Those clouds were quite eerie, how it went from a beautiful sky, to a rainbow, to the clouds seemingly pouring rain down and a dark tornado in the middle.
It's not the graphics, it's the clever tricks people use to trick our brains. Notice how the footage is slightly blurry? It wouldn't be that way on a screen capture of a video game, they INTENTIONALLY reduced quality to make it look more realistic and hide imperfections lol

Many of us (myself included) thought it was real because there was no indication it was a game in the title. When we found out and watched it a second time, we became hyper-critical of every little detail. Only then did it become immediately obvious this wasn't real footage.

As a paragliding pilot I was focused on the ground to find a landing field and didn’t notice this was a Simulation! The clouds and land are really realistic!
@MysticalKO Grass creates much more friction. According to engineeringtoolbox, car tires on asphalt creates half the friction force of car tires on grass (more specifically, asphalt has double the friction coefficient). Which means acceleration/deceleration is half as well.

There is a video almost exactly like this of a student who’s engine failed mid solo flight and had to emergency land in someone’s land. In all honesty, not really. The angle and impact into soft earth would have instantly ripped the landing gear off, not to mention there would have most definitely been more suitable spots. Always try to land in the direction of the lines you can see on the ground, otherwise you risk catching bumps that could rip your gear off no matter how smooth you touch down. If I had flown like this when I was doing emergency landing practice approaches, I would have instantly failed my checkride

This is the first time ive ever been convinced/fooled by a game. I genuinely thought this was real life. Edit: I know now that its a flight sim, but the point is how far gaming has come.
I thought I could assume computer generated graphics when I saw them, but this is truly a work of art, it only gets harder to distinguish real life verses animation from this point on, and personally I can't wait for another 3D animated TinTin movie, the realism in that was astounding
This isn't an animation even, it's realtime VR gameplay, not pre-rendered. If you haven't tried VR you should, it's a lot better than most people think it is. If these graphics fool you in a video VR would fool you in real life, it really feels like you are there.
Also the head movement didn't seem natural, plus displays never look that good on camera and not too positive about climbing right after you completly lose power, but yeah everything else was pretty much on point till the very landing where textures becsme obvious @_@

In all honesty, not really. The angle and impact into soft earth would have instantly ripped the landing gear off, not to mention there would have most definitely been more suitable spots. Always try to land in the direction of the lines you can see on the ground, otherwise you risk catching bumps that could rip your gear off no matter how smooth you touch down. If I had flown like this when I was doing emergency landing practice approaches, I would have instantly failed my checkride

I thought I could assume computer generated graphics when I saw them, but this is truly a work of art, it only gets harder to distinguish real life verses animation from this point on, and personally I can't wait for another 3D animated TinTin movie, the realism in that was astounding
This isn't an animation even, it's realtime VR gameplay, not pre-rendered. If you haven't tried VR you should, it's a lot better than most people think it is. If these graphics fool you in a video VR would fool you in real life, it really feels like you are there.

That was so realistic. The rainbow just gave it away there.
Also the head movement didn't seem natural, plus displays never look that good on camera and not too positive about climbing right after you completly lose power, but yeah everything else was pretty much on point till the very landing where textures becsme obvious @_@
