Folks..just make sure you unplug the battery and keep the airbag facing down whenever you place it. I have removed my clock springs 2 times, but now I am doing the steering upgrade.
It looks frikin great, the one thing im concerned about is the honk, and also for some reason i kinda feel the quick release thing makes it a bit insecure. Still want it tho
This is a late ass comment but you could always flip the quick release so you don’t have to release it like that and you can just pull from the steering wheel
Someone has definitely removed that wheel before. Those 10mm bolts are supposed to be torx bit screws, not 10mm. And the main bolt that holds the wheel on was loose. Along with the wheel itself should've been harder to remove if it had never been taken off before.
GRDFab is Yeah, I'm guessing it's been replaced. I was really confused when it wasn't the torx bit. Everything came off very easily. I purchased it as a salvage title so I'm guessing the airbag was replaced
So you just built the Bottom end of the motor? What about the top end? I'm only asking because im a NOOB. What is you end goal with the motor. Thank you for the detailed videos you rock!
Question for you... If you ever decided to tune your car on uprev you wouldn't be able to change tunning maps without the OEM steering wheel without the cruise control button?????
Hey Christian how did u take off that piece where the airbags cables and the horn cable is at I want to remove just that piece off as well please I need to know so I can finish my car
Dư Bối Bối You’ll have to check with your local laws. With everything done to my car, I don’t think the steering wheel is going to be the main concern lol. Everything I have safety wise is correct and legal but you never know how local authoritys will react
What did you do with the Vcds lights ? As I also ripped the clock spring off, now the Vcds light is on and when I steer the wheel to the right it sort of locks, any tips on how you sorted that or do I have to purchase a new clock spring ? Thanks
How did I remove the Oem Hub? If thats what your asking. It was simply removed by unbolting the wheel from the steering wheel column as you can see in the video. If your asking about that plastic piece that moves back and forth that carries the wires. I just ripped it off lol. Thanks for watching
@@andersonTEV1 yeah man, that part is easy to remove(top lid clipped, just gently pry and lift and should be some small retaining clip inside holding it onto a steering shaft) but what comes next is actually pain in the backside, you have to manufacture contact ring for the horn to work - baswd on your hub adapter, takes some trial and error to get everything right but so far had no issues.
@@andersonTEV1 i was stupid enough to have played with it without getting the resistor plugged to emulate the airbag so I got the error but managed to reset later on. Best to do it when battery is still unplugged so the ECU won't notice. Cause that error stays there.
This was my Track Car, Blackbird fabworx Custom Welded roll cage, Sabelt Gt Bucket seat, Schroth 6 point Harness. The roll cage, harness and seats cost more than my car lol. Safety is my #1 Priority and I don't think these parts should be installed on daily drivers just for looks

Looks dope asf, Will likely be ordering an after Market Steering Wheel for my Z and following this video Keep up the good work brother
I Appreciate this bruh there isn't much for the 7th gen maxima and this was exactly what I needed. ✌🏽😎
I ended up using a torque wrench since I over tighten the nut and it messed up the clockspring.
GenCoupe 3.8 what did you torque it to?
I love the 350z's steering wheel because its big but i also miss using skinnier steering wheels from driving classic cars... tough choice
Big Boy Haha go for a middle ground wheel. A little of both🤟🏻
@@ChristianLopez33 thanks man 👌
Wow! Amazing video dude! Very helpful appreciate the good content!
Thank you! New video coming out Monday
Enjoying the informative content. Keep up the good work!👍
SomeBoredGuy69 Thank you!!
It looks frikin great, the one thing im concerned about is the honk, and also for some reason i kinda feel the quick release thing makes it a bit insecure. Still want it tho
Vlady Martinez I love it! Makes getting out of the car so much easier with my Bucket seats
This is a late ass comment but you could always flip the quick release so you don’t have to release it like that and you can just pull from the steering wheel
How do you keep your door open like that?? My Z and previous Z’s and even other friends Z’s keep closing on their own! It’s a lil annoying
Hah this is me bro haha
love to see what the car looks like now, hopefully the exterior work has been done.

Thelegaldopeman Thanks for watching. End goal is just to have a running car lol. But yeah, bottom end is built. Trying to currently find heads
Question for you... If you ever decided to tune your car on uprev you wouldn't be able to change tunning maps without the OEM steering wheel without the cruise control button?????
DudeNBlack08 I can reroute thenCruise control wiring by taking it for the harness. But that isn’t a big deal for me right now
awesome video bro. thanks for taking the time to make it
Hey Christian how did u take off that piece where the airbags cables and the horn cable is at I want to remove just that piece off as well please I need to know so I can finish my car
Did you get that sorted at the end ?
Congratulations on all your subscribers you doing a great job
Very good content not alot of yuotubers to step by step installs anymore 👍
Ezequiel Aparicio Flores Thank you for watching! I hope I’ve earned a subscription🔥👌🏻
Christian Lopez yes, u have
Thank you! I was installing my quick release tha wrong way wondering why it ain’t fittin’
Where did you get your steering wheel and quick release from??
Hey good afternoon how did u remove that piece only to install the hub adapter
grats on 2k!
Did you run into VDC and Slip issues with removing the clock spring?
Did you get that sorted at the end ?
can u still signal and use ur windshield wipers?
Can you do the same with a automatic transmission
Drain electrical system before removing airbag, and don’t have your face in line when you do.
You and Robbie influenced my decision to get dnd
Logan Ake There a great company. Hope to do a Dnd Video in the future
Can you please explain how you removed the steering wheel loom. I can’t seem to figure it out.
Did you get that sorted at the end ?
Is this your daily or drift car?
Daily/weekend car
Good job man you doing awesome
Here from the 2k subs video🤙
Keep up the good work.
what hub did you use? , also can i just use the hub with the wheel? or do i need to buy the quick release too?
It'll be too close to the signal and wipers
You should've done a quick release mod to the OEM steering wheel!
Josh Burns Oem is too bulky for me. Thanks for watching!!!
Yo this isn't just me right?!?! At like 12:06 as you put the wheel on the tac jumps up right? im not trippen am I
Blayke Polzin Haha I just noticed that
wtf why
Blayke Polzin I was just about to comment this 😂😂
U left the important thing out
Awesome car
Does dnd steering wheels come with the horn wiring and air bag designator?
查爾斯 查爾斯 I believe all DND steering wheels come with the Horn button. Not 100% sure though
Christian Lopez oops sorry I resonator lol. But I just release the NRG Short Hub comes with it👍
dont remove the nut fully, to save ur face from getting wrecked by the steering wheel.
Story of my life I had the same issue with my stock steering wheel and bucket seat
Does the same principles work for any foreign steering assembly
ten13 Mostly yes. The installs are very similar
7th gen maxima is absolutely the same thing just more electronics
I want that piston!!! And my heads are still at the machine shop
Christopher Morales Good luck in the contest!
Mantap bang
Is it possible to run a horn with that set up?
Depends on the wheel setup, some companies have horn setups
If you don't have a horn and air bag , did you have a problem if the police see it
Dư Bối Bối You’ll have to check with your local laws. With everything done to my car, I don’t think the steering wheel is going to be the main concern lol. Everything I have safety wise is correct and legal but you never know how local authoritys will react
How about to check it?
12:08 lol the gauges went up when he put the wheel on
How did you get that face plate on the clock spring with the connectors off
david godin I️ pulled it off with pliers. It broke lol. Have no reason to have it on so I️ didn’t care about ruining it
Haha thanks. Might do that too

Next time do the complete video
What size the steering wheel?
Ready for the giveaway lol.
I left the clock spring on and rotated it so my wheel can be straight but now my vdc and slip light stay on can someone help me
I’m having the same problem. Did you ever fix it?
Did you ever fixed it ?
👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I have never noticed a small dot on the nrg hub I'm pretty sure my hub is upside down lmao
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Nrg quick releases are better
Watching video jus for the reason how to remove that fecking spinni g loom housing.... And that part is cut :/
Did you ever get it sorted man ?

Where’s the horn
If I only had a Z....
Eric Mitchell , if only I had etc?
just sit on the dash board... why are you so damn close to it....
This guy is a clown he said 10 mil bolts on the airbag, that was a lie they are actually some weird bolts that have a rounded head 🤦🏻♂️👎🏼
Security bolts not 10 millimeter bolts u dummy
Wow so you sacrifice in your safety and deleted airbag and horn 🫵🏼 do you think it’s a good decision 👁👁
