Hello! I'm from Russia! And I'm 24 y.o. I like the American classics. I used to love only cars. But lately, I also like trucks, American old trucks. Peterbilt 79' looks just fine! When you see it, you feel like you are immersed in the atmosphere of the 80's! In old cars the soul feels, in modern machines there is no such sensation! In general, I congratulate on the acquisition of such beauty! I wish successes in this interesting project! I hope the restoration of this huge truck will be given to you relatively easily and without any problems! I look forward to new videos! Good luck, buddy!
Seeing as this was a really nice build, I decided to go back and watch the series again, when one watches it an episode at a time, it’s very hard to take on board just how hard it was for you to buckle down every Saturday for 2 years in rain or shine, Kudos and much respect, 😃👍
It’s funny have you just stumble upon a video....just watched em all and can’t wait to see the progress....I think she’d look nicer with the single round headlights tho!!!
Like the way you are going with her. She will make you proud one day. :) I drove 359s, W900A and B and K100Es back in the 70s and 80s. Glad to see you are bringing her back to life!
Great "Pete" glad you are bringing her back to life. Should be gorgeous when it's done. Best of luck with the project..tons of work and money... but worth it in the end.
Don't rip out the a/c, saving that really does add major value to older vehicles as it's rare to see any of them working still since it's so common for people to just "rip them out".
@@RyanBurnsRed I live in northern wisconsin and always heard numnuts say that, funny enough when our humid ass summers get a heat wave those same people are dying to get into a building with ac. Real "cool" lol
Dave Cardinal ya I suppose I could but the air cleaners look like giant ears so far out from the cab 😆 and I just picked up my new shorter brackets at KW Edmonton South and they are gonna work perfect
Love watching the updates. Once you get some sand blasting done to the frame, the new bunk on and the wheels it will make the world of difference! I'm really looking forward to this build.
love what you are doing. when I'm a little bit older I plan get my CDL and do the same thing you. I plan on getting a 359 Peterbilt or a T600 Kenworth and fixing it up and hauling equipment across Wisconsin
4 brake pots!!! Didn’t notice that the first go around. Most Pete’s only had two on the front drive axle. But you have 4 parking brakes. Must’ve been used for some heavy heavy stuff in its day!
I love those pin stripes. Our 79 359 is a day cab and we bought it in Memphis surprisingly it had no rust on the cab. You have a very badass looking truck. Can't wait to see what you do to it next. Its always awesome to see another Pete being saved and being taken care of. Good luck man.
Worked at peterbilt body shop make sure you understand there are different size huck bolts for different locations of the panels and the tool to install the proper ones is a $3500 touch
Nice update! also hope this snow stops soon getting kinda tired of it i just want spring so i can get the car clean and rims put on. Looking forward to more video's of the truck
For the fuel tanks, have you thought about highly polished anodized aluminium? It comes up pretty close to normal polished aluminium and is resistant to corrosion.
Just put my on the road this January after 2 years of working on her and still getting done. You can find the air bags on amazon for 80-100. Dan’s wiper kit workers great. Just pricey.
Nice work, I wonder if there is an LED headlight conversion kit for those lights? My Truck is an 2014 and I went with a conversion kit. Glad I did too I recommend it, you can see so much better at night especially if you've got 50 yr old or older eyes like me! LOL!
If youre located in alberta contact saskatoon truck parts in saskatoon sk for semi parts! extremely large wrecker for semis, they also ship parts if needed.
Oh man...your going to get rid of original sleeper? What if you would have put the cost of new sleeper into refurbishing the old one? I'm not a 100% purist but think the old one matches the truck. Either way you have an old beauty and can't wait to see you driving it around, congratulations !😊
R Grimm old sleeper is a project in itself but it’s too cool to get rid of .... perhaps I’ll dive into it once the truck is done and use it on my next 59r 😉
359s are my favorite trucks. I have an 84 with a 63" flattop in north battleford Sask which is also a project that needs to be rerailed and painted but very good condition otherwise.
Richard Mcleod would love to see it the next time I’m going through Battleford ... shoot me an email with your phone number if you want to show her off
I've got a 1978 359 its all stock and restored From the Radiator back to the Last Rear-end completely new. I put 6" straights on my truck. I just don't like the Bigger stacks at all.
Danny Walker I’m kind of going for a hot rod/rat rod type truck so I want the big ones (plus the jakes will sound awesome) but I’m thinking the 10” stovepipes might be a little over the top ... may settle for 8’s
Hi mark!!! Huge fan, seen every video as you’ve released them. Something I was thinking and wondering, for a 1979, I’ve noticed the engine is cat yellow. My dads 1987 3406b was cat white colored. And same as the k100 you have. Do you know anything about why some are yellow and some are white? Maybe a different plant they were built at?? I’m going back through your old videos and loving them all over again!! Thanks!!
@@TwinStix that’s what I thought but his 87 was white. Original engine and he bought the truck in ‘89 and all numbers matching. So somehow they still had the white engines. Very curious.
You seem to be living my dream project. Im also in Alberta and would love to see this rig on the road at some point. What area of AB do you live in? Im in Edm so if you are ever in need of an extra hand, might be able to help you out.
Ellery Collins take what you think you’re gonna spend and triple it 😆 I’ll probably be into it for over 60 by the time I get it where I’m happy with it ... assuming the motor doesn’t need major work 🤞
your going to want A/C it gets Hot in a truck and your going to like the peace of mind when the windows are up and staying cool. it gets pretty Hot in a truck when running all day.
gary bennett ya I’m aware ... the L9000 I used to run didn’t have air and you could cook an egg on the floor in the summer ... I’m thinking of putting a newer condenser off a 379 that mounts in front of the radiator next year
yes that would the way to go with it, and I forgot to mention your doing an awesome job on the old girl its going to look nice when your done and a lot of work but well worth it.
Ben Harleman sure I’ll try and capture some of the work in the next vid and I haven’t started it since last year as I had to fix the oil leak on the air compressor and figure out the new air cleaners 1st ... she should be running again soon

I"m confused, are you just getting it road ready? Or are you restoring it? If you're restoring it why the piecemeal work? Why not start at the grill and replace everything and stop when you hit the taillights?

those rectangle headlights are signature with that front end
aa999xyz ya but missing a bezel for the left side and Peterbilt wants $450 for a silly ring of aluminum ... guess I’ll have to start mining ebay 🤞
You should keep the dual cold weather breathers on they look so cool
Just watched the last 8 videos they are fantastic. I'll continue to watch the rest. Thanks for a great topic on TH-cam.
Glad to see your still making progress on the Pete
Great "Pete" glad you are bringing her back to life. Should be gorgeous when it's done. Best of luck with the project..tons of work and money... but worth it in the end.
I think you should join together the first couple of videos so they are 8 to ten minutes long. Love the old truck!
All the best, Edgar

use huge rubber hoses for your intake, like intercooler couplers and keep these braquets,

Why take the original sleeper off? They're only original once.
Do you have to the air lines made or is it stock at the dealer.
