxiety for sure, but I wouldn't be alive today without the 2 male gynecologist/urologist surgeons to actually believe in my pain. I do not exaggerate here. My insides were killing me and other doctors just dismissed me. I'm so sorry that you're anxious about it, and I hope that it goes better than you expect. If possible, I always recommend trying to go to a uro-gyno for these things, because they understand the intricacies of our anatomy much better than any GP of regular gyno would. Even my regular gyno understands her limitations, which is why I go to the specialist.

Working Moms does a great episode on period poverty. They ran a protest at a press meeting about gentrifying the area which meant shutting down the local woman's clinic. One cause of no periods is being severely malnourished. This happened to my mom before, and people assumed she was pregnant when she wasn't. That dude was giving seriously dangerous information that can kill people
It can be a sign of so many things! PCOS and hormone imbalances can cause people to skip periods - others have issues of malnourishment or being far too stressed out for other factors. Could even be signs of tumors or other issues.
Unless it's typical for you and you've already been cleared by medical professionals [highly recommend more than one because doctors can be dismissive of women's issues, hell had one tell me "As there are no tests for PCOS..." ... there are like 10 different ones for it, and were at the time] - see one or a few about long skips.

jesus, really? huh. I mean, I switched to reusables at some point cause I couldn't justify the plastic waste, but back then I was still living with my parents and the cost of supplies never really registered. that really puts it into perspective.
Back when I still had a uterus I would go through at least two boxes of tampons and several pads per week of my cycle which was unpredictable and could last multiple weeks. Almost $8 per pack of tampons more for pads, pain medications, heat packs, stuff for bloat, clothing to accommodate bloating, stain removers and replacing ruined clothing. Yeah I save so much money now comparatively. My mom had to adapt a cloth diaper pattern for me so I could save both money and skin because the disposable products chapped because I had to use them so frequently. I was probably spending more that $30 a month just on the period products alone not accounting for all the other things I mentioned here.

Iirc, when I started on T a 10ml bottle of testosterone was about $40 and that would get me through most of a year with the dose I was at, and about 3/4 off a year with what I'm at now. I'm not sure how prices differ by state, but Oregon has been good to me

I know it may not be financially feasible, but a doctor purposefully allowing someone’s health to suffer is a huge red flag. If they are gaslighting you about this, there may be stuff down the road where they will do it again, or possibly them already doing it about something else currently. I have some personal experience with similar situations pertaining to getting a diagnosis for some neurological stuff, and I have horrible inconsistent periods too, so I understand a bit. :))

We dont have to destroy gender norms. What we have to destroy is the stigma around breaking them. Because as you said, there are women who want nothing more than to be a housewife, there are men who want nothing more than to be a breadwinner. But if a man wants to be a stay at home husband, raising the kids, doing the cooking and cleaning, while his wife brings home the bacon from her job as a lawyer or manager, that should be perfectly reasonable to want without people thinking it makes him "less of a man".
And Trans and Nonbinary people should be able to present and act however the actual fuck they want to as well, whether they're performing your idea of masculinity / femininity / androgyny or not.

The one with the 700-page-book test reminded me of an old folk song in my native language, where a man proclaims that he will only marry the woman, if she can answer his riddles correctly. The woman goes along with the game and answers each riddle correctly. Soon after he says that he has no more riddles to give her und asks her to marry him. To that the woman sings back, if he has no more riddles for her, he should be on his way, she only wants to marry a smart man and not some silly little boy.
I work out pretty regularly, which means I have a casual social circle of other guys who hang around the gym, most of whom take about 2-6 months to figure out or learn that I'm trans.

regarding the "who pays for dates" what i generally prefer to do is "whoever invites you out, does the paying" if i ask you out, I intend to pay for it. obviously i dont hold other people to this without discussing it first, but once that conversation happens, it works really well to eliminate the need to have that "who's gonna pay" at the end of a date.

I have often enough felt the need for makeup in order to feel "acceptable looking" by society, to gain a predetermined "professional look" that you are supposed to strive for or to impress other women. I have only once used it to look good for a man, my then boyfriend.
Just like most men seem to get jacked to impress other guys, most women seem to get pretty to impress other girls.

When I first started dating my husband, I visited a male gynecologist; he was the only one available at the time taking new patients. In honesty, having a guy who isn't my husband poking around down there feels a bit awkward to me. Fortunately, when my husband and I started getting more serious with our relationship, I was able to find a female GP to help me with some other aspects of my health (not just the ladybits), and physicals weren't as nerve-wracking for me. Last spring, my regular doctor moved to a different practice, and I have a male doctor now. My physical is next week. The nervousness and awkwardness has returned. I can't reschedule, as it's already three months overdue. And no, it's not because I feel like it's cheating; it was highly awkward when I got my first physical with a male doctor, too; my mom being there with me didn't make it any less awkward.
Totally understandable! I'd also feel uncomfortable being examined by a male gynecologist (nothing against men who choose to become gynecologists, it's just a personal preference.)

That's why when my obgyn moved from one medical franchise to another, I followed. I was screwed when she retired.
I've been to both and currently go to both a female and a male gynecologist. Difference is that the male is a specialist for pelvic and bladder conditions. He's honestly one of the most caring physicians I've seen. My mom also goes to him for her pelvic and bladder issues as well.
On the flip side, I have had some extremely awkward situations with pelvic exams as well. A couple times with males, other times with females. One of the worst was actually with a female gyno. Making comments about how much pain I was in during the exam and how I needed help with that, but wouldn't help me or refer me for help. I understand the anxiety for sure, but I wouldn't be alive today without the 2 male gynecologist/urologist surgeons to actually believe in my pain. I do not exaggerate here. My insides were killing me and other doctors just dismissed me.
I'm so sorry that you're anxious about it, and I hope that it goes better than you expect. If possible, I always recommend trying to go to a uro-gyno for these things, because they understand the intricacies of our anatomy much better than any GP of regular gyno would. Even my regular gyno understands her limitations, which is why I go to the specialist.
